Gender in sports has been a hot button issue for quite a while in contemporary sporting America. Whether its discussing women 's role in sport or men 's, the topic always seems to bring up the past and how that has affected where we are today. Gender relations in sports has changed and evolved throughout history. Eventually it has shaped who we are as a society in the current times. They work just as hard men now, and maybe even harder. Even though there are some differences there are some glaring similarities and continuities. Men in sport now are glorified for their violent nature, just like in Medieval Times. In some contact sports like football and rugby, men are trained to have that violent prowess that was key in the Medieval Times. To look on the side of women in our current days, women are still able to maintain that beauty expected of them and be exceptional in physical activity.
