Had killed Harry’s parents years ago. Harry was living with his rude and obnoxious aunt, uncle and cousin. Harry eventually got into hogwarts which is a school for wizards. Harry was finally free of his nasty aunt, uncle and cousin. The story eventually becomes a tale of Harry’s vengeance for his parents wrongful deaths. As he matures, he shows himself to be caring and loyal friend and an excellent Quidditch player. This is mostly summarizing the sotry as opposed to analyzing Harry’s traits. Hermione Granger at first an annoying goody-two-shoes who studies too much and obeys the school rules too zealously.
Hermione eventually becomes friendly with Harry after she learns to value friendship over perfectionism and obedience. She comes from a purely non- magical family. Her character illustrates the social-adjustment problems often faced by new students at Hogwarts.
Ron Weasley is a shy, modest boy who comes from an impoverished wizard family.Ron has many brothers and sister who he love all very much. Ron is Harry’s first friend at Hogwarts, and they become close. He lacks Harry’s charisma, but his loyalty and help are useful to Harry throughout their adventures. Ron’s mediocrity despite his wizard background reminds us that success at Hogwarts is based solely on talent and hard work, not on family connections. Ron’s willingness to be beaten up by the monstrous chess queen shows how selfless and generous he is.
These three characters have basically nothing in common but at the same time have so much in common. They have many likes and dislikes toward each other. These characters would never stab each other in the back. They stick together, And together they accomplished so much. Harry, Hermione, and Ron soon will make new friends and always protect each
other.
In these two stories the first compare and contrast is that they both use their friends when they have their inner demons. Like when Harry wants to go to the ministry of magic because he sees a vision of the
In Harry potter and the philosopher's stone she is shown as an unfriendly know-it-all, as she is constantly correcting people and seemingly arrogantly answering questions in class. Whilst also keeping to herself. For these reasons, no one really cared to know her. Her friendship with Harry and Ron only came about after the pair rescued her from a troll. When they got in trouble, she readily took the blame. Through this, the pair were enabled to see past her snobby know it all behaviour.
Hermione Granger is Harry’s other best friend. She is a very smart wizard, a know it all and has brown, curly hair. Hermione is a Muggle-born wizard which means both of her parents don’t have magical powers. Her life revolves around school. Whenever she is not in class, she is either studying, doing homework, or she is in the library reading.
Ever since J.K. Rowling first introduced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1997, children and adults have read and loved the series. It has gained such popularity that all of the books have been made into major motion pictures, and a Harry Potter attraction has been opened in Universal Studios, Florida. Though the readers love Rowling’s intricate and exciting story lines, many controversies have arisen from these stories, not only in the United States, but also in various countries around the world. Perhaps the biggest controversy is the religious implications perceived by some critics. Although these critics believe that the series promotes paganism and encourages evil actions, these theories should not be taken so seriously.

Just to quickly run through the two previous books; Harry Potter is a wizard, who’s parents were killed by the worst dark wizard ever known. The reason why Harry Potter is still around, is because Lord Voldemort failed to kill Harry. His spell hit Harry, but then backfired on Voldemort taking all of his powers with him. Harry is so famous for two things. Withstanding the powers of Lord Voldemort, and, taking him back in to the underworld in hiding. In the first book, Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He’s eventually allowed to go, and spends the next six months there learning magic, getting into trouble, and trying to solve mysteries of his past, and the school. In the second book, Harry goes back to his second year at Hogwarts, and gets into more trouble, figures out many astonishing mysteries and learns loads more magic. His best friends in the two books consist of Ron and Hermione (two of his fellow wizard students) and Hagrid the gamekeeper who was expelled from Hogwarts but allowed a job as the gamekeeper.
Harry Potter is known as a fantasy series, but it also touches on some of the difficult aspects of adolescence. Not only can we see the adolescent development of Harry himself, but also of those around him. It made them seem human and thus easier to relate to, despite their 'wizardry.'
In 1997, the first book of the Harry Potter series was released in the United States, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It was then that people began to fall in love with “The boy who lived.”, Harry Potter, and began their love/hate relationship with the man who would end up helping to save his life multiple times over (Rowling, J.K., 2007). This love/hate relationship developed because it seems as if this man, a professor at Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, constantly was against the hero, Harry. There is a buildup of the fact that Sna...
