Gender Stereotypes In The Walking Dead

Gender stereotypes are vastly present throughout the Walking Dead. Each of these characters plays an important role to the plot of the show. The episode “First Time Again” follows a ride as the group fends off their lives against horrid zombies. Some characters follow the nature as being masculine, while other characters tend to be more feminine. The characters shown in the Walking Dead resemble common gender stereotypes through the way they portray themselves. Rick is one of the main characters shown in the Walking Dead. Rick is an individual who typically calm, smart, and a good friend. He will often stubbornly cling to his personal strong moral code, which has resulted in numerous bad calls and extra stress within the group. Rick 's greatest fault, perhaps, is his uncanny ability to place responsibility on himself and set for himself goals that are impossible to reach. This has, on various occasions, put Rick at ends with both Lori and Shane, and often weighs heavily on his mind. Despite his faults, his combat skill and general care for all members of the group have led him to be looked up to, and allowed him to take the leadership role within the group. However, in contrast to Rick, Morgan views every human life as precious and refuses to commit murder in order to survive. He even refused to kill two people who had attempted to kill him as he was camped out in the woods, and numerous others who laid siege to the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Morgan has now taken a strong role in the community of Alexandria and with his fighting skills, is a strong survivor and protector willing to do anything to keep good people safe from harm but still stubbornly refuses to kill those who indeed pose a threat to the security of his group. She eventually becomes so passionate about self-preservation that she starts teaching knife skills to children in their group.
