Recommended: Giving back to the community is important

Too many people in this day and age have fallen into the habitual criticism that society should be immensely improved but do not realize that they are a part of the fundamental change needed to resolve this problem. The word “community” can be defined as a number of people working together towards a collaborative objective. In order for a community to prosper, people must present effort by giving back to the community. Giving back to the community should not be seen as a task that will offer monetary gain, but as one that would benefit the community as a whole. I believe that giving back to the community in which I live in is of the upmost importance as a student, but also as a member of society. Many people in America and other first world countries have copious privileges that many people in the world could only dream of. There are many luxuries that we absent mindedly take for granted; the impression of having anything less than what we currently have is a foreign concept to us. Many individuals in the world do not have these same amenities; therefore, I consider it essential that each individual has the responsibility of giving back to the community in order to remember what to be grateful for but to also help those in need. …show more content…

Several people find it hard to take time out of their day to stop and help a neighbor in need, but do not realize if they do not help, who else will? Being able to recognize that there are others besides you in the community you live in, and making time to step in and help in any way, shows that you are solicitous and attentive.
