Take a Stand Paper
“Mr. Skinner, suspicions are mounting. Police are everywhere. I want the job done tonight. Can you do it? Any way you want. Poison them, drown them, bash them on the head. Got any chloroform? I don't care how you kill the little beasts, just do it, and do it now!” (Cruella De Vil). Unfortunately, this is reality in fur farms. It is abusing and hurting innocent animals all over the world, many of the animals are abducted pets from some countries, they are only bred for their fur and are not used for its fullest potential, and sometimes animals chew their own legs off to free themselves from traps. Although many people like to wear fur, it is unethical. There are other materials that look just like the real fur for a better alternative. The world needs to understand that animals are not disposable. They are living beings, capable of feelings, sensations, and certain emotions.

After all, is there a woman in all this wretched world who doesn't?” (Cruella De Vil). Many people love wearing real fur so they can be fashionable and keep warm. Because of this, fur farms only breed animals for their fur and don’t use them to their fullest potential. People say, “People long ago wore fur, so why can’t we?” The answer to that is because people long ago didn’t have a choice. They had to find a way to keep warm and they used the animal for its fullest potential. Some Indian tribes used every part of the animal and didn’t waste a single thing. Today, there are materials that look and feel just like real fur. Why hurt an innocent living creature when there are better alternatives? If you wouldn’t wear your pet, then don’t wear other
Good morning everyone and what a pleasure it is to be able to open the Australia Day Film Festival. The two films that have been chosen to open this year’s festival are Bran Nue Dae and the Rabbit Proof Fence. Both of these films offer a unique insight into the experiences and perspectives of indigenous Australians. They reveal adversity faced by aborigines as a result of racism and are a timely reminder of our need to be more inclusive as a nation. These coming of age and culturally inspiring films, Rachel Perkins’s 2009, Bran Nue Dae and Philip Noyces’s 2002, Rabbit Proof Fence have become Australian classics, capturing the dark truth behind Australia’s history. Both directors introduce young indigenous people setting on their journey back home while discovering the harsh reality of being an indigenous person. Rabbit Proof Fence’s Molly, a young indigenous who is forcefully taken away from her home to be housed on mission school, where her sister and cousin will be introduce and educated to become servants for white settlers. Molly, her sister and cousin make a daring escape back home, challenging
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to help abolish puppy mills by adopting and volunteering. Those no matter how big or small their efforts are, that can make a difference and help cease puppy mills and their perpetuation in our society.
Many people believe that animal cruelty is an acceptable consequence if done for scientific purposes or to sustain human economy. Just imagine yourself being a monkey, for a shampoo testing organization, being forced to take chemicals down your throat to see its effect, and if you didn’t die during this process, you would’ve been killed and dissected anyway to see what organs have been affected. All this needs to be done for what purpose? To make sure that someone could have the really needed necessity of having another great, lovely new shampoo that smells exactly like all the others in the market, just wonderful.
My dad and I go hunting every weekend during deer season which is from mid of Novmber to the first of Janurary. We go sit at 6:00am and we leave at 8:00am,but why we sit we will be wacthing birds and squirrals playing in the place we have corn they will eat it like deer does.We half to sit still were the deer can’t see us in the deer stand. When we go hunting you have to climb up in the deer stand and then sit patiertly to wait for something to come out of the woods. We look three or four different way in the stand.”My dad stated,” theres a deer.We go hunting in Pearson Georgia. When we go hunting we have to be careful because the gun could go off.It could be dangous going hunting by yourself. But if anything happen I can help him.Because we
Did you know that a cow harvested specifically for beef only lives up to 18 months? The average cow usually lives up to 18-25 years! Today I will talk to you about the cruelty and chemicals that goes into the beef you are buying from your local grocery store. Not that I am in any way a vegetarian or against eating meat, but it is important for you to be informed about what goes into the food that you are putting into your body. You only have one, after all.
Did you know that there are over one hundred puppy mills in Wisconsin, Iowa , Texas , Louisiana , Florida and Georgia. Puppy mills is a farm with dogs all kinds, Living in harsh conditions, Cages and mesh wire cages there whole life there. Puppy mills should be band because who would want to torture dogs for money who would do that? Puppy mills is a farm with dogs all kinds, Living in harsh conditions, Cages and mesh wire cages there whole life there. Puppy mills are illegal. They are torturing dogs to breed too much. . ________________________________________________________________________
Every year, over 100 million animals are killed for experimentation, biology lessons, medical/military training, and cosmetic, drug, and chemical testing. Animals are tortured all over the world and still lack lawful protection.
