Italy’s capital is located at 41º53 N, 12º28 E in the Western region of Europe.The capital of Italy is Rome. Italy is bordered by France, Austria, Switzerland, and Slovenia. France borders Italy to the west, Austria borders Italy to the north east, Switzerland borders Italy to the north, and Slovenia borders Italy to the north east. Waterways surrounding Italy are the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ligurian Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south west, the Ionian sea to the south, and the Adriatic sea to the east. According to Country Meters, Italy’s population is 61,492,112 as of 2014. As you can see, Italy is a very interesting country.
Italy is mostly mountainous, but there are also plains, hills, and forests located in Italy. The main rivers in Italy are the Po, the Arno,and the Tiber. The main mountain ranges are the Apennines and the Alps. In northern Italy, temperatures can reach below freezing during the winters, with snow in the northernmost areas near Switzerland.
