Two of my all time favorite movies are High School Musical and Hairspray. Both of these musical romantic comedy movies exhibit singing and dancing. Their plot lines are similar due to the fact that they revolve around important auditions as well as high school drama while both including humorous elements. While some differences between the two are evident, the similarities are prominent. I believe that Hairspray is the better of the two because it includes a more serious racial theme and centers around the civil rights movement.

Without a good plot line, movies are hard to follow along with. Both of these fantastic movies revolve around drama as well as singing and dancing with a little bit of a love story. Although both of these movies attract my attention due to the reality aspect, one is slightly better than the other because it gives me a flavor of a time period where I was not yet born. I think Hairspray is more unique in its own way because it gives the audience an idea about life in the 1960’s from high school to an important historic time period. It also always keeps me wanting to watch more. To me this is more interesting than High School Musical because I first hand experience high school in almost the same scenarios.
High School Musical and Hairspray are both extremely good movies. From each movie we receive differences and similarities. Although some may disagree with me, the humor, historical background, the time period, and the plot all show a tendency towards Hairspray. To better understand my reasonings I suggest watching the movies for yourself and seeing what they have to offer.
