What are the potential consequences of being a healthcare worker who is unresponsive to the hepatitis B vaccine?
If a healthcare worker is non responsive to a hepatitis B vaccine it bring on potential caution for other patients. If someone does not respond to a vaccine it could be that the individual has antibodies that have faced the enemy hepatitis B already. Most patients that are non responsive can be not respond to the vaccine because they themselves can have hepatitis B (Vaccine Non-Responders, 2009). Thus, the healthcare worker can jeopardize her patients with potentially transmitting Hepatitis B (Vaccine Non-Responders, 2009).

We know yet because of all the vaccines that are now available, people should take full advantage of these opportunities to protect themselves and health. The risk of Hepatitis B is particularly high in individuals with multiple sex partners, and in homosexuals. The HBV virus occurs in morphologically different forms in the serum of infected individuals. HBV infection has an incubation period of about 75 days. Systemic symptoms of the disease include fatigue, fever, dyspepsia, arthralgia, malaise, and rash, while local symptoms include hepatomegaly, jaundice, dark urine, and pale stools (Davis 179; Zuckerman et al. 210).
