The name Hayao Miyazaki is a name that undoubtedly familiar to many people. Some people may recognize the name, but not recall where it’s from. Other people know who he is, but don’t remember his name. Even if you aren’t familiar with his name, you’ve probably heard of some of his work. He is the creator of several beloved anime movies that have been enjoyed by many people. Miyazaki was born in Tokyo, Japan, on January 5, 1941. He grew up with his three brothers, and attended a few different schools. He began animating in 1963, and started getting noticed for his work in 1965. His work definitely impacted anime, because he made it more well-known. His movies are what led many children to start watching anime. Even though the movies are intended for children, they can be enjoyed by any age group. Because of these reasons, Hayao Miyazaki deserves to be nominated for the “A World of Talents” Award.
Hayao Miyazaki is a very talented animator and filmmaker. According to an interview for The Guardian, “According to the numbers, he is Japan's most successful film-maker” (www.theguardian.com). His movie Spirited Away broke the box records of Titanic in Japan. This movie won several different animation awards, and it isn’t the only one of his movies to have won awards. That alone shows how popular his work is. Princess Mononoke had also broken records at the time of its release. People have referred to him as a god, and for good reason. Miyazaki himself has won awards, such as the lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival. This quote shows one aspect of his success as an animator. Not only are his films successful in the box office, they are also successful in bringing popularity to anime.

Hayao Miyazaki has been revolutionary in Japanese animation. A mangaka (an artist/writer/creator of manga, Japanese comics), an animator, and storyteller, Miyazaki has not only been very successful in his work, well known and loved by many, but has changed the world of anime with his unique style of drawing. Through passion and hard work, Miyazaki has become one of the most successful animators in all of Japan.
His work in modern media was revolutionary. Moreover, he broadened communication and made it easier to learn about new cultures. Disney’s movies play a vital role in children’s development and their productivity when they enter the “real world”.

Amano had many major accomplishments, mainly from working in Character Design. He worked on every one of the Final Fantasy games up until today. Perhaps one of the greatest if not the greatest director/producer in American film history is Steven Allan Spielberg. Spielberg is a three-time Academy Award winner and is the highest grossing filmmaker of all time; his films having made nearly $8 billion internationally. As of 2006, Premiere listed him as the most powerful and influential figure in the motion picture industry. TIME magazine named him in the '100 Greatest People of the Century'. At the end of the 20th century LIFE named him the most influential person of his generation.
Miyazaki is well known creating well-developed characters and Princess Mononoke is a good example showing these qualities along with a strong message on environmentalism and an underlying theme of feminism.
