In the case of Schmidt v. Massapequa High School, the plaintiff, Schmidt, alleged negligent of the voluntary assistant coach and Massapequa UFSD (Union Free School District). During the practice, D’Agostino picked the plaintiff up and threw him to the ground. While they were matching, D’Agostino’s body fell onto the body of the plaintiff, causing the plaintiff’s injury, fracture. Thus, the plaintiff, Schmidt, argued that Massapequa UFSD did not supervise D’Agostino correctly, and stated that the application of the doctrine of primary assumption is unwarranted. The plaintiff submits his own affidavit, his mother’s affidavit, and an affidavit of Steven Shettner. Since this case was submitted by the plaintiff, it is considered as a civil case. The primary responsibility of student discipline falls on the school officials. Disciplining students helps with keeping order in the school, and the main reason for discipline is to keep the safety of entities of the school. However, discipline can be hard when the issues happen outside school grounds, especially for issues that occur through social media platforms, also known as off-campus speech. Off-campus speech is very tricky to deal with, and as school personnel, we need to make sure we do not take action based on students’ opinions until we know the facts and the law behind our actions.
In David Denby’s piece, “High-School Confidential: Notes on Teen Movies” he argues that teen movies are nothing more than an unrealistic exaggeration of the social hierarchy in high school. Denby suggests that these films can be classifies as revenge fanaticism, created by the “nerds” that were bullied throughout high school. He also draws a connection to the Littleton shooters, proposing the idea that Klebold and Harris must have forgotten the plot twist in real life. Instead of going to extreme measures for revenge, if they had just waited it out, they would have owned software companies living the high life, whereas the jocks and the bullies would be selling used cars or insurance.

In chapter 10 the book talks about Juvenile courts. Juvenile court is a court of law that has jurisdiction over minors. The purpose for juvenile courts is to offer juveniles justice and treatment. In most states, juvenile court purpose clauses fall into one or more of five categories (Synder and Sickmund 2006, 98). The five categories are balance and restorative justice clauses, standard juvenile court act clause, legislative guide clause, clauses that emphasize punishment and traditional child welfare. In all states the courts puts children under three classification. The first one is those who are neglected or abused. The second is status offenders. The third is those who broke the law. There has been several issues on deciding if a child can tried in an adult court. What’s the appropriate age? The nature of the crime depends on if the child will be tried in adult court or not.

In my time at Haddonfield Memorial High School I have choose to take some of the hardest classes and pack the most into each year. With six to seven classes and very few study halls or electives, my days are filled with academically challenging class after class. I always come home in the spring after picking schedules with the excitement that I have picked the hardest classes and have one of the most rigorous schedules. For some this may seem daunting, and at times it can be, but I also love learning, and because I have taken every class I can and pushed my self there are so many interesting things I would have never learned if I haven't done that.
During fourth and fifth grade, I was among the group of kids that were at the top of the school. All of the younger children looked up to us and copied the actions that they saw us doing. These we the last years for the fun and games for me. My work would later get more difficult since I made the transition from easy work to the more difficult. These were the last years that we had recess after lunch. We would no longer have one teacher teaching us every subject. For all of elementary school I was at Upson which is now known as Shoreview Elementary. I think that every year someone looked out for me because I was always blessed enough to have the good teachers for each particular grade. These teachers always saw potential in me and from a young age they always told me that they knew that I would do great
During the late 1800’s there was a decision made that children that had been accused of a crime would not be given the brutal treatment and punishment that the accused adults get. But instead they would help make sure the child knew what they had done wrong. They would try to “fix” the child. It first started with a trained social worker gathering information about the child’s background, history, likes, and dislikes. They would then head over to the judge tell or give them the data. After this the judge will discuss with the child about their troubles. Then it would be decided what would happen to the child, whether they would be given a warning, be on an experimental period, transferred to somewhere else, or if they would be sent to a place
My realtor previously said, “Out of all the places you lived, Lindale will by far be the best and most favorite ever.” By the age of fourteen I had moved four times across the country. The United States consists of millions of towns with millions of inhabitants; however, when a foreigner invades the people are not consistently cordial.
During my Senior year at Middletown High School they added a brand new class called Career Internship, I was lucky enough to be apart of the first ever Internship class at Middletown High School. There was many options for my Internship but one stood out more than others. I chose to go to Miller Ridge Elementary with the gym teacher. I worked with fourth and fifth graders and played with them and teach them how to do the activities. I feel like me being there with the kids they would try their best and put their best effort into the games we’re playing. One of my favorite memories was when you would walk in and all the kids would be so excited to see you, they would be jumping up and down yelling my name and run up to me and I would give every
