Athletes and entertainers are overly paid. Their job is to just entertain the public, whereas other jobs in our country contribute to our society and freedom. Baseball players are putting on a chest plate to protect themselves from a baseball. Police are putting on a fireproof chest plate to be protected from bullets. Singers hold a microphone so everyone can hear their voice. Surgeons hold tools to do a heart transplant to save someone's life. Athletes wake up early to practice for a game. Teachers wake up early to prepare their day to teach those who are the future of our country. Athletes put on a uniform to show others who they are and to be recognized from others. Firefighters and soldiers put on a uniform to honor our country, risking …show more content…
Every day surgeons have people’s lives in their hands. The smallest of their actions can be the difference between life and death. A heart surgeon earns around $395,000 a year. It is a tragedy when someone loses something or someone so very close to their heart to an angry fire. But without firefighters coming to the rescue and preventing the ultimate worst scenario from occurring it would be hard to say what or who would be left in this world. Superheroes dressed in fireproof suits and tattooed with permanent scars are paid $75,520 a year. Teachers teach information that people will continue to use everyday, for the rest of your life. One of the first role models a child has is an elementary teacher, they earn a median salary of $54,120. You have the privilege of having freedom. Freedom, something Americans take for granted but it its not free. Men and women risk their lives everyday for you to have freedom. Active duty officers such as a First Lieutenant who has six years of experience are paid $56,872.80 each year. The leader of our country, the man who stands as a symbol of America is paid $400,000 each year. Paying athletes $13.5 million is ridiculously too much. They make $13,100,000 more than the president and he runs the country. Without doctors, athletes would be left miserable, unable to play. Without teachers, molding both athletes and entertainers they would not be the people they are today. These are just a handful, there are many more occupations who have a laughable salary compared to athletes and
Players do not deserve the money they receive. There are people who do much more than the players do. Why do teachers not get paid millions of dollars to teach kids? Some of those kids end up going on to become professional athletes. Police officers and firemen risk their lives to keep people safe and most of them do not even make any more than 95 thousand dollars a year (Megerian). These athletes get fined more money than that and hand it over like someone just asked them for one dollar. Players have all of this money and do not even do anything worth earning it. Why do they get this money? It is because fans value athletes more than the important things in life like education and family.
Should professional athletes earn millions of dollars for playing a game? Athletes should not be making millions and millions of dollars while more important jobs earn significantly less. There are doctors who save lives daily and they do not even make a tenth of what some athletes make. It is crazy to believe that someone is really worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and all they have to do is play a sport; a sport that millions of people would play for free if given the chance.
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
The innocent cardiac murmur is still the most common finding in healthy children and usually be diagnosed through obtaining a complete history and performing a complete physical examination; cardiac murmur may be the first sign of a structural cardiac disease and should not be ignored; referral to a cardiologist for further evaluation when murmur assessment is not clear and diagnostic uncertainty is present (Etoom & Savithiri, 2013). Heart murmurs are abnormal sounds that are auscultated via stethoscope. When a heart murmur is detected, it is important to note the location, the pitch, is it affected by anything, such as position change, the loudness, when it occurs, and how long it lasts. All of those things will assist in diagnosing the murmur.
A heart murmur is turbulent blood flow. Most of the heart murmurs are considered to be innocent. An innocent heart murmur can occur due to the valves being too narrow or the valves being too wide. Holes in the Septum can also cause a heart murmur. An innocent heart murmur can be physiological, or functional. Many people can wonder if there are any symptoms. A heart murmur in most occasions does not show any symptoms. It cannot be heard be the person that has the condition. It can only be heard by a stethoscope. It’s often asked what causes a heart murmur.
Heart failure is a long-term (chronic) condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood through the body. When this happens, parts of the body do not get the blood and oxygen needed for them to function properly.
There are many concerns around the issue of elite sports players being payed ridiculous amounts of money and to some people, they are overpaid. Questions such as “Should someone who kicks a ball around be paid millions more than someone saving lives on a daily basis?” are being asked and statements such as sportspeople are completely overpaid, They are given millions of dollars when there are children and adults starving in third world countries. These countries are starting to get supported and one day they will be far better off then what they are now. While some people agree that Elite Sport’s Players are over paid, I do not.