As the school year ends their grades at the top of the class, Harry Potter heads home to practice on some magic on his petulant cousin Dudley. The magical, fantasy world of wizards and witches sharply contrast with the dull Muggle world in some respects, although the town’s centers socially and economically function similarly. The people are of mixed blood lines in both worlds but what makes the difference in the social status and power of a person, is individual will, striving. A sense of right and wrong ultimately comes from how responsible a person is toward others. Harry and his friends break Hogwarts’s rules, lie, and solve mysteries to defeat powerful evil forces are awarded the highest honor winning the cup for Gryffindor and secure the Sorcerer’s Stone during their first year at
The portrayal of female characters in British literature has most often reflected the larger perception of women by society during the time of a work’s publication. In this regard, the immensely popular Harry Potter series written by author J.K. Rowling is certainly no exception. The circumstances for women in late 20th century Britain have improved and in many ways are nearing equality with men, yet a notable upper barrier to success still remains. Rowling captures this gender dynamic throughout the Harry Potter series by including a diverse cast of resilient female characters who are not allowed to take on the same leadership roles dominated by the men at Hogwarts, at the Ministry of Magic, in quidditch, and during the Triwizard tournament. The novels also center on an important theme of motherly love that Rowling uses to explore the sacrifices women must make in order to raise their children well. Such issues have been present in British literature for well over a century, with each generation seeing steps toward equality, both for the fictitious characters and the women of a given time period. The Harry Potter series, therefore, constitutes a reflection of female status in modern Britain that has advanced, but remains perpetually flawed.
Harry James Potter is the main character. He was born to James and Lilly Potter a half-blood family. Half-bloods are families that have both wizard and muggle family members. When Harry was only a baby his parents died leaving him to live with his muggle Aunt's family the Dursley's. Growing up his aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon treated Harry very poorly and more as a servant. He was bullied
Harry Potter begins his life as a loner because his relatives did not want to acknowledge him. At Hogwarts, he meets three people who become his good friends. Each has a strength and with that a weakness. Ron needs Harry to help him realize that he can be great and live up to his many brothers. Hermione helps Harry through all his schoolwork and during danger. In return, Harry helps Hermione loosen up and acknowledge what true friendship is. Neville gets courage from his friends. Together, they overcome the weakness and help each other through all the conflicts that come their way.
The “Harry Potter” series, written by J.K Rowling, is a popular selection for both young children, to older adults. But even if you aren’t a hardcore fan to the series, you will know the infamous Weasley twins, Fred and George Weasley. As most fans will know, the two are almost inseparable. Spending almost every waking moment together, these two boys love each other more than anything else in the world. You can understand that, since they spend everyday together, they know each other more than anyone else, even occasionally finishing each other’s thoughts. The two were known to have started a joke shop, enjoyed pranking others together, and even created new spells and potions with each other’s consent. Sadly, in the 7th book, The Deathly Hallows, Fred is killed, and George is left alone. George, although never really getting over his twin’s death, George goes on with life, and sometimes dismisses the “good ol’ times”. George, as said in the book, appreciated Fred more when they were “living the moment” with each other, when still alive to converse
J.k. Rowling illustrates the good and evil in the world through the rather obscene characters in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. At Hogwarts school the students learn helpful life skills when facing the real world. Hogwarts is a hazardous place to go to school because of the magical creatures and powers. Living in a chaotic wizard-world could lead to a loss of innocence. The most positive aspect about Hogwarts is that the students learn to survive.
Harry Potter starts off slow, but gets very interesting near the end. In the beginning, you meet the Dursleys, Harry’s aunt, uncle, and their son Dudley. Then you learn that Harry’s parents were witches, and that they were destroyed by a evil wizard. A good witch, Albus Dumbeldoor, sends Harry to the Dursleys, because they’re his only remaining family. The Dursleys however, hated Harry and his family, so Harry was mistreated for years. He was forced to live in a cuborrod under the stairs. He had to watch as the fat, stuck up Dudley got whatever he wanted, and then usually broke whatever it was he got. Then one day Harry got a letter.
