Summary During this week’s group session the focal point was trying to figure out how we could come to a resolution with all parties involved but also to make sure that Jose is back in school receiving an education. Our group discussed all the difficulties that would be involved with trying to come to a compromise but felt like it was possible by starting with having both, Jose and the school tell us what they would like from each other. We then discussed what tasks would help us achieve our goal and if it was a real situation, which of us would be responsible for completing those task.

You may not understand something but one of your group members can phrase it different or tell you what they got from the problem and that may help you understand it. Groups also help stimulate conversation because it helps you build off someone else’s thoughts. When listening to the other members speak, you may realize that you agree or disagree, which will create more conversation.
This session helped me realize how valuable groups can be.
Conclusion
According to Toseland, motivation is the key to a successful group (p. 217) and as a whole, we were not motivated at first. As our leader, Brianna did a good job reminding us all that we all had logs do (that was our main motivation) and then as we got deeper into the case study, we were more into it than I thought we would be. This session helped me appreciate how beneficial working in groups could be. This session made me realize how important it is to have groups for motivational purposes. Knowing that everyone was feeling drained made me participate more because I knew it was going to take everyone’s input since we were all feeling the same way. As a team, we were able to help each other get through the case study and discuss what we would need to do to help
For that reason, our group struggled to continue a conversation. Certain people in my group did not take part in the conversation, and I believe myself and two others controlled the entire discussion. Additionally, one other member contributed little and did not present any statements to completely answer a question. Other groups struggled with the same situation. Instead of debating over a certain topic, we tended to agree with each other and then exhaust our concepts that related to the specific question that was asked.
Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.
If you are studying together it is very helpful, and you will get a lot done. Also, with a group mind, if you are doing a project for work/school there is always somebody there to look over your work, just in case you mess up. Then, if you are doing a project with some a lot of calculations, having a group is very helpful. In case you mess up or just do not see a mistake you made on a calculation and correct it, so you do not have to get some points taken off for getting it wrong. There are pros and cons to this subject matter, but I think the cons outweigh the pros.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.

Groups are less likely to suffer from judgmental biases that individuals have when they make decisions. People are more likely to follow through on decisions made by groups that they are connected to. Also, more monumental decisions can be made in groups, because one member will not be singled out for blame, making the entire group responsible.
Group formation or formation of cliques is typically seen as the stereotypical jocks, cheerleaders, geeks, or nerds. But what most do not necessarily take into consideration is that members of each group have an existing commonality between them even if most of the members do not know what that common trait is. Being a part of a group can have an impact on an individual. Through group discussion, individuals only strengthen their beliefs due to the fact that they know that they are not alone in those beliefs since they have friends
The group observation occurred at an International school. The primary school counselor was the facilitator. He meets with individual classes every month. The ages of the students range from 3-11 years old, which represented Pre-k through 5th grade. Each class is pulled out to the counselors classroom for a 45 minute session led by the school counselor. The counselors classroom has minimal distractions with lots of positive quotes. The chairs are set up in a semi-circle so that all can look at each, along with some students sitting on a carpet in the middle.
Groups help those that have been taken advantage of to talk about what happened to them with people in the group, in doing so they can sense sensitive liberation. The other participants can support each other by centering on solving any current, challenging conducts if they tried to do by themselves would be tough. "Victims of abuse whether it is physical, psychological, sexual, or neglect have a number of common characteristics such as low self-esteem, self-blame, unresolved anger, and an inability to trust". Talking about what happen with those who have gone through the same thing and people relating with each other is a huge beneficial meaning. When people who suffer from being abused join a group; it aids them to halt the progression of seclusion which is very mutual in this type of group helping them to relate in a strong, energetic method. So often the people of the group have become fighters to gain their freedom from the abuse. They start to think of the group as fresh families where the parents are supportive and as they grow they help others gain their freedom. When the group is formed it is suggested that only six people are allowed in the group; giving each victim to have time to talk and relate with each other.
The small in-class groups were composed of social work graduate students taking Advanced Groups class. Our in-class small groups represented formed groups because we came together “through some outside influence or intervention.... for a particular purpose” (Toseland & Rivas, 2012, p. 13). The purpose of our groups which “identifies the reasons for bringing members together” (Toseland & Rivas, 2012, p. 13) was to accomplish a task assigned to us by our professor. I participated in several task groups, where “the overriding purpose is to accomplish a goal that is neither intrinsically nor immediately linked to the needs of the members of the group” (Toseland & Rivas, 2012, p. 13).
Journal A Nickname: Rose Before I start this semester, I was told that there will be in class group simulation. I felt worried because I had no idea how it is going to be. My main concern was ethics.
In a collaborative group from past experience and from how I know myself, playing the role of the information taker and group speaker is my specialty. This role for me had no benefits of learning because often I wouldn’t have to seek information; I was given information to record. Ultimately not seeking information resulted in not learning anything pertaining to the subject at hand. The role of not having to do anything but to record information and speak on behalf of the group effected the group by not having one more person who was seeking information.

It occurs when someone who was entrusted to manage or monitor someone else’s money or property steals all or part of that money or property for personal gain. The defendant has to have legal access to another’s money or property, but not legal ownership of it. For the past seven years, I have been working across the country as a sailing coach. Whenever I’m coaching, I am always learning different things about both the people and me I am coaching. There are various aspects of coaching all of which stem from a series of traits. To coach sailing one needs to be spontaneous, aggressive, supportive, inspiring, organized but most importantly a leader. This turned out to be the positive group experience for me and other group members. The team was sufficiently strong from the very beginning through the development phase to the end without any incident of conflict and disagreement.
