It requires skill and mentality - regardless of the common misconception that to play a round or two, all it takes is securing top-of-the-line golf balls, golf clubs, tees, and other equipment, and finding a great golf course.

By determining your identity, hardly anything can stand in the way of being the best golfer that you can be. This way, you can maximize your individual strengths and weaknesses and use them to your advantage. For instance, if you’re “the intimidator”, you may want to make sure that there’s always something on the line since only if there is can you have an unparalleled level of focus.
3 types of golfers:
1. The intimidator – a golfer who possesses “the intimidator” personality is likely an organized type. He prefers to have control of the game, and he wants to come out the better one. His strength is that he is incredibly competitive. For him, there’s always a winner and a loser; the former should be him.
2. The laid-back golfer – “the laid-back” personality of a golfer can be traced to how he prefers to take a carefree attitude while on the course. The best trait that he has is the ability to always stay relaxed. Instead of taking matters seriously, his intention is to have a mindless match or two.
3. The methodologist – a golfer is “the methodologist” type if he is quite strict regarding the practices he’s accustomed to. He works around a routine, which is an advantage since he’s the kind who prepares thoroughly. His biggest weakness? Pressure can easily get to him.

Mental Trick # 16 – Dress Right
To prevent yourself from stressing it out mentally, show up at the course in the proper set of clothes. Refuse to let your golf match be about wearing stuff that’ll make you standout. There is no need to pick out only expensive outfits. When your attire will keep you from being the best player that you can be, don’t wear it; it’s as simple as it is. Remember that the key is to be comfortable and not feel any ounce of awkwardness when you swing the ball.

In match play, if the a player gets a double par they must pick up the ball and move on to the next hole. In golf, a player compete against an opponent to see who can hit the ball in the hole, the least amount of strokes. The athlete must endure mild to intense workouts to become good at the sport. The most important aspect to work on in golf, is the swing. The athlete must focus on their golf swing to perform optimal swing mechanics. This is because the players consistency for 18 holes “depends on a stable golf swing” (Pedersen). While swinging a club, a person can work at least 16 different muscle groups in their body, so training these muscle groups will help their overall ability. The purpose of this analysis is to identify my personality type, temperament, and how it relates to my behavior and success in the workplace. The first phase of this paper is to identify my four letter personality type using the Jung Typology Test which is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers personality type theory (Jung Typology Test, 2016). I will also discuss where I fall within Keirsey’s Temperaments; this personality typing combines two of the four sets of preferences in to four distinct temperament categories (Personalitypage, 2015a). Keirsey identified four basic temperaments known as Guardian, Rational, Artisan, and Idealist (Keirsey, n.d.). I will explain each of the four letters of my type and provide specific examples of how they relate to me in both a professional and personal level. In the final phase I will discuss my personality strengths and weaknesses and how I can use the assessment for overall personal growth.
Avid golfers know all too well the elusive nature of the golf club’s sweet spot. It is a mystery they spend hours trying to solve on the links, usually to no avail. What sets apart amateurs from the professionals is the ability to consistently strike the highly critical pinpoint portion of the club. It is easy to see the difference between the consistency of an amateur and a professional with the definition of the wear spots on the pro’s golf club located where the sweet spot should be (see figure 1 below). Although many complex factors influence the path of a golf ball, the sweet spot has proven essential to maximize the final distance. The sweet spot is all powerful because of its ability to compress the golf ball. The transfer of energy that occurs through the perfect strike produces the largest velocity of the ball and therefore the greatest distance. The reason that mastery of hitting the hot spot of the clubface is close to unmanageable for the average amateur golfer is simply because of all the factors at play. Focusing on the most important part of the golf swing, impact with the ball, narrows the whole motion down into a split second of action. For golfers, the swing has little to do with success on the course, it is how efficient players are at the moment of striking the golf ball. In other words, it all comes down to that moment of impact. This allows people with a variety of body types and ages to excel at the sport throughout their life. Strength has a small role in lowering scores on the course and sending the ball farther down the fairway. An example of the small role that the golfer’s physical size plays, in relation to mastery of the sweet spot, is that I, at 5’7”, consistently drive the ball further than my 6’2”, considerably larger father. Researching and perfecting the sweet spot remains an important field of study in all the big name club manufacturers, as well as in the United States Golf Association (USGA).

I have been looking forward to today's round of golf with my two good friends, Geoffrey and Douglas. This will be my first opportunity to see Douglas in quite some time. His work has him dashing off to some far corner of the globe, on aviation business and he is hardly ever home here in London these days. Where, on the other hand, I see Geoffrey fairly regularly, as he runs the Reading Aero Club.

Ask yourself these questions, if the answers are related to what kind of person you are then you now know who you are. (Not sure how much sense that last sentence made…hmmm) Perhaps it should read: Now that that you know the different personality types, you should ask yourselves, “are you who you want to be?“ If not, then I have given you plenty to consider. Every single golfer has a different swing no matter if it looks the same or not. Some people might have a beautiful swing but every swing has a macroscopic flaw in it, others may have a swing that isn’t so good looking but it gets the job done. How to Sink a Putt The putting portion within the game of golf is something that can make or break a player's round. The green is a crucial location on a golf course that intensifies every hole. The ability to sink putts and establish a consistently good putting game on the green can turn any average handicapper into a threat. Golf in general, is a mental game, however, the putting surface is where a golfer's mentality is truly tested.

But after being around the golf course more and more I decided to give it a try. Now I play a round of golf every time I go over.
There are many factors on how to swing the club and how to hold the club, one little thing could mess up your entire swing. Most people consider hiring a skilled player to provide lessons. Lessons are recommended for almost all player. Clothing equipment is important, shoes should be considered an option if playing golf the perks about having golf shoes are the spikes for good traction on terrain and it limit the amount your feet slide. They are also good when swinging at the ball they provide a midfoot support because after swinging a clubs you end up on the balls on your feet.
I personally have golf three days a week right after school. Having to change out of a polo, dress shorts, and a belt is a huge hassle! Also, when I have a school related sport, the locker rooms become very crowded and hot. When there are twelve boys playing a sport and are very smelly, it becomes miserable. Even if you just wear the shirt that you need for that sport, it saves a good amount of time, and saves space in the locker room.
