Have you ever wondered why Fruits and vegetables like oranges and grapes;or tomato or cumbers?I go into the grocery store and I see excessively large foods.I never payed attention to the fact that the foods are sometimes modified to make them bigger, better, more of an abundance of,and last longer. But do you really think that Modifying the foods are going to better help the people or the environment? But ask yourself by eating these foods how will it effect my health,my mental well-being,also even the animals that I eat?Can you really think that modifying the food is Beneficial? No!So I will explain to you the dangers of the genetically modified foods.
First off think about how if it is genetically modified that means that their is chemicals and when their is chemicals there is side effects and diseases. There was a study in 2011 in the journal Reproductive Toxicology basically explained that there was a presence of pesticides in the maternal, fetal, and non-pregnant women. What happens is the baby can have adverse affects in which the baby will have xenobiotics (foreign chemical substance found within an organism that is not naturally produced.)And what happens is it can effect the babies growth and development.Think about subjecting your child to those negative side effects?Would you want to do that?Do you think

twice to do this?
This will probably make you think again also there is Glyphosate that is in genetically modified foods that you may eat.And a study also show that it can link to autism,Parkinson's disorder, and Alzheimer's.These are mentally degenerative disease that effect your mind?Have you ever seen the wide span of the elderly and the young contracting autism? That is something that is very worry-some.Your whole mind can be effected by a Bite of Genetically modified apple or grape or orange? Are you serious? That is a issue would you really cost your peace of mind for a bigger or more better tasting food?you need to be aware to the side effects that run with the body? Also Harmful agent is the it can create a Food allergy.Me personally I have seen a lot of allergies that people have in there life. For example Food Allergy affects approximately 5% of children and 2% of adults in the U.S. and is a significant public health threat (Bakshi, 2003). Allergic reactions in humans occur when a normally harmless protein enters the body and stimulates an immune response (Bernstein et al., 2003). So have you wondered about why you may have a food allergy? How can you sit here and wonder why?So you should go out your way not to have any issues? This is very harmful to the body. And there is also the fact that in the vegetables and fruits that have low nutritional value. If you would rather eat an vegetable with better nutritional value.I am going to say that you should be able to do your best at everything that you need health-wise because that is more priority. Can you seriously want less nutritional food and when you have less nutritional food what happens with that you catch diabetes, high blood pressure, and all kind of food related diseases you should have been able to do better with your health and no matter what you may think.you should have been better at anything that you eat or take care of? Genetically modified foods are very important for you to pay attention to on your own you should not even have to repeat the same mistake now that you are enlighten by the fact that foods are very important. You should be able to do your best to make other people aware of the dangerous side effects that comes along with eating the genetically modified foods which is not a positive situation at all.You need to learn and be aware of what foods that you eat and what type of harm that they can do to your body. Are you ready to see the darkness behind the GMO's?
Do you know what you're really voting for? Iowan farmer Reg Clause suggests you may not in his column, “Say ‘no’ to GMO labeling.” Reminding readers that general election day has come, he attempts to convince us that a certain law should be voted against. The proposed legislation would mandate all foods that contain genetically modified organisms, also know as GMOs, to display a warning label on their packaging. He argues that this would be detrimental to the good name of these types of foods when they do not deserve to be shamed. I agree that the genetically engineered crops should not be labeled, but not because that would tarnish their name. However, the reasoning for my opinion comes from the perspective that it would not only be impractical
GMO`s are starting to rapidly take over our food supply, but what exactly is a GMO? A GMO is a make up of DNA that is combined forcefully with a plant or animals DNA, and creates a new version of it. Seeing these products sold in stores for the first time people question what the change is from the natural, and organics, because when someone reads GMO they wonder if it is healthy and safe to consume.
Jalonick has said, “Genetically modified foods are plants or animals that have had genes copied from other plants or animals inserted into their DNA.” These genetics have been efficient, but have also bothered many individuals. According to an article titled “Ask Natural Life” by Wendy Priesnitz, she has explained that infants and children are very vulnerable to the health risks of consuming genetically modified foods. Infants and children are not very strong, and having them consume genetically modified foods can be quite dangerous.
The Controversy Over Genetically Modified Foods The genetic engineering of foods has, in one sense, been in existence for hundreds of years. The first time Gregor Mendel bred different varieties of pea plants to observe the various traits present in their offspring, the concept was born. Today, genetic engineering has developed into one of the most complex and advanced fields of scientific thinking, all the while provoking many questions and acquiring many opponents along the way. While there are compelling arguments presented for each side of the issue, the simple fact is that genetically modified (GM) foods are a reality, especially in the United States, as they are already present in many products that are consumed on a daily basis.
How many of you hear the words “genetically modified food” and immediately think “BAD”? How many of you scorn the idea that genetically modified foods are useful? How many of you have been manipulated by the media to think that all biotechnology is evil? Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are organisms that have been genetically spliced to achieve a certain trait. As the demand for a larger food supply is increasing due to population growth, the benefits that GMO foods provide are being hailed as the only solution to the food crisis. However, many people are making inadequately informed decisions, and are pushing them to the back shelf. I will inform you on why genetically modified organisms may be the only way to a stable, safe future for the less fortunate.
