Recommended: About career planning
As a student in middle it is very important that I start to look to the future. One of the biggest obstacles in life is finding a job that I am content with or even enjoy. I desire that when I'm confronted with the problem of where to start on life I want to remember the research that I did for this paper to find the best job for me. What I hope to accomplish in this paper is I will find a career or a general idea of a job that I would want to do, know how to work up to that job, what kind of experiences that job will provide, and what I will have to do now to help me in the future get the job.
There were two surveys in CFNC.org, Career Cluster, and the Basic skills. Taking the surveys better helped me know where I should start in my research,

to limit the time and range needed to research , to learn more about myself, and to start thinking about some of the jobs and future that would interest me. In the Career cluster survey I scored highly in Business, Management, and administration, and Finance, But scoring lowest in Human services. In the Basic skills survey I scored highly in learning strategies, and active listening, lowly scoring in speaking. The career cluster survey made me want to put a lot of interest in Business, management, and administration.
When taking this survey,I thought a job for me would require a higher level educational level and be higher on the management level, that Is what kind of jobs the survey recommended for me. My Second Highest was in Finances, I'm not surprised because I am really good at managing money, and business. Financing would require me to plan and provide services for financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial management. In basic skills I scored highly in learning strategies, and lowest in speaking. To get an high in learning strategies that would mean that I would be able to teach and learn topics in different ways, I think that learning strategies would be a good combination with Business. Scoring lowest in speaking, I agree since I don't like to speak to a large amount of …show more content…
people. Based on my Career Clusters survey I started looking into a Business, Management and administration job. The top three jobs that looked to be what I was looking for was a Braille Transcriptionist, Chief Executive, and a Chief Information Officer. Between the three opinions I choose the Chief Information since it lined with my goals and my ideas of where to go in the future. A CIO is responsible for all aspects of a companyś information technologies and computer systems. CIOs don't just deal with technical problems, they are also in the management field. They organize a company's technology department so that It works with and enhances the company's business strategy. They work with senior management in companies, usually reporting directly to the CEO, and the CFO. Often work long hours and on the weekend, and the job might require frequent traveling to various company offices, meetings, and to conferences. The salary of a CIO is $57.07 about hourly, and on average $118,710 annually. A average director of information (CIO) works with executives, such as a CEO, to decide how to implement a new business strategy, and how to better their system to be more profitable. Also works to upgrade and maintain the telecommunications system. A CIO on a college campus would be involved in the struggle of the everyday working of a college. CIO around the world help their company keep abreast of the technology, and in touch with the rest of the word. They are always dealing with information technology directly, so the job wouldn't get boring or uneterjetic. Information technology is advancing at a rapid pace so CIO doesn't have the luxury to sit back and contemplate decisions, they must be able to make wise and collective decisions in a short about of time. When picking classes for high school, I was very course of what classes to take. I knew that It was going to be a good idea to apply for all honors. It would look good for college and it would give me a chance to get a head start in college my senior year. As a elective I knew I wanted to get into a class that would help me better understand what it takes to get in the business field. High School is going to be a big milestone in my life. I hope that when In high school I will so everything in my power to get as much information about how to get into a good job, and what to do to succeed when i get out of college. In high school I plan on playing sports. Playing sports will give me a some leadership skills because as a CIO you will need to be a leader. They will also hopefully help me get recognized by a college to get a scholarship for either academics or for a sport. I also hope to volunteer in high school and now. Recently I signed up for a opportunity to volunteer at a hospital. Volunteering will allow me to be able to put it in a college application to help my chances to get in a college, and it will expose me to some real life experiences before i'm an adult. A Research assistant would get me into the field of what I want to do in the future. Planning ahead for college, I will need to have at least four years of college. A CIO usually needs a bachelors or postgraduate degree in computer science, and have some education in business administration or commerce. CFNC had a lot of colleges that provide the computer science, and some business classes. I believe that the best college for me is high point university. I think that H.P.U.
is the best college for me for various reasons. One is that It is local so it would be beneficial for me for family support and other personal support. Another reason is that I have wanted to go to that University for a long time and it would be a dream to attend school there. The final reason is that in my community HPU has grown in fan support and has been getting more recognized. If It keeps growing then Higher level sport programs will look into HPU more. I want to be part of that change with it and since there are so many colleges that have the computer science programs why not pick one that has emotional reasons behind
it. I don't know much about if I have a college fund or not, it just haven't crossed my mind that I wouldn't get a scholarship into any school. I know it sounds very arrogant, but now that i have thought of the possibility that I may not I will ask my parents about it. If I don't get a scholarship to a university my back up plan is to go to a community college that is cheaper for two years to get my basics down, then I will go to a university to learn more about the career that I will go into. This project opened my eyes to a lot of possibilities for the future. Now that I have completed this project, it has narrowed down the options of jobs I want to do. I would advise anyone to do this project. It would be beneficial that people look ahead and prepare for a career in the future, this project help me get a outlook on my future. Everything I expected for this project was met. I liked that this project made you go into detail and really dig for information into the job of choice.
Upon doing more research on the career clusters I found a very interesting program that the State of Illinois has underway. The program is entitled the Career Clusters and Pathways guide. What the program is intended to do is to improve on the paths that individuals take to get to higher education and careers. The initiative is a statewide approach to improving college and career-oriented programs that leads students to higher education and employment (2013, p. 3).
...Selecting a college to attend was a lengthy process. I applied to four different schools. I outweighed all the pros and cons of each college. The ultimate goal was to persevere and graduate with a degree. As a high school student, I think I found Ohio State appealing because of all the hype that surrounded it. Once I came to the conclusion that I wanted to go into the medical field, I realized that I needed to be in an atmosphere where I could maintain my focus. Nonetheless, the most consequential influencing factor was regarding finances. Case was extremely expensive but I received a substantial amount of financial help compared to Ohio State. In addition, I was fortunate to obtain a work study job that helped with living expenses. I knew that college would not be easy especially given Case’s reputation. In the end, I am confident I made the correct decision.
UTK is a the university that I want to attend because it will give me a great opportunity to be a success student, and because the city it is located in is a beautiful place and has different social opportunities. Also because the school spirit and everyone there feels like your
Another piece of the assessment that I liked was it provided me with careers that fit my interests and preparation levels needed. For instance, one of the categories was job zone three careers that require medium preparation, such as vocation school training, on-the-job experience, or an associate’s degree. Some of the jobs I found interesting included, electronics and mechanical engineering technicians, web administrators and developers, medical equipment repairer, and aviation inspectors. However, I’m looking more for a career that will utilize a four-year bachelor’s degree, which are identified in job zone four with high preparation needed. For example, I found the following jobs interesting, aerospace engineering and operations technicians, Biomedical engineers, computer systems engineers/architects, financial analysts, forensic science technicians, nuclear and robotics engineers and software developers. Inclusively, I found this assessment thought-provoking because it allowed me to distinguish my work-related interests and what I consider important in a

