What Does The Future Hold For Us?

I’m merely a baby in the pharmacy technician world but from all the amounts of readings I have done about the experiences former P.T. It is certainly looking like the role of a P.T. will be changing the way everything is being done. The importance and the faith they will be putting on our shoulders to get the work done will be huge.

Before Pharmacist would have to do everything, from patient consulting to dispensing the medication. After adding the pharmacy technician the time and duties for pharmacist have changed. We get the process of the prescribed drug ready for the patient and the pharmacist just reviews to make sure everything is correct and in order to avoid any problems for the patient. Now in the present they are putting P.T’s as a Dispensary Manager. This ultimately shows how as times goes by pharmacy technicians are received important roles in hospitals and community pharmacies.

As the demand for Pharmacy Technicians increase the more careers there will be for upcoming P.T.

students such as myself. Not only does it provide us with a chance but also gives the motivation to be better at the job and learn well. A wide range of choices that of course have their own separate training and procedures, but time goes on the options continue to grow. Of course the other option of actually continuing the education by going to a six year school and becoming a certified pharmacist is also the alternate choice for long time pharmacy technicians. Being a pharmacy technician doesn’t just bound you to one specific casual career it allows you to expand your education and move up in life. I’m certain as time goes by there will be a larger amount of job requirements a P.T will need to know and

do.
Understanding the importance of P.T for the future is something that both the P.T. and the Pharmacist will need to know. As they say the pharmacy technicians are the wind under the pharmacist wings. The future for pharmacy is not just about the technology but about the details of the job requirements one must do under the pharmacy roof. The technology is also valuable as well, for it is giving the patients the best service they deserve. Many machines have been made to either give the patient the right medication, deliver the medication to the right floor, and making sure the medicine is received at a timely manner, if for example a doctor needs a medicine compounded STAT. Then we would need use pneumatic tubes to get the medicine to the patients quicker.
Time in this situation is our best friend not only does it expand the work but the positions as well. The future is looking great for the Pharmacy community. Everything in the job will be different leaving us in charge but also being supervised by the pharmacist. We are there to free the pharmacist for the purpose of helping the patients with medical questions.
