Heather Cox had always loved the cold town of Glendale and its cozy spot snuggled between the Gray Mountains. It was a place she felt safe. But then again, she had never been outside of Glendale. With its beautiful trees and snow covered mountains, why would you want to? Heather was exactly like her little town, charming and attractive. Heather looks like the kind of girl that at first glance you would be scared of, like she could tear any ego down in seconds. But she was the exact opposite, she was kind-hearted and friendly. Heather looked just like her mother, long dark hair and playful green eyes. She loved being outside, just like her father did. Heather was always told that she was just like her father when it came to her personality. …show more content…
She couldn’t remember her dad very well, he had died when she was little, but what she did remember was how he loved to be outside. Heather’s way of staying connected with him was to stay outside as much as possible. Right now Heather was yearning to get out of this party and outside. this doesn’t make sense. I would make this into two different sentences This party was the biggest of the year, as always it is held by The Graham family, and, of course, everyone in Kane High School was invited. Their house had the best view, the Grahams could see the whole town from where they sat. Heather walked over to the window and surveyed her pretty surroundings. The fog teased her, it begged her to come outside. She finally gave in. As she walked outside, she was joined by Matthew Graham, the youngest of the Graham kids. He was a Freshman just like Heather. They had been friends for as long as she could remember. They sat there in silence, taking in their beautiful surroundings. After only a few minutes, they saw someone walking through the haze. “Please don’t let it be Jenna,” Heather begged “It’s okay,” Matthew said, “I’m right here.” “Just my luck,” mumbled Heather, it was Jenna Gray. Jenna is Heather’s best friend, or she was. She could not hold back her fear of Jenna. As Jenna came closer, Heather scooted closer to Matthew, who did not protest. As Jenna walked up to them, Heather flinched, Jenna just laughed and leaned so that she could whisper into Heather’s ear, "I hate you and I am going to make your life miserable." “Hi, Matthew!” Jenna said with fake enthusiasm, then turned toward Heather and glared at her with all the wrath she could hold in her little body before she turned to go inside. Heather looked back, even more, scared and started pulling on the, now intriguing, sleeve of her sweater. "Jenna, I never did anything to you," Heather replied.
They looked at each other with mixed feelings. For a moment, there was longing to be best friends again, but then in an instant, they were once again full of spite. Jenna whipped around and yelled, “You ruined my life! I can never forgive you! I hate you!” "Fine then I hate you too," said Heather with a hurt frown. The words hurt as they came out of her mouth. The look that Jenna had on her face brought Heather back to when and why Jenna hated her in the first place. It all started at the beginning of this school year, they were best friends and everything was fine. They both planned to try out for cheerleading. At tryouts, Jenna kept trying to complete a lot of complex moves, unlike Heather who just kept it simple. Jenna was cocky and obnoxious and made everyone who was trying out annoyed. When the names of who made the team came out, Heather had made the team and Jenna had been put on the list as the first alternative. When Jenna saw the list she flipped out, yelling at the coach and the girls who made the team. She had come over to Heather and said, “Why were you ever my friend? Why did you talk bad about me? Was it just so that you could make the team? I hate you and I never want to see you
again!” Heather was shocked, Jenna had always been level-headed. “What are you talking about? I didn’t say anything bad about you!” Heather said. “Oh really? Then how did you make the team and I didn’t?” said Jenna “Maybe because you were a showoff, vain, and immodest!” Heather shot back. Heather knew then that she had gone too far, she saw the hurt in Jenna’s eyes. “I’m sorry Jen-” Heather said before she could finish Jenna interrupted. “No, you’re not,” Jenna said, on the verge of tears, she spun around and ran to her car. Heather was zapped back to the present by Matthew’s voice. “Heather? Are you okay?” Matthew said. “Yeah I’m fine,” Heather said. “We should probably go inside, you look frozen,” Matthew said. Heather did not protest, Matthew guided her into the house and through the crowd to the couch. The rest of the night was a blur to Heather. ... Two days before Christmas day, Heather was on her way to a sleepover at Brooke Fletcher's house, the varsity cheer captain. Heather arrived just as Julia Mars was, so they walked into the party together. Julia was Heather’s back spot in her stunt group, she was tall and thin with long blonde hair and deep brown eyes. Heather and Julia had been close but never as close as her and Jenna. As they walked into the party they were greeted by Brooke. Almost the whole team was there already. Julia and Heather went and sat on the pile of blankets near the fireplace. Everyone was so excited to see each other. “Okay everyone is almost here!” said Brooke. Everyone cheered, the room's atmosphere was lighthearted. But as the door opened the mood fell, Jenna walked into the party sleeping bag in hand. “Who invited her?” Someone mumbled. Others murmured in agreement.
there, the coach wanted her to play on his team, even before seeing her play. She started on
Heather was a new student at Merryweather High School, and she instantly made friends with Melinda through sitting in the same seat on the bus on the first day of school. Melinda excepted Heather, who will soon betray her later in the book. The lunchroom is where Heather tells Melinda that they can not be friends anymore. On page 105 in the book Heather says to Melinda, “‘When you get through this Life Sucks phase, I’m sure lots of people will want to be your friend. But you just can’t cut classes or not show up to school. What’s next—hanging out with the dopers?’” This is where Heather states her reasons towards leaving Melinda. The only thing Heather did not mention is that in order to be in the group the Marthas at school, she can not be friends with Melinda anymore. Heather would rather be popular than be a good friend to Melinda, who accepted her when she was new. Also, on page 107 Heather rejects Melinda and tells her she can not hang out with her anymore. Heather says this to Melinda: “‘Look, you can’t eat lunch with me anymore. I’m sorry. Oh, and don’t eat potato chips. They’ll make you break out.’” This quote is very important because it helps explain why Melinda was able to stick up for herself. Because Heather was so harsh on Melinda, the next time Heather needed something Melinda could say no. Finding her voice after so long that it had been missing was an important event that happened to her. To add on to Heather breaking her friendship with Melinda, she was left with no one to talk to. When Heather and Melinda became friends in the beginning of the year Melinda finally had someone to be around, speak to, and motivate her. Because Heather and Melinda are no longer friends Melinda is affected in a bad way. Melinda goes back to being the outcast of the school, being depressed, and closed off.
