power you. Kronos adored his wife, Rhea. Kronos and Rhea had their first child, Hestia. Kronos was scared that she would over rule him someday, so Kornos ate Hestia to prove Gaea wrong. They had for more children, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon. Each time, Kornos embraced the babies, and Rhea though he would accept them but then he would eat them. 2. Rhea was upset with Kronos so she went to Gaea to ask for help. Gaea told Rhea that when it comes time for you to have another baby, take it to Mount Dicte, on the island of Crete. The nymphs will then nurse him with got milk. They will put him a cardle and hang him from a tree so Kronos cannot find him. Young warriors will then come a clang their swords and shields to block out the sound of his cries. When the time came for Rhea to give birth to Zeus, she traveled Mount Dicte, on Crete, gave birth to Zeus in the cave, grabbed a rock the size of a baby, wrapped in linen cloth, and gave baby Zeus to the nymphs. 3.When Rhea came back home, Kronos asked how her how she was feeling and he wanted to admire their latest child. Rhea gave Kronos the rock. Kronos thought the rock was a child, fearing the child might someday over rule him, Kronos ate the rock. Years passed and Kronos never knew that Zeus had escaped right under Kronos's eye. Zeus grew up. 4.One day Kronos was thirsty so Rhea gave him a tasty drink.
He wanted more. A young boy (Zeus) came and gave him another cup, and Kronos drank it without knowing that young boy was Zeus and that he had never seen him before. Kronos wondered who the young boy was and why he given him a drink. Kornos also wondered what he had given him and why his stomach felt so weird. Kronos then got a really bad pain in his stomach and through up the rock, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. Rhea then came into the room and stood by Zeus. She told him that Zeus was his son the prophecy was right an that Zeus was his son. Kronos did not believe her so he started a war to see who could when his place. Coronus was told a prophecy that one day when he had kids they would overrule him . So when Rhea gave birth to their kids Cronus swallowed them and when he tried so swallowed Zeus Rhea gave him a rock instead of a baby to salvage Zeus. Hades was the child of Kronos and Rhea, or the “abandon child.” Hades never had a good relationship with Kronos and Rhea. All children except Zeus were swallowed by Kronos. Kronos knew that Zeus would over throw him, because Kronos did the same to his father. Metis, Kronos’ daughter gave him a drug to vomit up the first stone and all the children in which Kronos had swallowed. Zeus saved Hades and Poseidon and they battled their father in the Titan War.
