Future Career Paper

My plan for this research paper is to be able to better understand a future career I could go into. Another plan for this paper would also be for me to understand what all I would need to do to proceed this career.

My Career Cluster Survey told me what I thought I could go into, I had several things tied for the top such as, Business Management and Administration, Finance, Human Services, Law Public Safety, Corrections, and Security. I had a couple tied for a little below the top such as, Health Science and Education, and Training. All of the careers are something I’m interested in. I’m happy that I got all of these careers, and am really interested in certain ones.

For my Basic Skills Survey all of my skill will benefit me in any of

my future careers, that I'm interested in. I will say I’m surprised that I wasn’t ranked as high in certain categories. I’m still happy about most of my basic skills, and really happy that they will help benefit me in the career I chose.
I have chosen to be a Pharmacist.

I chose this career because, I would like to help people with whatever I do, and this career will allow me to do that. I also want to make enough money to where I don’t have to worry about money, and I really want to be able to provide for myself. Plus I think this would be the best fit for me personally because, I really would love to get into some type of medical field.

A Pharmacist dispenses drug prescribed by physicians, also helps provide patients about the medications they will be taking, A Pharmacist will also help recommend and select the dosage amounts, as well as the interactions, and side effects of the drug they’ll be taking. All of what I just explained I was high in those specific categories, based on the Basic Skills Survey. I gathered most of this information off of cfnc.org.

As a Pharmacist I would work outside, that really doesn’t matter to me, son that did not affect my overall decision. The growth of a Pharmacist is expected to grow by 18%, this is a very stable and great percentage for me to see. The average money I’ll make per year would be $120,570, that makes my hourly wage $60.21. I’ll of my information was obtained through

In High School I plan to take all honor classes. I will have to make sure I take plenty of Science and Math classes, since that will help me with my career. I will still need to take English classes but, they aren't as big of a deal compare to Science and Math. History I really want need, I will mainly just need it to get credits to graduate. The main electives I’ll need to take will be Biomedical Technology, I will also have to take several computer classes as well. The computer classes I’ll have to take will just help me with the software that I’ll have to use.
I will definitely be playing sports, I’ll play softball. Sports will not come first though, school will always come first. I will make sure everything is done and right before it’s needed to be turned in, that way I want fall behind, with all that I have on my plate. I’m really going to try to keep my GPA as high as I humanly possible.
I will try to get scholarships based on athletics and academics. I know it’s hard to get an athletic scholarship, but I’m working extremely hard on it. I will try just as hard to get an academic as I will for a athletic scholarship. I may or may not be doing extracurricular activities, it will all depend on how my academics are at the time, and if I can even add more things to what I’m already doing.
For college I could go to two places in the state of North Carolina that provide a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy.

Out of the two colleges Campbell and Wingate University, I think Campbell offers the best program for me personally. I would get a Doctoral Degree because, that will give me the best benefit and knowledge that I’ll need to proceed this career. Since I’ll be getting this degree I’ll be in school for an extra four years out of High School.

I will go away for college, one reason would be I want to be a little more dependent. The main reason I want to start being dependent in college would be because, I don’t want to be some 20 some year old depending on their mommy and daddy 24/7.Another reason would be the college isn’t 20 minutes away it’s a decent distance from where I live right now.

Right now I plan to pay for college by getting scholarships and loans. I do have a Bank Account my Grandma started when I was born and she puts money in the account every month or so, so I have some money saved up, but with how much college is it would barely pay all of one semester. Right now there is no plan in place for me really. My parents and I need to talk about it more than we have for

sure.
In this paper I do believe my goals were met, I do have a better understanding of what I hope my future career is. I learned what classes I’ll need to take in High School and College, and I also learned that I’ll make more than enough money to be able to support myself, I also learned a career that I’m really interested in. I liked how this process gave me a really good understanding on several things I could do in the future. For me the most challenging part would have been actually choosing my career, because I’m interested in several things, that was extremely hard. I would advise this to any of my friends so, they can get a better idea of a career if they have no clue at what they could do in the future. I mentioned some of this to my parents, I didn’t include them in some things, because I didn’t want them to take control and tell me what I should and shouldn’t do. I did ask for advice on some things. Overall I really liked this process.
