Hamlet's Insane Character Analysis

In William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, the main character Hamlet goes insane over trying to kill Claudius because he knows his uncle killed his father, he loves his mother, and feels that the throne of Denmark is rightfully his. Hamlet after hearing his father’s ghost is roaming around the castle (name of the castle) learns the truth about his father’s death and becomes enraged to kill Claudius. It is also apparent that Hamlet loves his mother very much and he is furious that his uncle Claudius has married his mother two months after his father died. Hamlet was also supposed to be the king following his father’s death but Claudius comes in and is the new king. Hamlet has numerous motives for wanting to kill Claudius. It is evident that Hamlet loves his mother and would do anything for her in this quote “Let not thy mother lose her prayers, Hamlet. I pray thee, stay with us. Go not to Wittenberg.I shall in all my best obey you, Madam”(). Hamlet does not go back to college because his mother tell him not too.
