I disagree that Gulliver is a naive narrator and therefore doesn't see a connection between knowledge and the acquisition of power. As R.Davis and R. Schleifer wrote, "Gulliver, gullibly suited like the rest of us, never quite understands the ... relationship between knowledge and power." There is a very close relationship between knowledge and power. With them being such important traits, each one seems to be included with the other. In Gulliver's Travels, by Jonathan Swift, the use of satirical writing on both the island of Lilliput and Brobdingang serve to make the narrator a gullible character therefore excusing critiques of English government and politics.

The Articles of Confederation was the United States first attempt at creating a democratic government. Instead of giving power to the central government they divided it up among the states (Kelly). This fact left the Articles with many weaknesses that ultimately led it to fail. The lack of a strong central government led to economic disorganization, no central leadership and an ineffective legislative, all which led to its downfall (Brackemyre). Leaving power to the states left the nation in a state of economic disorganization. Without the national government having the power to levy taxes, it was left with the states (Murphy). The legislature only had the right to request taxes, and it was left up to the states how they wanted to raise them, but they oftentimes weren't (Brackemyre). The first voyage is to Lilliput, the people who reside here are called Lilliputans. Gulliver is seen as a giant here because the people of Lilliput are extremely tiny; not six inches high (3). The Lilliputians are a political satire of the England of Swift's time. For reference, England and France kept having constant wars as to Lilliput and Blesfuscu. On the day of November 22, 1963 the day started out just like any other campaigning day for president John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Shaking hands and kissing babies was just the daily norm for the president of this great nation, but it all turned south in a quick hurry… John F. I happen to believe in a not so common theory in which the man behind it the assassination was none other than the jealous Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson. LBJ was a dangerous man, he had many connections to mafia members, ex and current CIA members some of which had great feelings of hatred towards our president, even Johnson himself had many reason to dislike Mr. Kennedy but was LBJ really behind the murder our great president John F. Kennedy, that is what I intend to learn much more about. To better understand my theory I will give you just enough background information on some of the other common conspiracy theories, starting with the Warren Commission Report.

This quote, stated by William Henry Seward, displays the strength and stability that the Constitution had over the nation, and the liberty and justice it supplied for all of its citizens. Although the Constitution and the Articles of Confederation have similarities, they have many differences, which proved that the Articles of Confederation were a weaker document in comparison. It can be said that the Articles were the “rough draft” to the final living document, which significantly influenced and “ruled” our government, as it still does today.
In the writing's of the Jonathan Swift we can clearly see issues and concepts with regard to morality, ethics and relations come into play in our society and in Gulliver's Travels, Swift brings those issues to the for front for everyone to see and analyze. The very concepts and beliefs that man holds dear Swift attacks and strongly justifies his literary aggression thought the construct of the society of the Houyhnahnms who truly leads a just and humane society that we as humans (Yahoos) have the faintest concept of. As I will later point out, Swift also deals with human ignorance and the overall belief that nothing in this earth can be more civilized and exert more reason then us. He uses the characters of the Houyhnahnms to demonstrate our inadequacies and overall failures to exert and practice true reason. Issues such as war, corruption, rape, homosexuality, lying (false representation), slavery, bribery, greed, and murder does not exist in a society that understands the true meaning of reason. We can clearly see the metamorphosis of Gulliver from is departure from his wife and children to being mutinied to his initial encounter with the Yahoos as well as the Houyhnahnms, to his experiences over a 5 year period in his interactions with the Houyhnhnms to his departure and return home to his wife and kids we can clearly see the change from a man (yahoo) to a Houyhnhnm (in spirit). So as we take a closer look at Gulliver's travels, we will see that the Voyage of the Houyhnhnm is about change, understanding, and clarity of oneself, his beliefs, morals and values.
Although they kept some things in the Constitution they did make key changes that would make an impact on the U.S and how things would be run. There were key differences between the two documents, e.g., The voting power for states was based on committees and each state had one vote in the Articles of Confederation; the Articles of Confederation had a single legislature but the Constitution created a bicameral system. So, the Constitution stated that for each state each legislative representative (Senator and House Representatives) would have a single vote.
The first voyage of Gulliver takes him to the isle of Lilliput. There, he must play to a petty and ineffectual government. Swift uses several devices to highlight the Lilliputian stupidity. First, they are physically agile and graceful in comparison to Gulliver, who is portrayed as cumbersome and brutish.

At the time he was writing much more of the “new world” had been explored and colonized, giving Swift with the ability to create a traveller to poke fun at and critique the men who had previously made themselves out to be heroes by creating a fiction often more believable than the supposed truths. Gulliver’s admiration for other societies resembles that of Hythloday and his experience in Utopia. Both of these book show how writers back in Europe wished the explorers would have been more earnest in their descriptions of societies in the new world. During the voyage to Laputa, Gulliver commends the Laputians on their study of comets, even saying that ".
