World War II, which started in 1939 and ended in 1945, is considered the “Good War”. Quite frankly, is any war to be considered a good war? There are certain reasons that this War could be known as a “Good” War. For instance, toward the end of the war we see the defeat of Hitler’s Nazi system. In addition to that, the U.S. was not only stronger than ever, but also was considered a greater world power that other nations could depend on. Also during and after the war, the growth of women in the work industry. Not only doing jobs fit for men but succeeding at doing so. The Holocaust, which took place in 1933-1945, was the name given to the persecution and murder of over 6 million Jews. Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, were the reason why so many Jews were killed. One young girl named Anne Frank writes a diary during her times in the Holocaust as if she is writing to her friend. She named her diary “Kitty” and wrote in it as if she was talking to a friend. Anne talks about the fear she had when she was hiding in the “Annex”. Not only did the Holocaust effect Anne Frank and her family, but it effected tons of other families. Many families were split up and sent to different areas. These concentration camps were created and the people were treated horribly. At the camps, the people were treated like animals. Tagged, numbered, fed horribly, abused, and put into horrible sleeping conditions was just some of the horrors that occurred inside these camps. This horrible time for a numerous amount people truly shows how this war should not be considered a “Good War”. How can a war be considered good if this disappointing and truly heart wrenching thing happened? I believe that after the long lasting effects that the Holocaust has had, World War II should not be considered a “Good