Heart failure is most probably to happen as we age. However, anyone can develop heart failure, which is actually a severe long term chronic illness. Nevertheless, one can live a full and active life with the appropriate medical treatment and attention one pays to their lifestyle. Numerous of individuals who develop heart failure have had other heart conditions previously. The most prevalent condition that amounts to heart failure is coronary artery disease, blood pressure as well as prior heart attack. Growing up in America, many people are unaware of what is really occurring around them. People are so into their televisions, and their jobs that they fail to recognize the amount of work that is put into making this country as wonderful as it is. However, many people complain about the wages they receive hourly at work, or the salary they earn every month. Some complain that it is too low, and others complain about the taxes that are deducted, and how they do not have money to spend for occasions like Christmas, or even vacations. Then those same people sit at home, watch television, whether it is a basketball game, a game show, or even a soap opera, and complain about why those actors, athletes, and entertainers earn so much money, when they do not do as much as doctors, and teachers do. They complain about soccer players that are paid more monthly than doctors do yearly. They complain about singers that are paid for lip singing on stage, fooling many people. Even with their complaints, they sit down and watch the football game, watch the concert, and support actors, entertainers, and athletes. Why should those actors, entertainers, and athletes be paid that much money when they do not shape our future like teachers do, or save lives like doctors do? Unfortunately, for those people who complain, it is because of people like that, which cause people like Britney Spears, and Shaquille O’Neal to have more money than some people can count. It certainly is not fair that famous people such as Shaquille O’Neal, and Britney Spears earn so much money, but people cannot complain about it not being fair because unfortunately America is a very entertainment filled country, and almost everyone in the country has a favorite singer, band, athlete, team, or sport that they support, by either purchasing clothing, albums, tickets to the games or concerts, which makes the famous person earn that high amount of money.
In brief, when you turn on your television and see Sports Center discussing athletes’ salaries, there will be critics and supporters, no doubt. There always will be. In reality, though, you know that these athletes are not entirely deserving of the money they receive. An athlete’s performance on a television screen alone is not nearly enough to get millions of dollars. So then why are we willingly handing these people this amount of cash? Why do we not keep in mind the variety of other things our money could be usefully going to instead? The check these athletes procure is in no way proportional to their valiant effort in a game or their aid in helping a sports team advance.
When addressing the value of entertainment, there is without a doubt, that we as a society value entertainment highly. But there is no reason that these athletes, who are here to merely entertain us, get paid higher wages than those that save our lives and teach us such as medical doctors and teachers. I find it ridiculous that players make millions of dollars a year, and yet demand more. The entertainment that these athletes provide is solely entertainment; it is not essential to the function or productivity of society. If I were to become a professional football player I would not complain about my salary for many reasons. I am playing the sport that I love and getting paid for it. The minimum wage for football is well over $100,000 a year, as is for many professional sports. These reasons by their lonesome are enough to warrant that the salary professional athletes are paid is suffice.
Although I volunteered with three different organizations this semester I wanted to focus this service-learning journal on Healing Hearts. We met with Julie Walls one of the coordinators of Healing Hearts, and started volunteering with them at the end of August.
One reason why I believe that professional athletes and entertainers should not get paid more is because some people have more difficult jobs. First, people with more difficult jobs don’t get paid as well as professional athletes and entertainers even though their job is harder. Second, these professional athletes and entertainer travel around the world
The Cardiovascular system which is also known as The Circulatory system is the transporter of the human body. The Cardiovascular system pumps the blood which carries nutrition and oxygen to places that need them. For example, if you are running your legs and arms need oxygen so the heart pumps what the arms and the legs need. Bring the waste out of the human body is anther job of the Cardiovascular system. The waste that goes out are the waste from the body tissues which are filtered out from the blood as it flows through the kidneys. The waste then leaves the body in the form of urine. There are five or more organs in the Cardiovascular system, One of them is the Heart. The heart is the major organ of the human body, the hearts job is to pump the blood around the body so that the parts can get the nutrition and the oxygen they need.
It may be true; such people like the president of the United States and doctors don’t make a fraction of what a celebrity makes on one movie. Many can argue that people with the occupations such as a doctor who saves people lives on a daily basis, should be paid more. In like manner the president of the United States only makes 400,000 dollars a year. As compared to an actor that works on a movie for six months at a time, gets paid millions of dollars. Another argument that I have come across, is that some people say that teachers have to work eight hours a day, 5 days a week and ten months out of the year. Teachers are important because they reach out to kids, getting them ready for life. On the other hand, society sees a football player only is around for entertaining purposes. People see it as a teacher is only making 40,000 a year, while a football player makes over forty million.