These 3 colleges are amazing but there is one that matches with my ideal college the best, the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan compares very well next to my ideal college. It has a great pre-med program, it is the cheapest of all of the three, has great sports, and offers many financial aid programs. The University has a large campus and a medium size student body. There is no religious orientation and it has the highest rate of admission. This is why the University of Michigan is the perfect match to my ideal
Time sure does fly; in the blink of an eye, yet another 7.5-week class has come and gone. Just like life, it is scary to think that in just a few short years I will be graduating college and be in search of a future career. The magnitudes of readings, assignments, PowerPoint lectures, and videos have all contributed to the valuable knowledge I have gained since taking this course. Nothing that was presented or required was seen as invaluable towards my progression of career development. This career development course has allowed me to do some self-exploration, career research, and help me understand what influencing factors were related to the job market. Ultimately, this class helped me gauge and find a suitable career path, which will forever shape my future.

For so many years I’ve asked myself the question, “what are you going to do with your life?” For a period of time I struggled with this question. Today, I sit staring at my computer, confronting myself, asking my subconscious “what do I want to do for the rest of my life?” Have I finally found the answer I 've been looking for, or am I under the false assumption that this is the right path for me. This semester has been the ultimate opportunity to explore my questions, doubt, issues, and concerns. I feel that by the end of this paper I will have answered all these questions, and will have made the best decision for my future.
Savickas, M. L. "New Directions in Career Assessment." In Career Development, edited by D. H. Montross and C. J. Shinkman. Springfield, IL: Charles C. Thomas, 1992.

All college students should partake in career exploration project because it gives structure and direction. It does not necessarily mean they have to pick that particular job or career; it gives them more chooses to choose from.
