The location of Australia is in the continent of Oceania. It is right in the middle of the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. Australia is a large country and has a few different climate zones that include: moderate in the south and east parts, and hot throughout the north. The terrain is typically low accompanied by many desserts and rich plains found in the southeast. In terms of the landmass, the total area is 7,741,220 sq. km and is a bit smaller than the United States. The population is 23,232,413 and is ranked number 56th in the world based on population size. The population has been growing at around 1.03% and that is ranked at 110th in the world. The capital city of Australia is Canberra and its current population

There are many religions practiced there and Protestant is number one “Protestant 23.1%, Anglican 13.3%, Uniting Church 3.7%, Presbyterian and Reformed 2.3%, Baptist 1.5%” (“The World Factbook: AUSTRALIA”). The Currency used is the Australian dollar and is used throughout the country.

The primary industries in Australia are food processing, chemicals, steel, transportation equipment, and mining.
