The Good Neighbor Policy was in response to economic and social issue that were occuring in Central and South American during the 1900’s (What is the?). These issues included civil unrest and economic instability. During the 1900’s, in order to help, US troops were sent to countries such as Nicaragua, Cuba, and Haiti (Mcgruders 483). These countries resented the United States for getting involved with their business. Because the United States got involved in other nation’s affairs in this situation, they didn’t seem to be that good of neighbors.

Collective Security was placed in order to keep international peace and order (Mcgruders 485). America hoped to forage a world community in which at least in which at least most nations would agree to act together against any nations would agree to act together against any nation that threatened the peace (Mcgruders 485). This policy seemed to work for the United States. It was beneficial in aiding both the United States and aiding other nations in keeping the peace after the war. I believe that the United States should maybe implement this policy in order to keep the peace in the world. This war began because of an attack on South Korea made by North Korea. The United Nations called on all of its members in order to fight back against this invasion, including the United States. The war was fought between American and South Korean forces versus Soviet, Chinese, and North Korean forces. Negotiations for a cease fire were first discussed in July of 1951 but the armistice finally stopped all fighting in July of the year 1953. This war was very bloody as all sides lost many lives.
