Judaism is a Jewish religion. It is one of the oldest religions in the world. Judaism is a monotheistic religion. “Judaism teachings are that God was made an eternal convent with descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel)” (Pg.5,Richard Banks). The religion believe in what God has done in the past and what he continue doing in people life today. They believe that God is still working and that miracles that happen in people life is from the work of God. There are also holidays and celebrations year round like the Hanukkah , Passover and bar mitzvahs to commemorate what God has done and is still doing. During this holiday they join with there family's and sing traditional songs and eat traditional food and play game and pass around gifts. Another tradition that Jewish people have is called a bar mitzvah. Bar mitzvah mean son of commandment. A bar mitzvah is when a boy turns the age of 13 has to take responsibility of having the same right as a full grown man , he is now responsible for his own decisions and actions. They have a religious celebratory were the boy has to go to the altar and recite a section from the Torah. After the recite the family of the boy has to come and prayer over him after they sing traditional songs. Also after most family's have a dinner with friends and family at there house where they dancing and have a good time for the special occasion. Pass over is another major tradition that Jewish people recognize. A Passover is when the Jews take time of their day to remember the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. Not to mention prayer has a big role in the Jewish faith. The dynamic of the Judaism prayer is more than self-assessment that can accomplish by setting aside some time apart from everything to contemplate. The Jewish people think that “taking solitary walks in the woods are also ways of engaging and meditation” (Pg.7,Richard Blank). Meditation helps get the thoughts together for the prayer you will have. The prayer usually takes place in the synagogue at-least three times a day around morning, noon and evening. In the Jewish homes they have Jewish Siddur which contains all basic prayers. They have prayers for everything healing, the dead, wedding and etc. The Talmud of the Jewish faith defines prayer as an advocate haler of the heart. Prayer should express the deepest feeling and longing of the soul. Prayer also could be held with a group of people more than one in prayer. In prayer thanking God is very important thanking him for what he has done for you. Also being comfortable in prayer is very important being comfortable to ask God about anything.
