Thump, thump, click, boom! These are the sounds that you often hear when you are out and someone is doing flooring in a house. Flooring is an important profession and a job, for any house needs a floor that is durable and is put in properly to last a long time. Not many people give flooring the credit as a job that it deserves. This is saying that there has been more work and skill that goes into flooring than it is given credit for. Hardwood flooring is a hard and challenging job that requires a lot of skill due to it involving lots of math and science, a specific design that needs to go with every type of floor, and a high variety of floor types and hardwood. Two major ideas that have to do with flooring are math and science. Math controls the area, angles, and other mathematical equations that go …show more content…
The main floors that come to mind when I think of the word “floor” are carpet, tile, and hardwood. Though there are many more types, carpet, tile, and hardwood are my main three. Carpet and tile don’t have a very great variety, but hardwood does. Hardwood has an entire range of colors and shades in wood as well as durability. Some of the more expensive floors are made of exotic woods such as Brazilian walnut, Tigerwood, Mahogany, and Cypress. One of the floors for me that is the hardest to put in and has the lowest durability is bamboo floor. Bamboo, might I add, is one of my most disliked floor types due to it being a pain to put in and the fact that it splinters easily. So remember these subjects and have them memorized while also remembering that flooring is a hard and challenging job that requires a lot of skill due to it involving lots of math and science, a specific design that needs to go with every type of floor, and a high variety of floor types and hardwood. Be prepared to work hard and may the outcome of your labor turn out to be all the better for

“Be more concerned with you character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” These words of John Wooden are just a few out of many wise quotes millions of people, not just athletes, are inspired by today and likely will continue to be inspired by for a very long time. Basketball fans and experts consider John Wooden as one of, if not, the greatest coaches of all time. Much of his success is a result of his beliefs and coaching system. Knowing the background of Coach Wooden’s playing and coaching career plays a significant role in understanding how he practiced his beliefs with his teams and how his philosophy and success intertwined to set a precedent for the remainder of collegiate basketball.

Bed of nails is originated at India and the practice is used today as primarily form of entertainment in festivals, shows and other events meant to surprise and impress the audience. A nail can certainly be harmful, but a certain amount of force can be applied to a nail head before pain takes place. A person’s weight can spread out over many nails and feel no pain. If a person lay on a bed of nail, the person’s weight is more or less evenly distributed on a nail. Since each nail undergoes a small amount of weight, the person experienced no pain. The general purpose of this study is to find out why some people can lay safely on a bed of nail without getting injured and prevent skin damage.
It also depends on brand; different brands have certain effects on certain floors. Most brands are made to bounce better on hardwood floors. The temperature of the room will also affect how you will dribble the basketball, because if the room is really warm, the ball will have more bounce because the atoms of air in the ball have expanded, which makes the ball even more expanded, and that makes the ball bounce more. If the room is cooler than the ball won’t bounce as well, because the atoms are more condense, and that makes the ball flat so it’s harder to dribble. Another variable is air pressure; air pressure is the force of air that expands from inside the ball to the surface of the ball.
On first thought, mathematics and art seem to be totally opposite fields of study with absolutely no connections. However, after careful consideration, the great degree of relation between these two subjects is amazing. Mathematics is the central ingredient in many artworks. Through the exploration of many artists and their works, common mathematical themes can be discovered. For instance, the art of tessellations, or tilings, relies on geometry. M.C. Escher used his knowledge of geometry, and mathematics in general, to create his tessellations, some of his most well admired works.
In picture two you can see the different sections of this building. You can see how the sections help organize the library. For example, most of the people feel safe being on the outside edges because they don 't like being the center of attention. This shape of a building helps these people feel better by adding the amount of space there is on the outside. In this same picture, we see how the different rooms of the building have a rectangular geometric shape. This is because the architect wanted to be the most efficient with the space he had. Finally in this picture, we are able to see how the reading room has the most amount of volume because it’s the activity most people go to the library for. These are the few reasons why I determined that in this building the social activities created the volume and geometry of the

Although some interior features have arts and crafts characteristic, Wright expresses his ideas by the inside and outside being so different, they appear to be two different buildings.
