Health Educators are professionals who hold prepared knowledge and skills which are based on research to help to promote health education to change the behaviour in individuals as well as the population. Health educators promote the importance of health to prevent the population from the growth of certain diseases to prevent deaths and disabilities. They provide the population with information on any health related issues that are effecting the population or could possibly effect the population. The world health organization also known as WHO is the directing and organising authority within the United Nations, they produce the health guidelines and the standards; they also help countries to overcome public health issues. This organisation supports and promotes the research into health and WHO helps governments to jointly challenge global health problems and to improve people’s well-being and lives. The NHS Direct is health advice and an information service that is provided by the National Health Services which was made in March 1998. This service is telephone operated which is led by nurses who provide health information to residents and any visitors of England; this healthcare advice is available 24 hours a day every day of the year. However this was discontinued in March 2014 due to the fact that the number given was chargeable and some landlines provided the 0845 numbers to have inclusive minutes. Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) nursing programs prepare students to deliver primary healthcare to women throughout their lifespan. This nursing specialty program consists of in-depth theory, pathos-physiology, research application, pharmacological therapy, and critical thinking skills based on clinical studies. Prospective nursing students are expected to meet the requirements of the nursing program, including full-range comprehension of reproductive-gynecologic health. Prospective students should seek accredited nursing programs that meets the guidelines for women's health nursing education established by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioners of Women's Health. Prospective nursing students should conduct the proper research to determine if the institution has obtained accreditation through the National Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Health visitors are registered nurses who undergo extra training to work in the community with families and children under five. The main principles of health visiting are to ensure that children have a healthy and positive start to life by recognising health needs, encouraging health enhancing activities and influencing health policies (Craig and Lindsay, 2000). Health visitors provide the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) which allows all families access to services ranging from immunisations through to safeguarding. Although health visitors play a key part in the healthcare of families and children they also work closely with other health professionals in order to help families achieve optimum health. This essay will describe the health visiting role in more depth as well as discuss why immunisations are a key role in the health promotion undertaken by a health visitor.
National Health Service (NHS) is the provider of healthcare to all citizens in England. At present many centres in the England are developing and conducting programmes to promote a multi-professional approach to working (Barr, 2002; Whittington, 2003). The NHS is steered by sequences of policies that are outlined by the Department of Health from time to time and has set up care trust which are partnerships with the NHS and the local council.
Define Nursing Nursing is a knowledge-based profession within the health care sector that focuses on the overall care of individuals. According to The American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), “defines nurse practitioners as registered nurses who have received graduate-level nursing education and clinical training, which enables them to provide a wide range of preventative and acute health care services to individuals of all ages. They deliver high-quality, cost effective care, often performing physical examinations, ordering tests, making diagnoses, and prescribing and managing medication and therapies”. Nurse Practitioners are able to specialize in a particular area, such as family and adult practice, pediatrics, and women’s health; and refer patients to other specialists when necessary. Some nurse practitioners work under the supervision of a physician while others run their own practices.
Also, changing their perceptions about their health and to overcome the issues that restrict them from having a healthy lifestyle. (Lapkin & Doab 2015) Moreover, nurses can prevent illness in the community to worsen and assist them to manage their health. Nurses will have a better understanding of the factors that may influence the patient’s behaviour which can be used to assess them to provide them with better treatment. Further, fulfilling the patient’s needs, preventing further damage to their health while promoting a healthy environment. When I first started college, my view of a health care professional was a transparent overview of the field and their duties. I knew what they did, but at that time I didn’t understand why. Becoming a health educator is easier said than done, and with the knowledge comes a great responsibility. Health education as defined by the World Health Organization is “the process of enabling people to increase control over their health and its determinants, and thereby improve their health’. That is noteworthy, yet at the same time, a very board definition. I define health educators as a guardian of the unmindful, meaning as a health educator, you are responsible for the knowledge of your community and expanding their mind set.
Last week my health professor challenges our class to stop complaining for just 24 hour. So I decided to challenge myself not to complain for 24 hours.

There is no doubt that a population which is “health literate” is significant for the sake of the “public health as a whole and consequently for public finances”(Tappe 2013) (Younghee 2013) Many countries including the U.S. have realized just how vitally this issues has become. (Younghee 2013) Sadly however, the ability understand basic health information, with or without health education, as well as access and process the services is only possessed by “50%”of the American public, resulting in the escalation or health care costs as well as poor decision making regarding health care. (Mancuso 2011) Yet the fact is that over the years at local, state, and institutional levels, health educators have been very successfully advocating to influence smoking regulations, child safety seat policies, nutrition policies, and many other health policies and regulations still a stunning “98.0%” of them report “barriers to policy activity”. (Bliss 2013)
Health is a vital component in our everyday life. If it is compromised, everything else goes down with it. Health affects an individual drastically; therefore, it is imperative that we take good care of our bodies in order to maintain normal body functions that can help us go through our normal day-to-day lives without fail. There are many factors that can affect health--one of them is Education. Health education feeds emotions that will motivate us to do a better job at being caretakers of ourselves. It can therefore, be said that health education can encourage people to act on their own personal health.
