Gravity
The gravitational force at the surface of the planet is the force that binds all bodies to earth, this force is one of the four forces recognized by physicists, and this kind of force is known as "gravity" it attracts every celestial object to earth, and though it is the most important of the forces essential for our lives, it is the least comprehended of them all Throughout ages scientists have tried to solve the mystery of gravity, and one of the first discoveries concerning gravity was made by Aristotle who concluded from his experiments that the downward movement of any body is that has weight had a proportional relationship between its quickness in motion and its size. However this theory was accepted for centuries, but after a series of experiments made by Galileo, Aristotle's theory was proved to be incorrect, as Galileo said after a series of experimenting at the Pisa tower that bodies of different sizes fall with the same speed. Later on, the idea that the force is needed so as to change the motion of the body was discovered. After that a great scientist was to improve all the previously accepted theories, this scientist was Newton who was to make decisive advances in understanding gravity. In his first law Newton said that a body in state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line will keep on moving unless acted upon by a force, while in his second Newton expressed his first law in a more quantitative way as he said that force acting on a body is the rate of change of it's momentum which can be put in a rule as F= ma Where (F) is the force acting on the body while (a) and (m) are the acceleration and inertial mass of the body respectively. Newton also made the law of gravitation in which he expressed the gravitational force of attraction between any two bodies acting along the line joining them as Where (m) is the mass of the two bodies and (r) is the distance between them, while (G) is the proportionality constant known as the constant of gravitation, afterwards Newton made his very important assumption in which he showed that the inertial mass of a body is identical to its gravitational mass which implied that the gravitational force exerted on or by an object is directly proportional to its inertia.
Furthermore, if we look at the distinguished Scientist Isaac Newton and his acclaimed laws of gravity we can understand some of the thinking tools he used. In 1687, Newton published Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (also known as Principia). The Principia was the “climax of Newton's professional life” (“Sir Isaac Newton”, 370). This book contains not only information on gravity, but Newton’s Three Laws of Motion. The First Law states that an object in constant motion will remain in motion unless an outside force is applied. The Second Law states that an object accelerates when a force is applied to a mass and greater force is needed to accelerate an object with a larger mass. Isaac Newton, (1642-1727) was an English scientist and statesman. Although his views were thought to contradict the bible he was the only man of these three which proved his views to be true. He discovered gravity and the laws of motion. He stated that, 'every particle in the universe is attracted to every other particle by a force that is directly related to the product of their masses and inversely related to the squares of the distance between them.
The American scientist John Wheeler coined the phrase “black hole” in 1969 to describe a massively compact star with such a strong gravitational field that light cannot escape. When a star’s central reserve of hydrogen is depleted, the star begins to die. Gravity causes the center to contract to higher and higher temperatures, while the outer regions swell up, and the star becomes a red giant. The star then evolves into a white dwarf, where most of its matter is compressed into a sphere roughly the size of Earth. Some stars continue to evolve, and their centers contract to even higher densities and temperatures until their nuclear reserves are exhausted and only their gravitational energy remain. The core then rushes inward while the mantle explodes outward, creating neutron stars in the form of rapidly rotating pulsars. Imploding stars overwhelmed by gravity form black holes, where the core hits infinite density and becomes a singularity (some estimate it at 10^94 times the density of water).
The first person in the book was Sir Isaac Newton. Newton was a man that had deep depression and mostly kept to himself. If not for that quality he may not have made the discoveries that he did. He would often sit in the garden for hours on end just thinking and formulating his ideas about the universe. In fact, that is the very place where the ideas of gravity and centrifugal force first came to him. He noticed an apple fall, and wondered why the apple fell to the earth but the moon didn’t. In the prologue, the book describes how this equation told scientists in NASA how to escape gravity and leave the earth to go to the moon. The Universal Law of gravitation is a fundamental law of the world today.
The first record of the movement of the planets was produced by Nicolaus Copernicus. He proposed that the earth was the center of everything, which the term is called geocentric. Kepler challenged the theory that the sun was the center of the earth and proposed that the sun was the center of everything; this term is referred to as heliocentric. Kepler’s heliocentric theory was accepted by most people and is accepted in today’s society. One of Kepler’s friends was a famous person named Galileo. After learning about the Hermetic tradition it influenced him to look at a different perspective into his discoveries and theories. One of the myths that followed the discovery is his discovery of universal gravitation. It is said that while Isaac Newton was thinking about the forces of nature, an apple fell on his head and he found the theory of gravity. There is no evidence that an apple fell on Newton’s head, but the evidence is shown that Newton got an idea of the theory of gravity when he saw an apple fall from a tree. During his life; however, Isaac Newton faced many obstacles. When he published some of his ideas in Philosophical Transaction of the Royal Society, some people challenged his ideas such as Robert Hooke and Christiaan Huygens to a point where Newton stopped publishing his work. Gravity is defined as the force of attraction that causes objects to fall toward the center of the earth(“Gravity”). Without gravity, the world that we know would not exist. Gravity is the reason why objects are on earth and not floating in space. Although some discoveries have been made about gravity there are still numerous unanswered questions. There are several scientists who are well known for their contribution to science, these scientists include Aristotle, Galileo, Kepler, Newton, and Einstein. Over a course of several hundred years, scientists’ views about gravity has changed. No one really understands how gravity works, but people have learned about the effects of gravity. It started off with a philosophy point of view, and it then moved to a scientific methodology view, and then to scientific theory view.

In the example of the force of gravity, small things like textbooks are pulled downward toward the center of the large mass of the Earth, not up into space, even if some people think that this might happen. Isaac Newton was the first to conceive of weight as the gravitational attraction. between the body and the Earth. The force that results from the gravitational attraction of the Earth on its surface is what we call weight. Science has chosen to measure the mass of objects in units that are roughly equivalent to the weight of those objects on Earth.
A natural force is a power brought on by nature. Natural forces, unlike those of other powers, are uncontrollable. Gravity is the force that pulls two objects together, and the mass of the human body depends on gravity. The more the mass there is, the amount of the gravitational force will increase. The study of the Earth’s gravitational field itself is complex and deeply fascinating. Likewise, studying its relation to the human body makes it even more thought provoking. A gravitational field is simply the area of space neighboring a body that has another body experiencing a gravitational attraction force. As human beings and just general species, our state in Earth is not the same as it is up in the atmosphere or another planet.
