In my years of high school, I have obtained and sustained excellent grades and a high GPA. But this is not all that I have done. I have not just dedicated my life to school, but have also played sports for the school, and am currently working a job in which. Whilst playing golf for the school team, I managed to do well in all of my honors classes and received great grades in them. While on the golf team, we practiced very often, making difficult to do my homework. I have had to learn great time management skills from participating in sports, as well as working a job. I am currently working at a golf course in which I am there many times during the week, but also there on the weekends as well. I am a very dedicated and driven person who will
Contrary to what most think, an “Arnold Palmer” is not just a blend of tea and lemonade. One day, all might be able to swing a golf club like Arnold Palmer. Golf has been around since the thirteenth century and was introduced by the Scottish and Dutch. The main goal of golf is to reach the hole in the fewest amount of shots possible. One main difference between golf and many other sports is the lower the score the better. Regardless of the fact that the game was once banned, golf is now enjoyed by many (“The History of Golf”). Despite the images in common golf commercials, the golf swing is endlessly complicated.
My GPA is a 4.1000 and it teeters between 4.1500 and 4.1000. I haven't ever had a C and my grades are all A’s or A+’s. I also make sure I behave in class, so my work habits grades are also all A’s and A+’s. I’m consistently make sure that I keep my grades where they are and I always am striving for my best. If I do happen to get a grade I'm not fond of, I make sure that as soon as possible I get my grade back up to the desired A or A+. For instance, once I had a complex goal not met, so as soon as I could, I made sure I got my grade up. Now that goal is met and my grade for that quarter is A+. Even in the topics I don't enjoy as much, I make sure I work my hardest. I’m always trying to improve my grade with extra credits and 4.0 opportunities. This shows that I do meet the grade requirement for
Throughout my two years in high school, I have been trying to maintain a certain grade point average. I’ve passed two of my state tests already and I have yet to take my English II and U.S. History state test. I passed my Algebra I test in 8th grade with Proficient and my Biology I test my freshman year with Proficient. My grades fell off the first 9 weeks of this school year because I had a hard time understanding English II and I ended up scoring Basic on my 1st 9 weeks benchmark test. Now I have made a promise to myself that I will be advanced in everything from now on. I’ve been studying more and working in my SATP practice booklets and now my grades are improving. When I was in 2nd grade I was accepted into the Gifted/Excel class at Bentonia Gibbs up until my 7th grade year at Yazoo County Junior High. Ever since junior high, I have been in the advanced classes, and I hope that will help me with my plan to graduate as one of the top of my class.
Ever since I was a little kid, golf has been there. Golf has been something in my life that I can always fall back on and use to get some anger out of just to clear my head. No matter what it was, golf has been my rock. There is nothing like waking up at the crack of dawn to get out under the sun to play a game you love.
I guess it started when I was about twelve years old. My father took me to this place called a golf course. I did not know why or what we were here for, but I was interested in finding out. We entered a building called a clubhouse; then, he paid for a bucket of practice balls. I followed him to the driving range. Once we got there, he got a metal stick from his golf bag and gave it to me. I grabbed the stick, and he showed me how to hold it. Then, he told me to swing it. I swung it back and forth as careless as I could. He then said, "Son, you have one of the nicest golf swings I have ever seen." I did not even know what I was doing with that stick, but I guess my dad saw something I didn't. My father then decided that he was ready to teach me how to use the three clubs of golf: a putter, iron, and wood. He handed me the putter, and we went to the green. He explained to me that a putter is used on a green to get the ball into the hole. I took a few smooth swings back and forth to get a feel for a putter. He said, "Hit this ball until it goes into the hole." I was impressed with myself because it only took me six hits to get it in the hole. He laid twenty balls on the green, and he told me to hit every ball in with one shot. It took me about three hours, but I accomplished what my dad told me. He thought I was ready to try the next club, so we headed to the next location. We went out onto the fairway, and he handed me an iron. He laid out some more balls on the ground and told me to hit them towards the flag on the green. The first ball I hit did not even get close to the green. The rest of the balls I hit went either over or on the front of the green, but I never let another one fall short. My dad said, "Keep practicing until you hit all of the balls on the green." I kept practicing until all of the balls were laid up around the flag.
Throughout my educational career I have always excelled in the classroom. I recently graduated high school, being in the top three percent of my class, all while being a captain in the varsity football team and working full time. My high school GPA was a 4.0, and I received many awards, including First Team All-State for academics. Currently, I have a 3.5 GPA at UTA, while working part time and being involved in various school organizations. Academics are very important for me because it represents a better, more financially stable
During my years in high school, I have learned many valuable lessons. I’m proud of the person I am becoming. Life has not been easy, but thankfully I’m a strong hard worker. I started high school with a high GPA, and never intended for it to drop throughout my years. Within the last three years, I’ve moved around, participated in sports, and got a job.
My best (and favorite) subject in school is Math. Ever since I was very little I have loved math, and worked very hard at it. When I do not fully understand topics I do extra problems to make sure that they become clear to me. I spend a lot of time working on math to make sure I understand the topics throughly. I have been in math clubs since 4th grade, and in 7th grade I represented my school at the MathCounts® competition where I won a two silver pins. I won the Virginia State Math Award in 7th grade, and this year I got an 800 in math on my SSAT. As a result of my hard work I am currently one of three students in my school to be in the highest math group, Precalculus.

Whoosh!A bed whizzed by, surrounded by about 6 medical personnel. “What’s going on?” I thought immediately with apprehension. I knew whatever was happening it was not ideal. Ensuring I was not in the way, I stood on my toes to see what demanded so much attention. To my astonishment, I saw a coin sized hot-pink little girl. She could not have been bigger than two quarters lying side by side. She was struggling! Even with all the procedures the doctors were executing to save her life, she was performing the most work.
Cliffside Park High School has offered me numerous opportunities. I took honors courses in English, mathematics, and science ever year. In addition, I have taken three years of Spanish as a third language and an advanced placement class for U.S. history. Throughout the past couple years; I have been able to sustain a high grade point average of about a 4.4 (based on calculations made at the end of sophomore year) and make High Honor Roll for almost every marking period. However, my journey to where I am now was not a perfect yellow brick road. Instead, it was a path with many twists and turns that led me through many dark and awful experiences. Juggling all these courses was something I had adapted ...
“Nothing ever comes to one, that is worth having, except as a result of hard work,” Booker T. Washington. In my career as a football player, or what few years I've played high school football, I've learned how hard work can pay off. I have also learned my hard work can shape other people and help others become motivated to work harder. When I spend a couple hours a day tearing apart my muscles to become stronger I ask myself why I'm doing it.I play football because it shows me what work can do for you. I'm no admirable scholar that is taking AP classes and dual enrolled, but I work hard to reach my academic goals. For the next five years of my life school is my job and my number one priority. Sometimes I’ll stay up for hours to try and
Playing golf can be a frustrating and challenging sport to play. It can be frustrating to see right slicing, left hooking, sand trap landings, and having your ball roll off its tee. It would be fantastic if everyone had a caddy of their own to choose clubs for them, but this is not the case. Choosing the right club is also important. Keep reading for a handful of useful tips.

As a 17 year old girl in high school, I’ve faced many hurdles that I’ve had to overcome. We’ll just balancing out school work with after school activities is hard enough for some people, I also maintain a job where I work almost every day after school. Not only am I working and doing school, but I also maintain mostly A’s in all my classes and am on the National Honors Society. Doing this good in school and being a hard worker are very important to me and I plan to keep it up. Having a job and keeping up with school is not easy, but with the right motivation an individual can get through it.
