Health Information Management Program: A Personal Statement Of Purpose

Glad to introduce myself as Vaishnavi Reddy Kuchukulla. If one were to ask my family and friends to describe me they would describe as an independent, hardworking and a trustworthy person. I am a health sciences student with a flair for healthcare. I have always been interested in health sciences right from my childhood, being influenced by my maternal uncle, who is into medical sciences and has been a guiding force. I have always been academic oriented. I decided to specialize in Health Information Management (HIM) with the constant support of my husband in the pursuit of my education and career.

I have studied my secondary school (2003) and senior secondary school (2003 – 2005) under Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). I chose Fleming College to pursue Health Information Management program, as it is recognised and regulated by Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and is delivering the program with a unique blend of Epidemiology, Medical Terminology, Electronic Health Records, latest version of coding classification systems (ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS), Health Data Management, Health Information compliance and security, Database Management, Effective and efficient patient records management, which together form the backbone of health information technologies.