Have you ever asked yourself what is Genetic modified organism(GMO)? Will in this paper I am going to tell you about GMO. Gmo is any foods or animals that have been modified genetically. There is too much Gmo in our food. We could cut down on how much foods have GM. We could also make more job for farming. We Should make more food with no GMO so we can all be healthy.
“Civilization rests on people’s ability to modify plants to make them more suitable as food, feed and fiber plants and all of these modifications are genetic” (American Association 1). This quote from the article “Statement by the AAAS Board of Directors On Labeling of Genetically Modified Foods” expresses that fact that humans have used the favorable genes of plants since the days of Gregor Mendel, the father of genetics. When plants exhibited a desirable trait, they were bred together so that more of the offspring would have that trait. Genetic Modification is manipulating the genome of the plant, but humans have been doing that for years. Modifying the genes is a more precise way to do this. Genetic Modification improves food and is safe.
The term GM foods or GMO (genetically-modified organisms) is most commonly used to refer to crop plants created for human or animal consumption using the latest molecular biology techniques (Whitman, 2000). These plants have been modified in the laboratory to offer desired traits such as increased resistance to herbicides or improved nutritional content. Also, genetic engineering techniques have been applied to create plants with the exact desired trait very rapidly and accurately. For example, this is done by the geneticist isolating the gene responsible for drought tolerance and inserts it into another plant. The new genetically-modified plant will now have gained drought tolerance as well.
This has created a large amount of debate on local, national, and international levels about the safety of genetically modified foods to human health. There are many angles that have been taken from different groups on this issue. Some believe it is harmful to our health, with one source stating that, “mice eating GMO corn had fewer and smaller babies (Jagelio 2013).” Without testing on humans how are we to know these harmful effects aren’t impacting our health and reproduction. Other groups see GMOs as being both beneficial and having no impact on human health.
In conclusion, the application of genetically modified food has a lot of pros and cons. There is so much disagreement about the benefits and risks of GM because there are so many different views surrounding it. This issue is very important today because it will change our future. How would the world be when every single living creature will be in some aspect genetically modified? Would we be more resistant to illness? Or would we be weaker and more vulnerable to diseases? Would this be the beginning of the mutant era? Regardless of the answers to these questions, we will need to consider the implications of genetically modified foods.
This report explains genetically modified food (GMOs) and discusses the benefits and risks associated with the consumptions of GMOs. Genetically modified foods (GMOs) are foods that have been genetically altered using engineering techniques. The most common technique used today is called recombinant DNA technology; this technology combines different molecules from different plant species to create a plant with a new set of genes, a hybrid plant. Another recombinant DNA technology being used is recombinant bovine somatotropin (rBST) an artificial growth hormone; this hormone is being fed or injected into cows to improve milk production. “Genetically modified foods are a "Pandora's box" of known and unknown risks to humans and the environment. They have been forced onto the American public by multinational biotech and agribusiness corporations without adequate oversight and regulation by the United States government (Driscoll, SallyMorley, David C).”Genetically Modified Food is food which has been chemically altered by scientists during the production process to give the food more nutrients, better appearance, and a longer shelf-life (Rich, Alex K.Warhol, Tom). The importance of this issue is that these GMO’s can actually have a negative effect in our society in general. It could mutate in a negative way and cause cancer or other diseases. Genetically modified food should be strictly controlled due to its various detrimental effects on the environment, human health, and potentially insect/animal effects.
Before being used on humans, it was used on crops to enhance the livestock, to increase taste size and many other desirable traits in food, to make them more enticing to consumers, to make them easier to grow in certain weather conditions, and also to withstand pesticides needed to safeguard the crops. There is no proof of the long-term effects of genetic engineering. People have been worried about the effects of eating genetically engineered crops on their health, and because of the concern the Organic Trade Association doesn’t allow genetically altered products. It is an idea that has not been taken very seriously over the past decades and was only seen as a wildly imaginative miracle out of reach of scientists. Now that idea has become a very real process that seems like a dream come true to the many who see it as a miracle cure, but a nightmare to those who see it as spitting on the work of God and telling him he is now obsolete in the child bearing portion of the human life.
Genetically modified foods most commonly refers to the plants, which has been modified in the laboratory to enhance improved nutritional content and aimed traits created for human beings and animals. With progress in various types of technology, especially in genetic engineering, farmers and scientists have changed the way in which food is grown and made, raising questions about the methods, their risks and possible effects. It is not a secret that GMF-ed foods have spread out rapidly to the whole world. GMFs have raised concerns over their own beneficial in that they are resistant to diseases, produces greater yields, and it improves the nutrition of foods making the people unaware about their effects. Every time we go to any grocery stores or supermarkets, we would not know whether the vegetables, fruits or even meats being sold are genetically modified. To make this situation worse, most consumers do not pay much attention to what they are eating, when they are actually consuming modified foods.
Genetically Modified Foods are not suitable regarding safety. Some argue that this is false. They say that GMO’s are beneficial and don’t have any problems concerning safety. They say that there are other things that aren’t any riskier than GMO’s that we eat and we are fine after eating these things (crop plants modified by conventional plant improvement techniques). Also, they say that it is safe and beneficial because it increases food supply and there is not an abundance of definitive information evident to prove that it is harmful. Another thing that people say is that it increases pest and disease resistance. Even though these people certainly have a point, they’ve missed the big picture. They don’t understand how great the impact
