According to our textbook, this fallacy is one in which one gives an argument that assumes a major point at issue; also known as petitio principii. (Hardy, Foster, & Postigo, 2015) No matter how strongly one feels about a subject, you should be able to see that a conclusion can’t be supported with itself, there must be distinct premises that are not trying to defend principles that we are emotionally sure of or have believed for so long and unquestioningly that we cannot conceive of their being false, also known as the vicious circle or vicious cycle.

In conclusion I argue that banning same-sex marriage is discriminatory. It is discriminatory because it denies homosexuals the many benefits received by heterosexual couples. The right to marriage in the United States has little to do with the religious and spiritual meaning of marriage. It has a lot to do with social justice, extending a civil right to a minority group. This is why I argue for same-sex marriage. The freedom to marry regardless of gender preference should be allowed.
Society has this idea that a marriage means the separation of gender roles. Although there are movements to change this, stereotypically, a woman cooks and cleans while a man does hard labor. America was seemingly more accepting so with gay marriage legal in all fifty states not all marriages have the clear role. My dad is gay. I used to hide this fact because, in society, it was hit or miss as to whether someone would be okay with it. In recent years, gay pride has become a bigger thing and I’ve found that people are starting to realize that this is not going away. This does not mean that he parades around embracing the rainbow symbol like it has been stereotyped. He actually wears flannels- a lot, and with a beard, reminds me of a lumberjack. His partner is the exact same way. Based on the perception people have, if someone did not know them personally, they would have no idea they were gay.
"A right delayed is a right denied."-Martin Luther King Jr. Prejudice actions are occurring more often than the average one person may realize ,for citizen are being isolated for being who they are. Gay marriage should be legal for the sake of a peaceful future generations. It is every individuals' right to live their lives accordingly and choose the path in life they best suits them.

In recent years, same-sex marriage has become a more controversial topic on whether it’s right or wrong. People should not feel coerced to agree with something they believe is wrong; clearly, same-sex marriage is immoral and unnatural. Many complications come with same-sex marriages including financial pressures, social pressures, moral pressures, and health risks.
