A children’s book (whispers) although I don’t agree with that. (Sighs) growing up… Can I do a Peter Pan and just never do that? It sounds good in theory, growing up that is, but if I’m stressed now with the all the deadlines and responsibilities I have, I’m not going to survive a day after 20. Should I set out a plan? Plan… Ha! I don’t have one of them, not even the start of one. The people around me want to be doctors or journalists, they know exactly what they’re going to do. (Muffles scream/grunt into a pillow). I don’t understand how anyone can just know exactly what they’re going to do and somehow we’re expected to just… know, “Career pathways” (she says in a mocking voice imitating a man’s voice and doing air quotations with her fingers) I swear I’m the only one that says I’m just going to let life hit me with whatever it has to throw at me and just go with it, I’ll play Quidditch with life (Alice says with a little fear in her voice but giggles and looks at the Harry Potter book in her lap) I’ll fly through life on my broomstick getting hit with Bludgers along the way. That’s not a totally horrible plan, but life doesn’t really just work like that… or can it… I don’t see why not. I could just live off hope, yeah, hoping I’m in the right place at the right time, meet the right person or I’ll just find what I really love doing one day randomly, those will be the Bludgers life throws at me and even if they knock me off my broomstick I’ll get back on. Whether that happens next year or when I’m 30, it’ll happen… well I hope it happens. So maybe life will hit me
