Global warming I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group, it was the data that got me. I was convinced that the people weren’t the ones causing global warming, but when I started doing research I understood that we are the main cause. This paper will tell what global warming is and its causes. Global warming is a slow warming of the earth from human activities. It existed in the year 1900 and remains until now. In the future would be different in every part of the world, some parts would be really cold and in other parts would be really hot, and that would increase diseases and other things that will affect the world and us. Warming of the climate is something we can’t prevent; people that study global warming know that humans are the main cause. Humans cause global warming by the burning of fossil fuels, cutting down trees and a lot of other things the result of this is that the greenhouse gasses are going to increase. These conclusions are accepted by the national science academies of all major industrialized nations. When we remove and burn fossil fuels such as coal or petroleum, we cause the release of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping in the atmosphere. Clearing forests also releases large amounts of carbon dioxide; on top of that plants use carbon dioxide to grow. Worldwide deforestation means that we don’t have many trees to absorb the extras carbon dioxide. This means more carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere, trapping more heat. Another cause is when companies release smoke. The people that most affect global warming are the Americans, because they use %26 of the world’s oil, they release %26 percent of nitrogen oxides and %22 of carbon dioxide. Global warming is making the world really hot and that... ... middle of paper ... ...ublic officials to create programs and rules that are good for the environment. The conclusion of this paper is that global warming is going to exist forever because of everything humans have done, even if we try not to use fossil fuels and many other things that cause global warming, greenhouse gases are going to remain in the atmosphere for hundreds of years but we can prevent global warming. Society needs to take conscious about global warming because this is a serious problem that can affect not only human beings, but also animals and plants. We all need to help our planet and put more effort to save it. There are a lot of things than we can do. For example, avoid high gas prices and carbon emissions; eat fresh, local foods for a healthy environment, etc. By following these recommendations, people will have an improved future and the environment will be safe.
Global warming has been going on for one to two centuries now. It has affected the earth a lot and not only that , it has also affected the air. Global warming has consequences as stated before , and it usually happens with solar and terrestrial radiation. Even though people believe that all of this is caused by humans. Scientists believe that global warming was going to be caused by sickness or in other words by diseases but it turns out that they were wrong. Not everyone believes that global weather is a bad thing but they just haven’t realized how bad it has affected us. As long as global warming is around the temperatures will keep on rising, animals will keep on decreasing, and the atmosphere will keep on trapping heat. That’s what global warming is all about. It’s all about warming up the atmosphere and affecting those around them.
Over the last few years almost everyone has heard that the earth is warming. Also, almost everyone has heard the pleas to go green and reduce carbon emissions, led by former Vice-President Al Gore. Even though there is not a truly accurate definition of global warming it can be roughly defined as a rise in average global temperature according to Laurence Pringle’s book Global Warming Assessing the Greenhouse Threat (19). Global Warming Assessing the Greenhouse Threat also bring up that the average temperature data that scientist are using only goes back to 1860 giving scientists today only 150 years of temperature data. Also, with this current warming, even with humans contributing to the rising average global temperature, scientist today do not fully understand all the complexities of the atmosphere (Pringle 19-21). According to another book by Mr. Pringle, Global Warming the Threat of Earth’s Changing Climate, scientists predict global temperatures could rise from two to six degrees Celsius by 2050 (33). Despite these predictions historical and new information show that scientist are incorrect that global temperatures will forever continue to increase. Global warming and the rise in global temperatures is due to humans burning fossil fuels and overconsumption of products, as well as natural cycles changing slightly and other natural phenomenon; however, this warming will eventually lead to global cooling.
Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth's climate. While it changes the Earth’s climate it takes away different species that we depend on and some which other species depend on and also effect (in a bad way) the environment in which we live and can cause permanent damages to humans, animals, plant which will change the whole chain of ecosystem.
There has been much discussion recently about global warming do you know what are the causes behind the global warming? The phrase Global Warming has specific meaning. "Global" means something above borders or international. "Warming" means an alarm that something bad will happen. The whole phrase means increase in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere that causes changes in climate around the whole world, which refers to the meaning of global. For years, global warming was a scientific theory nobody cared about except scientists. Since the 1970s, the scientists discovered the fact that the temperature of the earth is increasing, and that the environment will encounter a real problem because of the humans activities on the earth. Even in the late 2000s, both of the government sector and the private sector were still ignoring the issue, due to considering their own benefits. These worries sat the governments and the scientists to it take in consideration more than ever. Both of them started collaborating to conduct the problem. Thus, recently all of the classifications in the world's community neither they were scientists, politicians, students nor children became more and more interested and aware of the global warming issue, and the clue is that most people became more informed of what the global warming really means. Also, the media paid great attention to it by showing programs about it and interviewing experts specialized in this field particularly to inform people that we are as humans are sharing the same problem. Societies started considering it as a significant issue that may endanger their surrounding atmosphere and their lives. Speaking about the causes of a global warming, there are several things that can cause the global warming. However, the main reasons are air pollution, deforestation, and human activities.
