Golda Meir was a woman with a lifelong commitment and an unfailing dedication in bringing her dream to a reality. Her dream was for Israel to be a safe homeland for the Jewish nation, including the Zionist Movement, which she wanted people to clearly understand. Zionism served as a strong belief that the Jews should gain their fatherland in Israel that they had lost to the Romans in 70 A.D. Golda Meir never lost sight of this goal, and did countless things for Israel. If only we could have her compassion, strength, courage and intelligence- then would we all be able to make such a perpetual effect on the world’s countries as she did. On May rd, 188, Golda was born into a family in Kiev, Russia. Her family was quite destitute, and there was much hunger and tears. “I remember too clearly how poor we were. There was never enough of anything, not food, not warm clothing, not heat at home. I was always a little too cold outside and a little too empty inside.” Golda remembers that gruel (a certain type of grain) was a luxury in their After working 4 years for Israel, she began thinking of retiring- for this was too much work for her. She backed off from her position as foreign minister, and Prime Minister Levi Eshkol took her place. Only after a few months into her retirement, Golda felt she couldn’t just retire and so she became Labor Party secretary general. Prime Minister Eshkol died of a heart attack in 16, and Golda was asked to take his place, only temporarily. She saw how much Israel really needed her, and she knew it was going to be exhausting. She decided to serve Israel again. On March 7, she was voted in. She became so busy and had so little time, she would have meetings at her kitchen table at night. This was a challenge for Golda, but as usual, with her determination, she took it up as a way to help her people

In the novel The Bread Givers, there was a Jewish family, the Smolinsky family, that had immigrated from Russia to America. The family consisted of four daughters, a father, and a mother. The family lived in a poverty-stricken ghetto. The youngest of the daughters was Sara Smolinsky, nicknamed ?Iron Head? for her stubbornness. She was the only daughter that was brave enough to leave home and go out on her own and pursue something she wanted without the permission of her father. The Smolinsky family was very poor, they were to the point of which they could not afford to throw away potato peelings, and to the point of which they had to dig through other people?s thrown out ash in order to gather the coal they needed. They could not afford to buy themselves new clothes or new furniture.

The Middle East has since time immemorial been on the global scope because of its explosive disposition. The Arab Israeli conflict has not been an exception as it has stood out to be one of the major endless conflicts not only in the region but also in the world. Its impact continues to be felt all over the world while a satisfying solution still remains intangible. A lot has also been said and written on the conflict, both factual and fallacious with some allegations being obviously evocative. All these allegations offer an array of disparate views on the conflict. This essay presents an overview of some of the major literature on the controversial conflict by offering precise and clear insights into the cause, nature, evolution and future of the Israel Arab conflict.
I predict that Diondra Wertzner’s father killed Patty Day and her two daughters on January 3. One possible explanation is that Diondra was pregnant with Ben’s child. Diondra’s father had given her a promise ring to symbolize abstinence and waiting until marriage to have children. Mr. Wertzner was apart of a rich, opulent family. He was rarely home, often missing out on many moment’s of Diondra’s life, which would cause him to be angry at himself, as well as Ben. Diondra once told Ben that if her father ever found out she broke the promise and had a child out of wedlock, “he would take her outside and shoot her in the head” (Flynn 201). Diondra claimed that her father talked like this because he had been deployed in the Vietman War. Another reason why Mr. Wertzner killed part of the Day family was because he was looking for Ben and wanted justice for what happened to his daughter. His original plan was to find Ben and kill him, but since Ben was no where to be seen, he killed Ben’s mother and two sister’s, forgetting that Libby was in the house. Once Ben was charged with the murders, Diondra’s father felt no need to go after Libby, assuming the murders were enough justice. No one had ever known that Diondra and Ben were
Dalias family lived in Bulgaria where the king of Bulgaria, in exchange for Bulgaria 's sovereignty, promised a deportation of Bulgaria 's jewish population to German conquered territories. Luckily, through the work of many individuals in Bulgaria, the plan to deport the jewish population never happened and Dalia’s family was able to move to the city of Ramla in Israel. Dalia never saw Israel as aggressors against the Palestinian people, in fact, as written by Sandy Tolan “... her people had a destiny on the land of Israel. This was partly why she believed what she had been told: The Arabs who lived in her house, and in hundreds of other stone homes in her city, had simply run away” (Tolan 24). The history of Israel as told from a Jewish perspective became known as the zionist narrative. Zionism was the political ideology that advocated for the establishment of an independent jewish state in the jewish holy land to avoid persecution. To Dalia, and descendants of holocaust survivors, it was easy to swallow the zionist narrative. To the Israelis, the Arab-Israeli War was Israel’s War of
Admiral Thomas Moorer, former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke about the U.S-Israel relations in the following words:
Since the Germans were low in numbers, starves due to lack of rations and moral. From the magazine and web page, an article from “The Independent Reader” stated that the Russians...

Throughout history, both men and women have struggled trying to achieve unattainable goals in the face of close-minded societies. Authors have often used this theme to develop stories of characters that face obstacles and are sometimes unable to overcome the stigma that is attached to them. This inability to rise above prejudice is many times illustrated with the metaphor of hunger. Not only do people suffer from physical hunger, but they also suffer from spiritual hunger: a need to be full of life. When this spiritual hunger is not satisfied, it can destroy a life, just as physical hunger can kill as well.
...thousands of years from times of nomadic tribes to kings that ruled over millions. While the land covered has been vast and the people many, one thing has been a constant in the history of the Jewish people, conflict. The conflict the people of Israel has faced has caused much destruction and horror in the lives of many, however, Israel has turned the history of conflict into a positive light in order to create a nation unified behind it. Israel has created a fast military force that gives thousands jobs both in factories and within the military itself. They have also created an economic system that creates vast productions of quality goods in order to compete with other countries in the Middle East and around the world. Israel has turned the devastation of war and the worries of continual conflict into a constructive action that has kept Israel alive and powerful.
“Grant me the strength, time and opportunity always to correct what I have acquired, always to extend its domain; for knowledge is immense and the spirit of man can extend indefinitely to enrich itself daily with new requirements.” - Oath of Maimonides
Food is an incredibly critical part of any living being’s life and for most people, it is a very enjoyable part. However, though the prisoners of the Gulag were lucky enough to eat a meal, they were only offered it two times a day and were fed food in low quality. The prisoners were offered kasha, a vegetable stew with its content “depend[ing] on the kind of vegetable it provided” that season (Solzhenitsyn, p. 10); magara, a

“Don’t be so humble—you are not that great”: an iconic line from one of the pioneering women in 20th-century politics, Golda Meir. As one of Israel’s leading founders and its “Iron Lady”, Meir was an exceptional woman who, despite her faltering health, intently led her country through struggles and discord. Since adolescence, she had been involved in Zionist movement groups, and throughout her career, she played a major role in the creation of the country we now know as Israel. In 1969, after retreating into retirement twice, Meir took charge as Israel’s first female Prime Minister. Her leadership throughout her four-year term illustrated her dedication to her country and prowess in political and social activism. Golda Meir, who took it upon
