The show Grey’s Anatomy is written by Shonda Rhimes, who is an African American women aged forty six who holds a bachelors of arts from Dartmouth college and a masters of fine arts from the University of Southern California. Rhimes has said that she always had an affinity for storytelling and that the time she spent as a hospital volunteer while in high school really began her to develop an interest in hospital settings. After the events of 9/11 happened Rhimes began to think more about motherhood and stayed home a lot taking care of her baby, during which she spent a bit of time watching real life surgeries on tv and this helped fuel what would become the pilot episode of greys Anatomy. The show grey’s Anatomy follows the professional, personal, …show more content…
and love lives of the Seattle Grace Mercy west interns, residents and attending’s. Interestingly enough Grey’s Anatomy is extremely peculiar in the regard that it isn’t contained to any one genre as it has multiple genres’ it occupies such as medical drama, and romantic drama. Furthermore ,the reason that Grey’s Anatomy is quite successful in capturing an audience’s attention is due to the fact that they use ethos by the way that the show uses intelligent dialogue between the doctors and patients as well as overall intelligent dialogue between themselves that suggest that the doctors distinguish what they are talking about, which stays a key component for a medical drama since the audience has to feel as though the characters are using words that real life doctors would practice to address patients as well as discuss patient care. I believe the target audience for grey’s anatomy is always growing due to the fact that the type of recurring cast members is expanding as well as the filler roles that people play. Many different people ae portrayed such as heterosexuals, homosexual, Jews, and Christians. Additionally, being a romantic drama the show uses pathos to grow to the emotion of the audience and make the audience truly feel for the character's well-being as well as the characters’ personal relationship that the characters developed on the show. Most importantly for a medium like which is television, Grey’s anatomy has to encompass logos due to the fact that the show has to perform at a certain level in order for the show to remain on air, which remains a vast part of why certain aspects of the show exist such as they play on personal relationships among the doctors as well as the doctor’s live extending beyond the hospital. As opposed to a novel were every line of script is read by the reader or film were the audience only has one experience to the film in the moment, the television series grey’s anatomy works as a television show because it reaches a very broad audience by having characters that the audience can relate to such as Arizona Robbins who was introduced in the fifth season as a pediatric surgeon and though she is initially very cheerful and upbeat the dynamic of her character changes after she has to have her leg amputated and it causes her the dynamic of her character to change to a more bitter and harsh personality to the ones she loves which works for the genre of medical drama as well as romantic drama as it portrays the fact that being a doctor takes its toll on a person and some time it affects the person’s personal relationships just like any regular relationship if not more so given the nature of the line of work a surgeon has to endure.
Additionally the character Arizona Robbins is a lesbian and has been portrayed as such since she came to be on the show, now the addition of this aspect of her character definitely extends the target audience of the show due to the fact that Robbins becomes a main character and shows that Robbins character is equal to any other character, as well as the fact that Robbins has a very strong personality and is a good teacher and mentor for her residents. Robbins’ main love interest throughout the majority of the show is Callie Torres who is an Orthopedic surgeon who unlike Robbins started the show as a resident and has always been very vocal about her opinions and beliefs which is why many people like her character, additionally the character starts the show by dating men, even marrying a man before the get a divorce a little bit into the marriage and after this she explores the world of dating women before finally concluding that she likes women the same way that she likes men which is when she starts seeing robbing. Callie’s
character alone show topic that ae popular today such as marriage, divorce, exploring sexuality, same gender dating, and eventually same sex marriage as Callie and Arizona get married. When it comes to the medium of television and reaching a bigger audience based on the genre Shonda Rhimes does a great job in making the characters personality and relationships multidimensional, additionally the inclusion of all the different medical specialties on the show such as ortho, neuro, cardio, plastics, and general add the element of being fresh and new every episode due to the fact that there is a diverse amount of material to show each episode when it comes to the cases that come in or the relationships that the doctors have. Another advantage that television has over almost any other medium is that it is continuous and allows for expansion upon plot and character development and see is Grey’s is constantly adding new characters and new tweaks to the main story it works well as a television show. Grey’s anatomy is by no means a family show as there is constantly strong sexual references and language, though the aspect of the doctors having to tell the patients family that the loved on is dead targets the emotion of family and unity in the audience.

The very beginning of the novel The Death Cure by James Dashner starts off with Thomas, the protagonist, trapped in a solid white room. He is trapped there for months. As he is in the room, he may have thought “ Oh, me, myself and I, solo ride until I die” (G-Eazy). This is a lyric from G-Eazy’s Me, Myself and I. The song is about being alone and not wanting to be with no one. Although Thomas does wish to see and to somebody, he goes perseveres through his problems just like the singer in the song.
For my movie choice, I decided to view, “Switched at Birth” Season 1: Ep.1.What I found truly captivating is how concerned Daphne’s biological parents were of her condition, while the woman who raised her attempts to show the Kennish family that deafness is not a weakness. The first episode was very informative on how Daphne went deaf after catching meningitis. Throughout the episode, the viewer can clearly see how the hearing and deaf community perceive each other and it presents itself when the Vasquez and Kennish Family unite.
“Everybody Loves Raymond” is a television show that only few people today can actually say they had not seen this sitcom. It was one of the highest rated show during it run on CBS television network but has anyone ever noticed how much of a gender stereotype bonanza this show was? Most sitcoms follow the same pattern with the primary goal to make us laugh that, we tend to ignore the obvious and just assume this was the expected behavior for men, women even children in our society. I watched the first two episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, the show was about a stay at home mother Debra and her husband Raymond who goes to work, while her in-laws who lives across the street are always barging in to her home without a thought about what
Holden not only liked him the best out of the entire family, but he idolized Allie. He though that Allie was the most special person in the entire world. The author decided to change her major from pre-med to English even though people said that writing was her worst talent. She started writing nonfiction at that time but eventually in 1985 began to write fiction. Seinfeld used to be one of the most watched television shows in the world. Some of its characters such as Kramer and Jerry became household names. With each character having a comic flare and so much character development, it was definitely a show to be reckoned with. It was so big that Jerry made one million dollars a episode, while his co-stars were paid six hundred thousand per episode. Although this show was not being made when I was born, I watched one episode of it and have been eagerly excited about it every since then. I love to see how each of the characters are developed and learn how much work ethic they put in to make these comic roles so successful. Also, my favorite character is Kramer because I see that I have a lot of similarities
Throughout six seasons of AMC’s ongoing hit show The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes, the main protagonist, has grown from: a tough guy police officer with a soft heart for helping others (almost always coming with a great personal risk) to the ultimate leader and survivor. During Rick’s character arc, he goes through three major phases that reflect his morals and view of the world. These changes are then highlighted by the various brutal gory kills Rick has achieved. When my mom asked if I wanted to see this year’s Lakeside musical, I honestly was a bit unwilling. It’s not that I didn’t want to support my two or three friends up on stage and in the crew; I just don’t have a very good track record with high school performances. I’m a critic: I have always been very critical of myself, and very critical of others. I unwittingly judge the actors onstage, and end up feeling guilty because I probably could have done no better. On top of this warped superiority/inferiority was the nature of the musical they were performing; all throughout third grade I had been obsessed with the movie-musical Hairspray. I knew all the songs, most of the lines, and wasn’t sure if anyone could top Queen Latifah. But I was mistaken.
