I am passionate about making a difference in as many lives as I possibly can. As someone who is also passionate about having a successful future, I believe that achieving this scholarship will allow me to pursue these passions and attain my academic goals of going to graduate school to get my PhD and become a Clinical Psychologist, possibly transfer to UGA as a junior, and to be responsible with my money and the way that I spend it. If I want to get into graduate school I have to not only have the grades for it but also the money. I had a rough past and dealt with a lot of issues that most clinical psychologists focus on. I find myself to be a relatable person due to these experiences. This career is important to me because I want to help people see that there is still a great future ahead of you even after those experiences of no love and consistent pain of various kinds. I also want to help them realize that their struggles are not what define them but what strengthen them. To add on to that I have also been told that I am a very observant person …show more content…
I am not receiving any help from my adopted mom back home because she is a single parent with 5 adopted children. I spent most of my life having nothing to rely on but myself because I haven 't had very much support. As an adopted child, I learned to work hard for what you want in life and to not let your past mold your future this knowledge has led me to the goal of wanting to be as independent and responsible as I can. I want to be able to pay for things and not have to ask her for money that she really can 't provide. I will set aside money from every check/payment that I receive and put it into a savings account. I already have at least $9,000 in debt. It shows that I don 't want to wait until the debt is knocking at my door or lingering over my head. I would also consider myself to be responsible, dependable, and eventually financially
I believe that there are many reasons that I am well qualified to receive this “Courage to Grow” scholarship. One main point would be my excellence in leadership and community service. I currently serve as senior class Vice President and President of the Future Teachers of America club at Auburn High School. I am a class representative for our Student Council and am very involved with the children’s ministry at my local church, serving as a Kids Camp counselor and VBS assembly leader. Another reason I believe I should receive this scholarship is for my outstanding academic achievements. I have been inducted into the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honors Society. I have also received
In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my

Feel I qualify for this scholarship because I love to help people. Through different experiences, such as sports and school, I have learned and demonstrated various leadership skills. Being a Link crew leader not only taught me how to be a leader but, it help me have faith in myself and to always look up to younger people. I joined link crew so I could help our new 10 graders find their way around, and to feel included and accepted at their new school. For example during orientation in august I was giving good amount of advice to my sophomore group to be able to survive high school since I am a senior this year This made me proud and humbled that I could make a huge impact in someone's life. “I urge you to continue working hard to prepare for success and to become leaders in our community.” Frederica S. Wilson, a Member of Congress, wrote this in a letter given to me and a few other students after we attended the 5000 Role Models trip to the nation’s capital in 2017. I took this heart and have been preparing for success ever since then. I should be selected for this prestigious scholarship because I would use it to try to be as successful as possible. With all of the downfalls that I have experienced in my academic and personal life, a college education will make it possible for me to continue my journey into becoming a prestigious corporate lawyer. I have the drive for success and I am certain that with this scholarship I will be able to pay off my debt and help my mother with her own educational goals. I was content that I was able to encourage her to attend school and I am most fortunate to be given an opportunity to help both her and myself achieve our ultimate goals for the near future.
My entire life I have always been on the search of a career that would fit my persona, fit who I truly am, and to become someone who will constantly have the ability to help people through their difficult problems that they face. Throughout my life I have been deemed the type of person that people felt comfortable coming to with their problems. Maybe people feel this way because they sense that I have a sympathetic ear? Well, all I can say is that human behavior has always seemed interesting to me and that is probably why I made the decision to go down the psychology career pathway.
I choose to challenge myself by taking honors and AP classes. I can overcome obstacles that stand in my way and persevere through tough problems. I participate in school through my involvement in Student Council as an Executive Treasurer, Key Club as an active member, Varsity Tennis, Science Club, Band as Section Leader and National Honor Society. As well as in school, I help out in my community, whether it’s at my church, as a volunteer at the Bitterroot Public Library, or helping to preserve the Daly Mansion. If I am awarded this scholarship, I will use it towards college tuition and I will work hard to pursue my career as an
The ultimate reason I deserve this scholarship is because I won’t disappoint you. I am very hardworking and I like to take on challenges. Getting this scholarship would help me achieve my dream.
I am very caring and attentive towards others. It is important to me that my career shows proof of making a difference in the lives of others. Additionally, it is important for me to aid others in overcoming their challenges through therapy. My philosophy is that sharing the responsibility of pushing the boulder up the hill is better than pushing it alone. I want to be the support system my clients need and obtaining my masters in counseling through the University of the Cumberlands will help me do that.
One of the options in achieving my career goal is to go to graduate school after graduation. I have been interested in psychology since I was in middle school. At that time,
I was born in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, but lived the first ten years of my life in San Bernardo, a small town in the suburbs of the metropolitan area. To support the family, my father worked as a forklift driver, and my mother has a janitor. Early in my education, my dad seeking for better job opportunities moved back to Sao Paulo. However, living in the big city was far more expensive, and we end up in a poor neighborhood located fifteen miles from the downtown. I finished the high school in 1999 but instead applied for a college; I started working in one factory exactly like my father.
