[Demeter] We should go get something to eat [Thor] Great idea, I'll drive. My keys are right next to my hammer- WHERE'S MY HAMMER [Apollo] It’s fine, we’ll just take my sweet chariot. Where do you want to go? [Thor] No guys, we can't go until we find my hammer. I--- [Demeter] I say In-n-out. Being goddess of harvest I’ve seen a lot of foods and In-n-out has some of the best I’ve ever had. [Apollo] Thor, it’s In-n-out, burgers worthy of the gods, just come. [Thor] Buts is my hammer, I love my hammer. Hmm but I also love In-n-out. [Demeter] Come on we can get your hammer later. [Thor] Fine. It's probably either the frost giants or my stupid brother Loki. [Demeter] It's so nice of you to drive us Apollo [Apollo] It’s fine you’ll just pay [Demeter] …show more content…
Wait what! [Apollo] and off we go. [Thor] One of the main reasons I defend Asgard is that there is an In-n-out there. [Demeter] That shouldn’t be your motive. [Thor] Why not? Have you been there it's heavenly. [Demeter] Of course I’ve been there. During the half of the year while my daughter is gone and I don't let anything grow I always had to make sure In-n-out had food. I mean I needed some good place to eat. [Apollo] I don't eat out much as you can tell from my astounding abs. But when I do eat out, I go to In-n-out. It's a great quick place to eat while I pull off amazing pranks and mischievous acts. I almost got thrown out of the Olympia. [Thor] Well if you do get kicked out anytime soon hook me up with your chariot. This thing is sweet. [Apollo] No way! This is my most prized possession. [Thor] Then I'll just take it. [Apollo] I swear upon the river Styx that if you steal my chariot I will kill you.
[Demeter] That doesn't say much. You always break your promises. [Apollo] No I don't [Thor] Ya, you kind of do [Apollo] I am so tempted to shrivel you up into- [Demeter] Calm down guys. Besides, we are here. [Thor] ooh I’ll order first, I’ll take a quadruple-triple- [In-n-out worker] We don't have those. [Thor] oh. OK. Then ill have five double-doubles with fries and a shake. [Demeter] Whoa! That's a lot of food Thor. I'll take a grilled cheese. [Apollo] WHAT! We come all the way to a fast food burger place for you to get a grilled cheese! You even said you liked this placed but you have never had a burger. Hey, worker lady doesn't make her order, and I'll take a cheeseburger with a large drink. [Demeter] Why did you cancel my order! [Apollo] Getting a grilled cheese at a burger joint is offensive to the gods, the human race, and In-n-out. For your dreadful deeds, you still have to pay for me and Thor's meal. [Thor] Naw its fine watch this. (Clears throat) Are you an appendix cause I have this feeling in my stomach that I should take you out. [In-n-out worker] Eww no. I need $26.83. [Apollo and Demeter laugh] [Thor] That usually always works. No one has any respect for gods these
days.

The only true statement that Oedipus makes in this quote is pointing out the Queen’s shame. Iocastê has just come to the realization that Oedipus is her son. She must be beyond embarrassment not only because of her failed attempt to abandon her son, but also because she is now married to him. Oedipus believes his birth to be lowly and he takes pride in this. In reality, he is the son of a king.
The Dark Side of the All-American Meal, a work examining the country’s fast food industry (Gale). Schlosser sets off chapter 5: “Why the Fries Taste Good,” in Aberdeen,
“Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given,” (1.32-34) is a simple quote reminding us the entities in charge of all characters in the poem The Odyssey – the gods. Hubris, or excessive human pride, is most detested by the gods and likewise is most punishable by them. The Odyssey is a story about Odysseus and Telemachus, two heroes who throughout their adventures meet new people and face death many times. Telemachus goes to find his father after he learns from Athena that he is still alive. The two meet, and Odysseus attempts to go back to Ithaca after he was lost at sea, and on his way there becomes one of the most heroic characters in literature as we know it. Like all heroic characters, Odysseus began to display hubris as he learned how true of a hero he was. James Wyatt Cook, a historian and an expert on The Odyssey, wrote about how hubris can affect the characters that display it. He says, “Because Homer’s Odyssey is essentially comic, that episode [opened wind bag destroys ship] is only one of a series of setbacks Odysseus experiences before reaching his home in Ithaca and recovering his former kingdom and his family. Such, however, is not the case for those who display hubris with tragic outcomes.” (Cook 1) Initially, Odysseus learns about Aias who died as a cause of the excessive pride he portrays. Proteus warns Odysseus when he says, “…and Aias would have escaped doom, though Athena hated him, had he not gone widely mad and tossed outa word of defiance; for he said that in despite of the gods he escaped the great gulf of the sea, and Poseidon heard him…...
Odysseus (Ulysses in Roman) was one of the great Pan-Hellenic heroes of Greek mythology. Famous for his courage, intelligence and leadership he was most recognized through his resourcefulness and oratory skills. Throughout classical literature and through many authors Odysseus’ characteristics have changed as much as the stories that surround him. The epic and tragedy I will focus on in particular is The Odyssey by Homer and Hecuba by Euripides. The defining characteristics of Odysseus ranges widely as is shown in Homer’s The Odyssey and Euripides’s Hecuba. The figure of Odysseus in homers The Odyssey is the antithesis of the Odysseus in Euripides Hecuba due to their historical contexts and respective audiences.
