With the capabilities of the Internet and what one can spend his time doing on the Internet, the questions about the future of the Internet’s affects on its users continues to grow rapidly. The use of computer technology in the classroom is growing to be a major concern for parents and educators all over. How much time should children be allowed to browse on the Internet? Is the Internet affecting the children’s, the future of society, ability to focus? Should parents and educators trust the websites that students get their information from? Although the Internet has done an absolutely fabulous job at making what may have seemed impossible possible, with live video chatting, music streaming, and online books, the Internet is definitely responsible reading and intellectual engagement problems in students.
The Internet moves at very fast speeds and can access an enormous amount of information in less than a few seconds with a few typed letters and the click of a button. Search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and Ask have mastered the ability to provide a person at search for just about any answer with what seems to look like an endless amount of links leading to what that individual could possibly be inquiring about. Years ago when driving to somewhere new a map had to be used to get there which was more time consuming and taking concentration off the road. Today a GPS is used not only does it get people to where need to be, but it takes the fastest route without traffic, or a route without tolls. Therefore a GPS is more efficient then a person using a map. The article “The Robot Invasion” by Charlie Gills in 2012 was a well written straight forward article about the advancements of technology and how it will affect the future of society. In Gillis informative article he provides information about robots and how they are going to begin taking over the jobs of humans for the soul reason that, robots can do the job faster and better than a human can.
The past few decades have had major advancements in technology which has made accessing information as easy as clicking a button. As the use of the Internet has expanded from being solely used by large corporations to being used by every individual on a daily basis, it has opened many pathways of communication and distribution of information. For instance, software such as Google Maps, allows users to plan trips, have a street view of their destination and even directly share their plans on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. In 2008, Google launched a new addition to their mapping software called Google Earth which allows users to access satellite and aerial imagery of Earth. Furthermore, Google has integrated Street View,
...; nonetheless, it poses to be a great distraction to students and their peers. Bugeja, in his article, believes that until the ability to use technology is reassessed, issues regarding Internet use will only increase in higher education institutions. The rapid advancement in technology has taken over the classroom in a negative aspect and will continue to do so unless measures are taken to permit internet access for educational purposes only.
Internet integration into the classroom is a great way to foster learning while delivering relevant and interesting lessons. There are numerous ways of incorporating Internet use into a classroom; however, this integration should be thoroughly scrutinized. No tool should be integrated into a classroom without first ensuring that it will be an effective and safe means of instructional delivery. This essay will introduce three such internet-based activities, along with the type of learning each activity fosters. Finally, using background research each activity will be analyzed as to whether the learning is meaningful.

Technology is Changing Education The best method for improving educational standards is to utilize every tool available, including state-of-the-art technology. Computers and the Internet have expanded the way in which education can be delivered to the students of today. Today's networking technologies provide a valuable opportunity to the practice of learning techniques. Educators are discovering that computers and multi-based educational tools are facilitating learning and enhancing social interaction. Computer based telecommunications can offer enormous instructional opportunities, but educators will need to adapt current lesson plan to incorporate this new medium into all the classrooms.
Children of all ages everywhere these days seem to only depend on the internet. The internet is an amazing creation, but people take advantage of it. Since there is internet there is access to all kinds of social media, games, and all sorts of other things. However, because of today’s society internet is one of the only things kids use and go on, whether it’s go on Facebook for hours or watch ridiculous videos on YouTube, the internet is taking a negative turn towards children, their brains, smartness, and attitude. Despite helpful or early learning programs, the internet does not make children smarter.

The Impact of the Internet on Schools For this essay, I read an article called: The Netgeneration: The Internet as a classroom and community. After reading the article I came up with some very good points on how the internet has effected the way schools are run compared to the pre-computer and internet age. My conclusions are that the Internet has changed the school classroom for the good by making information widely available and usable to even the poorest of schools. The internet has made it possible for teachers to communicate and learn what other teachers are doing in other countries by talking to colleagues in other countries and reading reports and research studies findings before they read the teaching methods books.
Internet needs to be in the classrooms of schools in the new millennium. If you can’t get on and surf the internet by yourself then you are looked down upon. The internet is the new big thing, it’s technology at it’s best. That’s why we must keep our students in schools educated and updated with it, the internet has endless possibilities. Students would never run out of information for their reports in school, they can either go to the library and look for the information they need and hope that the book they need is not checked out, which could take up to a couple of hours. While on the internet you can find the information in the matter of minutes. Many books are outdated and you would be lucky to check one out if everybody in the class is doing the same report! The internet keeps up with current information coming in every day of the week. I don’t think students abusing their time on the internet is a problem, I think we need teachers or someone to monitor where they are going on the internet. There are programs advisors can download that can block out any material not suitable for students at schools.
Students do things like write papers, access test and quizzes, and even visit their teacher’s web page where they find information needed for the course. This may seem easy to students who have always had internet in their home with a computer they can work on, but what about the students who have no idea what the internet is, or don’t own a computer or device they can to practice on. This is one of the key reason digital literacy is important. Students no matter the age or background should feel comfortable using the internet at school. They should always feel caught up in classes because if they don’t know how to it will be taught to them. Schools should make sure students are up to speed and no child is left
The traditional education environment is starting to implement new ways to teach students with the rapid development of technology. One strategy is the use of the internet to communicate, listen, and share ideas among students and professors alike; specifically the use of the internet realm in wikis, blogs, and podcasts. Blogs are either a website in itself or a part of a website where something like an interactive journal is being used; a person can write about anything they wish, link or show images, and decide whether other people can comment on the blog entry. Wikis are websites or webpages dedicated to providing information about a topic and can be edited by either the members of that site. Podcasts are digital files in the form of audio, video, or both that can be downloaded online onto computers, MP3 players, certain phones, and many more devices. Wikis, blogs, and podcasts could positively alter the educational format of lectures for students.
ICT have become commonplace entities in all aspects of life. Across the past twenty years the use of ICT has fundamentally transformed the practices and procedures of nearly all forms of exertion within business and governance.
