Why was she brave? She was brave because she escaped slavery. Torture, unhealthy lives, no food, no medical health was what she went though. Not only her but also many African Americans. After slavery she started helping all the other slaves to escape like how she did, She had to find ways of how she could do it. Also, she had to be careful with all the police and guards that would keep an eye on the slaves to make sure they did not escaped. Freeing slaves would take lots of dedication for her to do. She was responsible for every single slave she freed to the North. Her heart was pure, Harriet cared about others as if they were family. Even though she had in mind that they could find her and kill her for freeing slaves, she still did it to do what was right. Her strategies were really good. Harriet would quietly take several slaves at night while they owners were sleeping and she would take them to the woods then across the river to and underground railroad that led to the North. In the North all African Americans were free, some were not treated right by some white but they were still able to work as all whites. Harriet Tubman was a fearless and smart. She did not care what would get in her way, she would always find a way to help others. That is what an epic hero is all about, being brave, fearless, and smart. Harriet Tubman believed in what was right for her and others. Back in those days it was not a free country. People were not able to stand up for others and did not have a freedom of speech. She did not think that was right so she would stand up for that. Harriet Tubman believed that all men on world were equal, shall they have equal rights as all white people. In her belief the only thing different with the African Americans was the color of their skin, which was ridiculous for the white people to judge them by that. Every person has the same functions and the same structures. It was unfair for all those judged. She fought for the rights of all African Americans in slavery, she did all she could to free the slaves and help them out to a new life of freedom. That is what epic heroes does, they fight for others and help them out. That is what Harriet Tubman did for all slaved people, she fought for what she believed and no one would stop her from doing that. Although you could argue that the law in those days was that all African American were not free. They were to have an owner and shall do everything they tell them to. They were considered as stuff, not people. Because of the their color they would not be able to do anything for any kind of law. Harriet Tubman did break some laws. She escaped from her owner, which had cost him lots of money. She stole many artifacts from the owner and that is how she was able to survive after she escaped. She freed lots of slaves, every night on her trips she would about one hundred slaves only on one night. It was a miracle what she could do. Even though Harriet Tubman did many bad stuff too and she did not follow laws, she is still an epic heroes. Some heroes have to take bad decisions to do some right stuff. That is what Harriet Tubman did, she broke laws to do what was right and freed people to the North so they could not be tortured and have a better life. A real epic hero is Harriet Tubman.
Yes, she is not a fictional character but why would you want fake people from books and comics when you can have real people do caring stuff in real life. We have to focus on what we can do in real life. Someone who can actually help out in problems from the real world. Those are real heroes, the ones who care about people and help them out to achieve new things in life. To have another chance in life and make them appreciate life more than usual. Harriet Tubman is a fearless, brave and smart women who fought for the African American to their freedom. She did something historical. She touched many people's hearts which all her hard work. Her courage was magnificent, so much work she had to do for all those people. All the brave it took to do that stuff. Many people think anyone could do that but not anyone could do what she did for all those people and be as caring as she was. Not anyone would do something knowing they could get killed, she did what it took to do the right stuff for all those slaves. Harriet Tubman was a real epic hero. Not fictional characters, those just do amazing things but who do they help. It does not help anyone in the real world. Not as how Harriet Tubman did, she is an epic

An epic hero is character who is brave and noble, and that person is someone who carries good leadership traits and goes through an epic journey. Usually an epic hero is from an epic, and an example is Odysseus. Odysseus goes through a journey to return back to Ithaca, his homeland. In the modern era, there are epic heroes all around us. They can be in books, movies, or plays. One great example of a modern epic hero is Woody from Toy Story 3. He is confident, courageous, selfless, and humane. Woody is a toy cowboy and his owner, Andy is going off to college. Woody and his buddies get misplaced and get donated to a child day care center. The dictionary defines hero in mythology and legend as, "a man who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and born of divine or royal blood. He is a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life." In addition, I believe a hero is one to be looked up to and emulated. What is interesting about epic heroes is that their great deeds and exploits all have to do with defeating themselves, so with help from the gods they can truly become heroic. They can only defeat themselves with the help of the gods.

Along with the union coming out victorious, slavery was abolished, territorial integrity was gained, the reconstruction era began, and Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. Although, many people were involved in the process leading up to the civil war. Abolitionists played a huge role in the progression in civil rights. I believe that Harriet Tubman is a great hero. Here on the plantation, we don’t really hear about much, but we knew of the great Moses. Being a slave in the South, escaping seemed like nothing but a farfetched dream, but Moses gives people like me hope. Mom would always tell us famous quotes that Harriet would use to encourage slaves, things like “We got to go free or die, and freedom’s not bought with dust.” That quote always proved to me how determined Harriet was to bring fugitives up North. No matter the cost, she would go back and forth between the deepest of Southern slave states all the way to the North just to lead people to the safety and freedom they should’ve received when they were born. Harriet risked her life everyday to bring
She also feels that Harriet Tubman is a prime example of a strong African American woman. This biography furthered confirmed my positive view of Harriet Tubman. It also provided me with new insight of the struggles that Harriet Tubman encountered. For instance, I was able to learn that her original name was Arminata Ross and she was forced to change her name to Harriet in order to maintain a false

The main focus of this article found on The Washington Post is to provide a standpoint to the current issue of replacing president Andrew Jackson’s face with Harriet Tubman’s on the $20 U.S. bill. This article called “Keep Harriet Tubman- and all women- off the $20 bill” was written by Ms. Jones, a feminist woman in New York who is a mental health social worker and writer. According to Ms. Jones, there are major several problems of misrepresentation of women, especially black women in the United States. Such misrepresentation issues occur in regular jobs’ positions, as well as in the government, specifically in the House of Representatives, the Senate and other important positions that determine the primary decisions of the country.