Picture this: a hero of great legends who travels to the underworld and back to get directions to his home from a blind prophet. It sounds like quite an impossible journey, but that is exactly what makes Odysseus all the more fascinating. The Odyssey, an epic poem orally transmitted by Homer, a Greek poet who wrote The Iliad, had to contain some variety of attributes that Greeks valued in a person. That one embodiment of what the Greeks found intriguing in a character is Odysseus. Odysseus is known as what is called an epic hero. An epic hero is a protagonist of a story that represents the most important attributes of a civilization. Odysseus, being based in ancient Greece, is the embodiment of intelligence, loyalty, and strength.
Odysseus is one of the very many prominent characters in Homer’s Epic poems, The Illiad, and The Odyssey. Odysseus has been famed one of the more relatable characters from Homer’s writing, as well as one of the Greatest Greek Mythology Heroes. Homer’s Epic poems highlight many periods of shame and honor for Odysseus. The character analysis of Odysseus through the poem’s timeline shows vast developments and heroic features appear to take form in him. The Illiad portrayed Odysseus as more of a secondary figure behind Agamemnon and Achilles. In contrast, The Odyssey portrayed Odysseus as a hero in the form of an average human.
People learn lessons every day. They can either learn them the easy way, or they can learn them the hard way. Homer documented Odysseus’ journey back to Ithaca in The Odyssey. In this journey, Odysseus learns several life lessons that applied to our lives.
If someone asked me which of my two favorite restaurants I like the more, my response would be,
“Men hold me / formidable for guile in peace and war (Homer 488).” The quote in the beginning of Book 9 perfectly sums up Odysseus because he does indeed fulfill what he states. Odysseus is a hero that would be known for his effectiveness in war and, generally, his great ability to overcome other troubles. He cleverly maneuvers his crew eventually back to their homeland surmounting many perils that any other person could not. He never loses hope and he never lets it get in his way. In the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus is a hero because Odysseus is loyal to his crew, he is a clever and intelligent man, and he is a courageous soldier and leader on the voyage back to Ithaca.
For millions, fast food restaurants are the source of positive associations with birthday parties, play dates and accessible comfort food. For others, they represent a lifeline meal on a busy day, or the secret to quieting a cranky toddler on a long trip because hurrying residents of cities have no time to cook a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fast food presents even in the lives of people who are trying

McDonald’s Golden French Fries, KFC’s Tender Chicken, Subway’s Scrumptious Subs, Taco Bell’s Mouth-Watering Tacos, all of which and more Americans devour on a regular basis. Though food items such as Tacos and Hamburgers were introduced in the late 19th century- early 20th century, fast-food restaurants however did not come into existence till’ early 1920’s. The first fast-food chain was opened in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas. They opened up selling burgers, fries and cola all for a mere price of 5 cents. Fast-food restaurants however did not become popular until after World War 2, when America officially becomes a fast-food nation. White Castle’s founder Walter Anderson’s business model was to have limited amount of choices in immense volume at a low cost. On top of this, the new hamburger restaurants were to serve their customers at lightning quick speed. All of which that creates the business models of fast food franchises, all over the world today. On the other hand the McDonald brothers introduced the method of making food at a low production cost. Making the food the customer eat low quality but still be giving costumers mouths tastes of heaven. Millions of Americans everyday munch on fast-food; although a vast number of Americans detests the fast food industry argue it has led to obesity and frailty in America. On the other hand numerous Americans argue saying that the Fast-food chains have boosted the unstable American Economy and continues to produce jobs compared to many America corporations who outsource their jobs. This brings up the question, is the fast food industry a devil or angel to this fast food nation?
Follow me. Seek me. Find me. Once this is done a man is closer to his calling. Once this is done a man is then closer to the wisdom and peace of the world. All facets of one’s life must unite together if one is to truly live a life. Listen to the sky. Listen to the trees. Listen to the ground. They tell a story of which you have heard before. A story that belongs to you but also to the everything and the universe. The instinct you feel inside you is not one of false perception but one of nature. One should be silent but also let their vibrations be felt throughout. Some refer to me as The Way. Some call me the order of nature and law of things. Some should call me their guide post along the many path on which one journeys. You Odysseus, are
The understanding of food influences a persons decision on what to eat on a daily basis. The understanding of food can also be broken down into five categories: health, body image, race, class, and gender. These factors pressure people on not only what to eat but also where to eat. The BK Veggie Burger has an interesting background as well as challenges all the factors noted. It was brought to the United States menu in 2013, while being available on menus across other countries, such as India. The burger is comprised of a MorningStar Farms Garden Veggie Patty and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, white onions, pickles, ketchup and mayo topped with a toasted sesame seed bun. Burger King is using the MorningStar patty for the first couple of years until they see sustainable profit for the veggie burger. The BK Veggie Burger along with Burger King has now created an interesting argument on healthy foods in fast food chains. The BK Veggie Burger challenges the way people view a meal through not only health, body image, race, class, and gender but also from an author’s opinion and portrayal of what is and isn 't