II. Transition to Main Point 1: I’m sure you all have heard of organic food but may not know exactly what it is or what makes it organic.
Attention getter: Lion, tigers, and bears, oh my! When the circus comes rolling into town, many people are excited to go and that is all that is talked about; about the clowns, the trapeze artists, the ring leader, the elephants and all the other marvelous wonders of the circus. But would you all still be excited to go if you knew the truth about the circus and the animal trainers of how they treat the animals? Because in reality, for our spirits to raise at the circus, they break the spirits of all the animals, especially the elephants.
Imagine being beaten to near death and being painfully skinned alive. This scenario seems as if it would only happen in a horror film, but in reality it occurs on a daily basis. Looking at a fur coat through a store window or in a glossy magazine one may not realize that animals were beaten, electrocuted, crammed in filthy wire cages, or even hanged just to produce a simple fur coat. Every year millions of animals are treated wrongly and even killed for the fur on their backs. Society may think twice about wearing the corpse of an animal when one knows what really happens in the name of fashion. An immeasurable amount of suffering went into every fur trimmed jacket, leather belt, or wool sweater hanging in ones closet. To eradicate the unnecessary suffering of animals for fashion, wearing fur must be made illegal.
The sun dried grass crunched under David’s feet as he reached the mailbox, sweat plastering his golden hair to his forehead. The rural landscape of Shark Bay is bone dry; the lingering heat wave serving as a slap in the face with the wind blowing what is left of his fields into whirlwinds of dirt. His was once a land of luscious green landscape, the soft air turned branches into wind chimes as the trees swayed. These same trees have been bleached by the heat ridden gusts carving tortured sculpture in their trunks. Some might now see this world as one of desolate wasteland but David grew up with the land, this land was a living, growing friend that he knew, loved, and cared for as much as he did his wife and children.
Experimenting on animals for cosmetics is not needed because if there were no beauty products being sold then humans would like each other for the way they naturally are. Then comes using animals for sport. Torturing innocent animals for the entertainment. What pleasure does anyone get from watching? animals killing each other?
... of the pain and suffering for fashion purposes. It is unethical to have an animal born into a world of fear; they deserve to live free as they are supposed to. Humanistic theory states that every person has good in them; supporting fur farms by wearing real animal fur helps go against this theory. However, if people would stop wearing fur, it would help animals from having an insensible death. “In 1987, 4.12 million minks were slaughtered on fur farms but, in 1999, about half the amount of minks were killed for their skins which is a tremendous change” (OCPA). As seen by these statistics, the fur industry is already beginning to decline in their usage of animal skin. This is a good way to go and people need to let the fur industry officially shut down for good. It will save millions of animals’ lives every year and will also help restore the goodness in humankind.
It is shown that lawmakers do not view animal abuse as seriously as they possibly should, perhaps because animal cruelty is so common and is sometimes even viewed as entertainment. There are common cases of animal abuse in everyday life, such as: hunting, poaching, factory farming, rodeos, and the industries that offer authentic fur, leather, feathers, and wool. The industries that use authentic animal hide have no excuse for not finding a suitable substitute. Honestly, there is no reason why the skin of an animal is to be used in clothing other than the fact that it is considered “fasion.” There are also cases of animal abuse that are celebrated as a cherished tradition.
Many people who abuse animals do not realize that they are actually hurting animals, this is known as unintentional. When some people try to discipline their pets they use tactics that they think is acceptable, when in reality is probably not the best way. People also abuse animals due to lack of attention, such as forgetting to feed and water the animals for a number of days. A family may take the animals with them when they leave the house, and forget to leave a window down with the animal inside. One of the biggest unintentional ways of animal cruelty is a way that many people think is helpful but is actually has a negative impact on all of the animals involved, this idea is trying to take in more animals than one can handle, they have good intentions but this is harmful to animals because it forces them to live in unhealthy conditions. There are many new cases of animal hoarding every year, with over 250,000 animals falling victim. Puppy mills are large dog breeding’s that care more about making money than the wellbeing and health of the animals. Many dogs become ill with diseases such as kidney or heart disease as a result of the conditions in which they live.
