Halloween
It was a dark and stormy Halloween night and Sal and Jess her best
friend were at Sal's house for the night to watch movies.
Knock, Knock, Knock, "Sal, someones at the door do you want me to answer
it?", Jess yelled to Sal who was upstairs doing her hair in the bathroom.
"Yeah Cool Jess its probably just some more annoying trick or treaters
anyway", replied Sal.
Jess got up off the couch and approached the door making sure to peer
through the peephole to see who it was. All she could make out were two
small dark figures so she guessed they were trick or treaters. She then
opened the door just enough so she could have the latch on. "Grrrrrrr we
are the creatures from hell", screamed the smaller of the two figures.
Both the figures were dressed with a bed sheet that had obviously been
painted black and thrown over their heads with just two tiny holes where
the eyes would be. The other figure then said "whats it gunna be lady,
trick or treat?" Jess opened the door fully now and beckoned them to come
inside. "Just wait here", she said as she ran up the stairs and into the
bathroom where Sal was still combing her hair.
"Sal what should I give those two boys", asked Jess. "I dunno give
them one of those chocolate things near the fridge", Sal replied. Jess
turned and went back down the stairs into the kitchen to find the bars.
"Are you still there boys?", she yelled. But there was no reply. Jess
stopped and went back to the front door. To her surprise the boys had
vanished and there was no sign of them. Fine she thought to herself at
least it saves two more chocolate bars for me.
Suddenly Jess heard a voice but she didn't know what it said or where it
was coming from. "Is somebody there?", Jess inquired taking a huge gulp
at the same time. "Yeah me", replied the voice in a strong tone.
Arggghhhhh Jess screamed as she saw a tall man bearing a long sharp knife.
Jess turned around and bolted back up the stairs as fast as she could.
"Sal, Sal the...the...theres a huge guy with a knife downstairs", Jess
stuttered. "What are you on about Jess?", replied Sal. "Im serious Sal
there's a guy with a knife downstairs and he's 'gunna' kill us", shrieked
Jess as the panic set in. Sal was begining to get worried now as she
tried to think straight.

He collapsed at the base of the house, the one with lights, music and grandparents. A young girl swung open the door and ushered the two inside.
When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.
The French and Indian War led to great change during the course of American History. It led to the end of French power in America which rewarded the British with French territorial claims. The gain of British lands evoked an abundance of taxes due to the great debt that the French and Indian War brought. As a result of the utmost taxation, the colonies strongly desired independence. The French and Indian War was the main cause of the American Revolution.
Although in another country Napoleon was still an active member of the Jacobions, (who had just overthrown and murdered the King of France Louis XVI) which angered the monarchist the King of Corsica, who declared the Bonapartes outlaws. Napoleon immediately fled with his family back to France, and rejoined the French military.
...nterests of France”(The Rise and Fall of Napoleon). If Napoleon had not been so greedy and power hungry, he never would never have been defeated. Even though he managed to escape from exile and regain power, and “War was renewed during Napoleon’s ‘Hundred Days,’ but his army was defeated decisively at the Battle of Waterloo(Biesinger), and he was exiled again, this time to Saint Helena, and he stayed there until he died. His last words were “I wish my ashes to rest on the banks of the Seine, in the midst of the French people which I have loved so much…I die before my time, killed by the English oligarchy and its hired assassins” (Godechot).
Horror movies have captivated audiences for over a century. People everywhere flock to theaters to view chilling horror movies like Saw, Insidious, or the Conjuring. There is just something about horror that humans can’t get enough of. So why do we pay to scare ourselves sick? Why do we pay good money to watch others murdered and tortured to death? What do we possibly get from it all? In a culture were peace and non-violence is constantly promoted, there is still a part of the human that desires the opposite. So why is it that people watch horror movies in the first place? Experts believe there are different theories on why, but the three biggest are: the thrill, the Gender Socialization theory, and simply just because people actually want a scare.
Napoleon Bonaparte was a ruthless killer who hungered for power alone. He sacrificed much in order to contribute a great deal to the world by winning battles and discovering things such as the Rosetta Stone in Egypt. His thirst for control and power cost him everything he worked so hard for consequently leading to exile.
In 1796 Napoleon was given control of an Italian army which helped defeat Austria. After that campaign he returned to France as a bigger hero than he originally was, but had to leave in 1798 to Egypt and Syria in order to threaten England’s imperialistic rule in Africa. Napoleon and his army returned in the August of 1799. Shortly after he took part in the Brumaire coup of November 1799, finishing as a member of the Consulate, France's new ruling triumvirate.
In life every great leader has had their own story to tell. Napoleon was born a Corsican, at Ajaccio, in 1769. He had seven brothers and sisters and he was also a descendent from the Florentine nobility. He moved to France and started school at the age of nine. At school he was picked on because of his Italian accent and because of his influent French. When he turned sixteen he joined the French artillery and became a lieutenant in a short period of time. Napoleon spent the next seven years reading the works of philosophers and educating himself in military matters, by studying the campaigns of great military leaders of the past. He then became a general and then in 1795 was appointed to stop an uprising in Paris and seceded in doing so. After stopping the uprising he was then given the position of commander in chief of the interior French army in Italy. In 1799 he was elected as the First Consul of France because the people were sick of the directory. He rose up in power in the military and also politically. He then formed his own empire and won many battles with his brilliance.
They resisted the continental system ? the system Napoleon set up ? based on Roman government, because it was cutting off their supply?s as it was aimed as destroying the British economy. Conflict broke out and Portugal violated the blockade against the British trade and Spain revolted against Napoleon?s brother?s rule. These small revolts resulted in guerrilla warfare ? small bands of troops that attack in short bursts. Napoleons worst battle was in Russia and it led to his downfall. Napoleon amassed a huge army when Czar Alexander I refused to suppress British trade, and marched on Russia in 1812. Napoleon wanted to fight the Russians in one big battle but the Russians, seeing that they were vastly outnumbered, withdrew and went back to Russia to build a better army. As they went back to Russia the instituted a ?scorched earth policy?, meaning, that they burned everythi...

Many events were unexplainable and maybe even seemed to be magical before science evolved to what it is today. All questions relating to the origin of life can be answered scientifically. One may question their beliefs based on scientific theory. Human life can be broken down to fundamental theory. Not only geological or biological, but also all events can be answered scientifically. Magic and magicians have certain function in society. The impossible becomes unexplainable, whether it is fact or fiction. But truly in the minds of magicians, their purpose in life is to leave a mystery, a mystery that science is unable to explain. They leave their mark and give people something to think about, a mark which will never be forgotten. Although magic is able to deceive the minds of many, few understand its effect of misdirection of the human mind.
Napoleon Bonaparte, the son of Carlo and Letizia Bonaparte, was born in Ajaccio, Corsica on August 15, 1768. In 1779, he was sent to a military school in Paris. He was made fun of by the French there, and gave him the dream of power. Napoleon was waiting for the right time to achieve greater power, and that moment came when the French monarchy was overthrown.
