A true leader does not take control in order to strive for money or fame, instead he or she strives to improve the needs of citizens and to contribute their talents for society, which is reflected in George Washington. If the world takes care of our resources that are in reach to us during a short period of time, then generations will be able to live off of them in the long run due to the efforts made by a united
George Washington was selected Commander in Chief of the Continental Army because of his courage and bravery, his ability to motivate and command respect from his followers, and his strategic ability in battle. His reputation as a daring and successful leader inspired confidence and loyalty in his followers. If it weren't for George Washington, it would be a different America today.
Many people possess leadership qualities although they don’t rule a country. Meriwether Lewis, the official leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition has been called “undoubtedly the greatest pathfinder this country has ever known.” Just like Hazel, Meriwether Lewis led a group of followers into unknown territory. The two guides faced many difficult situations that they were able to overcome since they had the qualities of a notable leader. Both of the journeys were rough, but because of the brave leaders both expeditions were successful.

However, George Washington was not settling with anything less than trying their best. He kept that little flicker of hope that was still left, alive. The Continental Congress did not see much hope in the war either and turned the responsibility of the war to General George Washington. Washington received a message from Congress saying,
Leadership is a major issue when it comes to whether or not a society is going to be viable. It seems that if the leader is a good leader, a leader that puts his people first and wants the best for his country, then the land and the society should flourish. But if the leader is a bad leader, a power driven leader, a leader who puts himself first, and lets his people starve while he and his nobles live in excess, then the society and land will not flourish. This idea is not demonstrated to us in Utopia or The Prince; it seems like the exact opposite.
George Washington: You probably know him as the first president of the United States. I know him as a very effective leader of the country’s military, and a hard worker as well. Not only was he a great president, but he was also a successful leader in the military on many occasions as well. Therefore, the three qualities that made George Washington an effective leader were how much he was willing to sacrifice for the country, being so confident, & respectableness.

There are many definitions of what a leader is and what characteristics a leader should have. One man that demonstrates all aspects of a leader and that has been deemed on the list of one of the greatest presidents who has ever served respectfully belongs to Franklin D. Roosevelt.
"The leader must understand that he leads us, that he guides us, by convincing us so that we will follow him or follow his direction. He must not get it into his head that it is his business to drive us or rule us. His business is to manage the government for us."-- Theodore Roosevelt
A leader can be defined as one who mobilizes others toward a goal shared by leaders and followers. General George Washington was conceivably the one indispensable man among the Founding Fathers. During the eight years Revolutionary War from 1775-1783 with Great Britain and America soldiers, General George Washington has proven to be a formidable leader and this made him recognizable later as a presidential selection. John C. Maxwell, the author of Communication Lessons From America’s Founding Father, draws attention to General Washington strong qualities of being a

Finally, leaders are able to keep everything in perspective. They invest themselves fully but also are able to keep their priorities in order. As a child I never understood anything that my mother did or said but now that I am an adult I realize that my mother had a valid reason for everything she did. My entire childhood my mother has molded me to become a great leader and all the lessons that my mother has taught me I can spread the knowledge to my children. Successful leaders keep it all in perspective because they are able to separate the important from the urgent, and devote their time
