One of the challenges that I have faced personally is being short. I consider my stature as a challenge because there are many factors that make it tough on me. The first factor is being teased and underestimated. In all of the years I spent in school, I was always the shortest in class. In junior high, I was always being called names such as midget and shorty. It was very tough for me to handle because it lowered my self-esteem.

It affected me a lot emotionally because it even made me question my importance in this world. Every time I played on the basketball court, I was always the last one to be called on a team because of my stature. Furthermore, another factor that makes it hard on me is feeling different from the rest. I always felt like a black sheep every time I saw taller people around me. Every time I had an activity to accomplish, the adversity that I've been through always ended up being the fuel to power me to complete that activity. It really shaped my character as a whole because it gave me another reason to work harder. I realized that instead of feeling bad about being a black sheep, I should feel good about it because God made me unique.

Academically, one of the challenges that I've faced was failing my math class in eighth grade. Since I failed my math class, I had to retake the class again in the summer to improve my grade. It was very embarrassing for me to tell my classmates who passed the class that I failed. It was also tough on me because it was my graduation year and I wasn't supposed to graduate due to failing a class. Fortunately, my principal still allowed me to walk on the stage because he felt sorry for me and didn't want me to get embarrassed in front of many