What makes a person romantic? Tom Sawyer is the quixotic book worm in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Tom is a romantic because he is adventurous, he's a dreamer, and he is impractical.
Global warming is a phenomenon and impact of climate change. An average upward change in global temperature over a period, a few decades, is the impact of climate change caused by human actions. The deforestation, use of fossil fuels, emissions, and the likes cause such environmental changes as rising sea levels, enhanced atmospheric temperatures, and extreme weather conditions. Whether human actions are responsible for global warming is a controversy doing the rounds. The greenhouse effect which refers to retaining of a part of the sun's radiation in the earth's lower atmosphere leading to increasing in the earth's temperature is the cause of global warming. Also, depletion of the ozone layer is a major source of global warming. However, human actions in burning ...
Humans have caused global warming by doing many things but the main three are burning of fossil fuels and green house gas emission, deforestation, and excessive use of chemical fertilizers. Global warming is like a bad dream going worse.
In talking about global warming, we need to learn what causes the greenhouse effect. Rays from the sun are taken up and absorbed by water vapor that is natural in the atmosphere. The United States emits the largest man made greenhouse gases in the world. As Americans we must realize the responsibility to reduce the emissions. (Gore, Albert) Water Vapor is eighty percent of greenhouse warming. The last twenty percent results from other gases that are in very little amounts. A huge absorber of the sun’s heat rays is carbon dioxide. Us as humans release a lot of carbon dioxide. When fossil fuels are burned, they release big amounts of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is on the increase in our atmosphere due to car emissions. Approximately eighty percent of CO2 increases because of man’s use of fossil fuels. When there is more carbon dioxide in our atmosphere the more sun rays are absorbed. In result to this happening this will cause the earth and the earths atmosphere to warm. When the earth is warming, water temperatures will start to get warmer. Oceans and lakes will get warmer in result f...
In recent years global warming has been on the rise. The importance of this issue is so that we as a nation can be aware of the drastic changes which are occurring rapidly around the world. Although there isn 't one set resolution to solve climate change, we must continue to carry out ways to put it to a halt. Some of the ways I believe we can cut this crisis is to stop polluting the manufacturing of toxic gases which is filling our environment with smog. If we all put our ideas and opinions in ways to prevent some causes of climate change, the world in which we live will be a better place. Instead of being a part of the problem we can be a part of the solution. Opposed to just humans, animals, and other species are affected as a result of
Global warming has become on of the most controversial issues in the media today. While most of the Western world countries have generally accepted the premise that man's chemical emissions in the atmosphere can and are affected by the world’s climate patterns, in the United States, the issue has become so politicized with many republicans challenging the science behind the theory. Global warming is a greenhouse effect whereby gases are trapped on the earth’s surface causing it to heat up (Maslin 14). It is based on the worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by human beings through their activities since the 1880,s. In addition, global warming is not only caused by human activities only but also through climate changes in solar radiance. The problem is that, humans continue to contribute to the global warming phenomenon. All citizens should work in reducing human activities that cause global warming and also support the development of nuclear power. Scientists deem that, global warming is mainly caused by human activities which accelerate the natural process by creating greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Human activities have become a great contribution to the greenhouse effect and this means that climate changes are inevitable. They further argue that, if these activities continue and are not reduced, it will lead to more trapping of energy radiated from the earth and this will likely lead to extreme weather and global warming. Global warming should be at reduced levels or else, it will be catastrophic.
In conclusion, many facts point to global warming being detrimental to our world. With scientific predictions, rising temperatures, human causes, drastic climate changes and animal adaptations being some of the more thought about topics it`s hard not to agree that our world can not continue to be used as it is. Even with some scientists arguing against the topic, our Earth`s orbit changing the temperatures before and have been through hotter and cooler time periods the pros still outweigh the cons. This is why we, as a global population, need to take into consideration the outcome of our planet should we continue to abuse it the way we do. Our earth and resources are not a right but a privilege and we should learn to treat them as such before we no longer have either.
Scientists, economists, and policy makers all agree the world is facing a threat from climate warming. Climate warming is caused by excess greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which are heat trapping gases. Human use of fossil fuels is a significant source of these gases. When we drive our cars, heat our homes with oil or natural gas, or use electricity from coal-fired power plants, we contribute to global warming. Including any loss of trees or forests also contributes, considering trees convert carbon dioxide to oxygen.
In conclusion, global warming is a slow and gradual process that is affecting our lives day by day. Some think of it as a myth, but now everybody can see and feel the climate change every year. Human beings are the prime cause of the global warming, so it is our responsibility to minimize it. Many environmentalists and nature protecting organizations such as the NRDC (Natural Resource Defense Council) have done various research on global warming and have come up with many ideas to prevent it. There are several creative ideas to stop global warming, and some of them have promises, for example, saving money while saving the environment.
The common definition of global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants (Global warming, Wikipedia). Moreover, the effects of global warming will bring ecological and social changes. Because there is no exact way to predict the effects of global warming, it is almost impossible to say how strong global warming will affect life in the future.
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
