There have been many failures throughout history that were made by some of the most well-known historical figures today. Some of these people failed in general, and with others it was a trial and error process. Many famous people today failed at first, but later succeeded. One of these men whose name that we all know and see at least once a day, is Henry Ford. It is hard to think that he was not great success. It actually took Henry Ford three attempts before he successfully developed one of the first gasoline powered automobiles. The only thing was, is that it was too small for a large scale production. This marked his first failure with his gas-powered vehicle. Ford was then back to the drawing board. He then began work on a second idea. This time he was thinking ahead to what it needed to be like for production. It took him a year to complete his second automobile, which turned out a pretty good success. It was easy to drive and he focused on the simplicity and compactness aspects. At this time automobiles were very expensive and only the wealthy could afford them. Henry Ford wanted to be able to produce a car that was affordable to everyone not just the wealthy, but still be high quality. This was when the Model T was invented, they were first offered for sale in 1908. It was an affordable car at the initial price of it was $950, and 10,000 of these cars were sold just during the first year.
