George Lucas is the producer of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones the movie that my mini-painting is from. Lucas was born on the 14th of May in 1944, 21 years prior to his first produced film. Lucas was in the art period of cinematography from 1965-2013, his year of semi-retirement. He stopped making big films that year, because he wanted to hand his biggest series, Star Wars to the next generation. He still helps out to make sure the continuity is good, and they don’t forget anything or add something extra that should not be in the films.
He was born and raised in Modesto, California, the same state that Hollywood or Los angeles is in where most movies are made. He must have had some influence from the movies made there to get
him into the filmmaking business. I don’t entirely understand how he started, he seemed to just have the money to make his own company and make movies. The movie that my drawing is from was made 37 years after his first movie. This was also the second movie of the second trilogy also known as the prequels, as they were about the Clone Wars and the eventual creation of the empire. George Lucas is also the producer of the Indiana Jones film series, another extremely popular series. Lucas also put a few references in his star wars series that are from his personal life, like his children. They all appeared as random people in certain scenes, Lucas also appeared himself, not surprising at all because I think about anyone who makes that successful of a series would want to be in it at least for a cameo. He also put on the battle droids of one of his earlier films 1138, which was able to be seen a few times throughout the film
Smith was born and raised in Red Bank, New Jersey. He grew up going to the very same Quick-E Mart in which his first widely received film, Clerks, took place (www.uidaho.edu). Smith always uses his own experiences as a lower-middle class male in New Jersey to compile his scripts, and adds his own humor as well as the humor of recurring actors who appear in his films. His four semi-cult hit films are (in order of production): “Clerks”, “Mallrats”, “Chasing Amy” and “Dogma”. In all four of these films, Kevin Smith wrote the scripts, directed, produced and made appearances in the films.
“Life is tough, but it’s tougher when you’re stupid.” This was a quote made by the infamous Marion Robert Morrison. John Wayne, being born in Winterset, Iowa, grew up to become an aspiring actor after his college sports scholarship was diminished. He later began to work as an extra, then B movies, up till he reached stardom with The Stagecoach. John Wayne's roles in western movies impacted the future of the western movie industry.
Guillermo del Toro was born in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico and was raised by his Catholic grandmother. He had an interest in filmmaking at a young age but learned about special effects and makeup first. In 1993, del Toro got his career break with Cronos after it won nine academy awards in Mexico (Guillermo del Toro). Soon after, del Toro created his first Hollywood film, Mimic. Unfortunately, del Toro describes Mimic as the worst film he has ever made and the hardest to work on due to constant interruptions by producers. He returned to Mexico in order to form his own production company, greatly disliking the demanding Hollywood studios (Guillermo del Toro). Del Toro is well known for his films in the horror genre and his love for dark beauty
George Lucas is known for the creation of the Star Wars film series. Even if you have not seen every movie created in the series, you have at least heard about it. The series began with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977). This is a time when the film industry knew little about computer generated imagery and special effects. Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back (1980) was released three years after Episode IV. Lucas’ creation of the Star Wars film series is believed to be what inspired the advancement of computer generated images and special effects. The Empire Strikes Back is full of action packed, suspense filled, battle scenes that would not be possible without the assistance of computer generated imaging and special effects.
At the age of 23, Howard Hughes came to Los Angeles, California to pursue his own dream in producing films. He started RKO pictures and produced award winning movies such as Scarface, a movie which was bas on the life of ...
George Lucas' Sci-Fi multi-film Star Wars saga has had a significant impact on modern popular culture. Star Wars references are deeply embedded in popular culture; references to the main characters and themes of Star Wars are casually made in many English-speaking countries with the assumption that others will understand the reference. If you go to Comic Con you will at least two princess Leias a few Luke Skywalkers and a whole bunch of Han Solos it just gives you an overwhelming sense of pride and joy that you belong to this great
Kenny Chesney was born and raised in the tiny town of Luttrell, Tennessee. He played high school football and attended college. “Anyone who is passionate about music is emotional,”(“Kenny Chesney”) comments Chesney. Since he was young he had a dream to do what he loves most, and that is to sing. Kenny Chesney has become famous by singing about his own life, which is particularly apparent in the song, “Back Where I Come From.” Ultimately, it seems that he wants his audience to feel what he feels and be where he has been.
George Lucas wrote and directed Star Wars, he had tons of creative and production control just like Hitchcock. Furthermore, the film demonstrates his aesthetic vision through recurring themes of good verse evil, heroes fighting for good and saving the day. Lastly, the film demonstrates thematic and stylistic consistencies to create the meaningful narrative. One thing that stands out from Star Wars that illustrates George Lucas’ control over the production is the credits. He did not want the credits at the beginning of the film so the audience can focus on the narrative. In the late 1950’s the auteur theory was introduced to filmmaking which created a new way of making films. Auteur theory went against the classical narrative by focusing on realism. Auteur films had ambiguous endings, which deeper into the character’s physiological state. Even though, Star Wars demonstrates certain auteur elements, it does not go against the classical narrative. To conclude, Star Wars mixed classical Hollywood techniques with the auteur theory that lead to a different and unique way of making a
