WorldWar II When people imagine World War II, they think about explosions, guns, and violence but have you ever stopped to think about the benefits of World War II. Despite all the bad that came from World War II something good had definitely come from it. World War II helped us in many ways such as medical advancements, economics, and the safety of countries. First of all, World War II helped us was through medical advancements. When World War II started it pushed scientists to create new medicines, antibiotics, and so many more confusing words. Without this we might not have won the war. With so many injuries and deaths, scientists had to do something to help these soldiers who were being injured and dying. And they did! The first new medicine created was a treatment for infections like sore throat, pneumonia, and gonorrhea. This medicine was called M+B693. Even when the war began in 1939, we kept advancing in the medical industry. During the war, we created so many revolutionary medicines. If the war didn't happen, we would be years behind in the medical industry. We still use all of our research from World War II today. For example, Brian J. Ford, a doctor during that time said, “If any good can be said to come of war, then the Second War must go on record as assisting and accelerating one of the greatest blessings that the 20th Century has conferred on Man – The huge advances in medical knowledge and surgical techniques. The effects of World War II were huge in many countries. After World War II, many countries started to advance their defences a lot. (which is expectable). After World War II, the government started to manufacture more and more weapons to defend themselves. The government enhanced their train station security, their military defences, and their white house security. But not only was the government trying to defend themselves but, the American citizens took more safety precautions as well. “powerful labor unions played an increasingly important role in work safety. In the 1940s however World War II’s effects led to rising injury rates and the resulting political pressures led Congress to establish the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The continuing problem of mine explosions also led to the foundation of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) that same year.