Mim is busted. Kathy explains to her how worried her and her father have been. And that she loves her. Mim is still not having it.
Appalled at what she had just confessed. I couldn’t help but wonder what made her attracted to the guys on the team. Yes, they may be built and some are admittedly attractive, but that’s all they have going for them.
Marylin is a cheerleader who cares too much about makeup and her hair. “Marylin was now a middle-school cheerleader and cared too much about her hair… she was a big believer that life could be just the way it looked in girls’ magazines, where you and all your Best Friends Forever got together before school started and made crafty decorations for your lockers and traded fingernail polish tips... Marylin believed that life could be sparkly all the time... It just took a little extra work and some lip gloss, and life would be like a TV show everyone wanted to watch.” (pgs 3-4) Because Marylin is now a cheerleader, she believes that everything she does reflects who she is, so she has to be pink and sparkly and absolutely perfect all the time, or else people won’t like her. “‘Seventh grade is a time for, I don’t know, hanging out with your group of friends and getting ready for high school. It’s about finding your own personal style.’” (pg 22) She doesn’t like to color outside the lines; she wants to be exactly who you would think a cheerleader would be. Her personality is very preppy and girly, so she tends to talk a lot and be very enthusiastic and overly dramatic about things. But her main problem is she doesn’t know how to have a real friend. “What an interesting experience, she thought later… To have a conversation and feel okay about it afterward. Quite frankly, Marylin hadn’t known that was possible.” (pg 167) This happened after Marylin had been talking with Kate, who she used to b...
She had also ran into a little girl who right off the bat didn't like her, but she went up to Miss. Benson’s apartment with her anyways. They both had their different talents, and Heather was worried that Miss. Benson would like Risa better, cause she had started something called an “eye bouquet” which she

The bus rolled and headed to West Lafayette, Indiana for the team’s track & field outdoor championship. Her new high jump coach sat next to her on the bus and explained to her that she doesn't have to worry about her classes or being involved on campus as an activist. The only thing that she was supposed to focus on was her athletic performance. That went on to be Tayo’s last competition as she proceeded to quit the team.
Jenny was a really affable cheerleader at school; she had talked to Hannah before and was seen as a good person through her eyes, up until the “accident”. She had been to a party which affected her a lot and left her feeling completely helpless and she did not have the will to move; “I wanted to leave, but where would I go? I couldn’t go home. Not yet … Then a hand touched my shoulder. A gentle squeeze. It was Jenny Kurtz (240).” She was like an angel, rescuing her from a situation of distress; “Was it so obvious? Did I look that terrible? I looped my arm in hers and she helped me up. Which felt good, letting someone help me
They stared to talk and the players came out for warm ups. The nice lady told Amber she had to go find her seat. Amber resumed to go get her drink and that nice lady nonchalantly followed Amber everywhere
Ever since I was 8 years old, my answer to the inevitable question of “What to do you want to be when you grow up?” has always been, “A dancer and a missionary”. I cannot remember a time when I was not dancing, and dance is one of my greatest passions. My dream is to one day become a professional dancer and share the joy of dance with others, but I don’t want to just stop there. I hope to reach children in inner cities and poor areas of America who do not have access to dance, and bring them both dance and the gospel, a powerful combination which can forever change a child’s life. I also would love to go on missions trips to bring dance to children in other impoverished nations. However, in order for me to reach these goals, I have to take the next steps as a student.
I apologize for my no call no show today! This morning was not a morning that I could win. Something you don't know about me is that I suffer from Bipolar Depression. For me this has been a struggle that I have been dealing with in undergrad that I have not until this past year really learned what is going on with my body. This morning was the final blow to my self that yet again that I am going to have to change medications or something in that nature will have to happen. I have been in denial telling myself that it is that I am not getting enough sleep or this or that, but this morning I could not will myself to get myself out of bed and that is a problem. I am taking the appropriate steps in contacting my doctor to get an appointment

"C'mon, Chris, you get in the shower first," Taylor ordered from the other bed. "You're already up." Chris conceded and worked his way to the shower. Everyone in the room knew it too, due to his grunting and whining under his breath. Soon enough he was out of the shower and so were Taylor, Anders, and I. We ate breakfast with the rest of the team downstairs in the hotel in silence. It was too early to talk or chat. Everyone knew that one thing was going to be on their minds: winning. It was not worth discussing, either. Everyone knew that our varsity eight was possibly the strongest that McCallie had ever had, and that we had a good chance of winning some gold medals that day, if not a great chance. We loaded on the bus like ants, noiselessly flowing into one little opening. The bus ride was silent all of the way over as well. Everyone's heads, looking intently forward, were slightly jostling along with the bumps in the road. Some tried to sleep, but the tension and excitement was too much for most of them to be successful.
