To secure a good basketball scholarship, an individual will have to begin the process of getting a scholarship earlier life. They will need to put forth their best effort to attract college coaches. Statistics show that there are almost 1 million high school basketball players and about 100,000 college players. But, only 12.5% of high school players play college ball. Considering this information, a player has to work hard to be in that 12.5% and to make it in college. In order to have the greatest chance of success as a basketball player, an individual needs to know how to get a scholarship, what kinds of scholarships are available, and how to keep a scholarship once it has been awarded so that they can achieve the greatest they aspire to. …show more content…

There are several college areas that a player could join. A player could have different opportunities in each of the areas of college he could go to.Some colleges were founded long ago and they don't have some sports like other colleges do.If a person wanted to go to a certain college but find out that they do not play the sport that the person wanted.There are not many high school kids that play at the Division 1 level of college sports.Playing at the Division 1 level of college sports gives you a big opportunity to get to the major leagues.
