The materials you will need to do this project are a curling iron, hairspray, a brush, and hair ties (optional). You need the curling iron to curl the hair. The hairspray is to spray all the pieces so they will stay all day. The brush is so you can brush out the pieces of hair so they look nice and brushed out and not tangly. Then, you can use the hair ties to put it in any hairstyle you want. It is optional though.
The first step is to plug in the curling wand and let it heat up for a few minutes. It depends on the type of curling wand you have to see how long it will take. The next step to curling hair is sectioning it off. I like doing it in three layers. So I take the bottom layer and put the rest up to a really high bun to get it out
of the way. You then take a piece of hair and brush it out then wrap it around the wand. You can wrap it towards you or away from you. I like doing both ways but, it’s whatever you like and want to choose. You are going to want to hold it there for 15-20 seconds. After you finsih each layer, you want to take the hairspray and spray the layers.

Hairspray, a John Waters’ musical, demonstrates progressive messages about the expansion of race-based civil rights in the 1960s . Although this is typically the lens through which Hairspray is viewed, this is not the only significant societal shift portrayed in the film. The stories of Edna Turnblad and Velma Von Tussle illustrate the progressive shift of women from “old” gender roles such as being excluded from the workplace to “new” gender roles where women begin taking managerial positions.
13. Also add a touch of hair spray to make the style last longer. (See Figure 1.12)
What could make a comedy film better? Combine it with a musical that will have you singing along with it. I have decided to look at the 2007 movie “Hairspray”. This is a light hearted film that is loved by all ages. While most see this movie as a comedy/musical the film can also add campy to its genre list. This movie address several different social issues while making the audience laugh and sing along with it. The main social issue at hand in this movie is that one of racism. This movie also touches on gender roles with John Travolta playing a woman, as well as being judged by personal appearances. The main character, Tracy Turnblad is at the center of all these issues.
Welcome to the 60’s, a time of sky-high hairdos, colorful clothing and jivin’ music. But beyond all the glitz and glamour of the era, segregation and discrimination is ever present in the city of Baltimore, until one big girl with even bigger ideas challenges the norm. In an infectious production of “Hairspray,” Thomas S. Wootton High School had the audience tapping their toes and moving to the beat all evening.
To achieve this marvelous hairstyle you are to start with a small curling iron to curl your hair. Then with the help of a backcombing brush create volume at the roots in the back of your head. The next step is to complete the French braid but quite loosely, for doing it you need to begin on one side of the head in the middle back area and to end on the opposite side at the nape of your neck. If you desire you may leave bangs. To give a messier look it is advisable to use a rat tail comb to pull out some pieces thus gently loosen the braid. In case you feel the necessity to place the curls that have fallen out of the braid you may use bobby pins. And finally, apply some light hold finishing spray. In addition, this pretty hairstyle for long hair will look great on every woman that wants to make her round face appear slimmer. And, of course, long and thick hair is perfect for this
I attended the Broadway show entitled "Hairspray." The show was performed at Neil Simon Theatre in New York City. The setting of the play took place in Baltimore in 1962. At the beginning of the play, we are led to believe that the main idea is about a teenage girl who is struggling to become popular and famous. The main character Tracy Turnblad, who is played by Shannon Durig, is a young, overweight, teenage girl.
“The Shampoo” by Elizabeth Bishop was written near the beginning of Bishop’s residence in Brazil and is a direct homage to her lover Lota. Bishop uses the mundane act of washing a loved one’s hair as the basis for a brilliant meditation on the nature and progression of time. In “The Shampoo” Elizabeth Bishop uses imagery, metaphor, and diction to compare the gradual movements in nature over time with the process of aging. Bishop draws a contrast between the process of aging and the timeless relationship she has with her partner.
Every day, people purchase products and pay absolutely no heed to what components may or may not be mixed into them, or how harmful the ingredients might prove to be. Among the shelves and rows of items in grocery stores and corner stores, there are countless types of hair spray. Now that the aerosol sprays no longer harm the Ozone layer, most people assume that the products are completely safe, and fail to consider what the sprays are comprised of. This essay will take a deeper look at the substances inside of Tresemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hair Spray, their functions, and their effects.
Before being able to actually apply the make up, the first thing is to get your products and then skin ready for the process. Start off by taking out all of the basic make-up needed :concelor, foundation, powder, make-up sponge, lipstick, lip gloss, eyeliner (liquid or pencil), mascara, hair tie, as well as face wash and face moisturizer. After everything is laid out in front of you, start with washing your face with the face wash, then dry your face off and apply face moisturizer. Afterwards, take the hair tie and pull of you hair back ( if needed use hair clips to pull your bangs back), this will prevent the hair from getting in the way and will allow you to see your entire face when applying foundation and powder. Finally once the moisturizer is fully absorbed and your face is completely dry, you are ready to begin applying the make-up.
Hair is an important part of our body. It can be found anywhere and can be a useful evidence in forensic science. It consists of three layers, namely cuticle, cortex and medulla. Cuticle- is a covering that consists of hard scales made of keratin, which is a protein approaching tip ends of the hair. There are three types of cuticle: coronal, imbricated and spinous types. Cortex consists of stretched out beam shaped cells, buried with pigment granules for hair to cede with color and is the main body of the hair shaft. It may also contain pigment granula, ovoid bodies and cortical fusi (Wright, 2008). Furthermore, medulla can be categorized into continuous, fragmental, absent and interrupted types. If medulla
Hairspray(2007), as many modern musical films do, integrates all of its music numbers into its story and structure in at least one way, if not more. The most obvious way that the songs are integrated is by the film being a backstage musical, one that focuses on the people who create entertainment related to music, in this case “The Corny Collins Show”. The backstage setting allows for the songs to naturally integrate into the story and diegesis. One way is for songs to be part of the music show, like “The Nicest Kids in Town”. A second way is by having songs, such as "Good Morning Baltimore", to come from characters that want to be or are involved with the show, even if the song is not directly in the show,
Hairspray was first released as a film in 1988, and it was later adapted into a musical in the early 2000’s by Shaiman and Whitman. Shaiman wrote the music, and Whitman wrote the lyrics. The musical won eight tony awards out of thirteen nominations. It was even awarded for Best Musical. The first musical ran for 2,642 performances.

Separating your hair is suggested because it makes cutting your faster and easier. Start by making a parting line from the point just behind the ears on one side to matching point on the opposite side. next , comb your hair toward the center of the section at the top of the head and twist it up into a knot and clip it with a clip. Do the same thing on the right and left sides. Then create a parting line down the center of the back of the
