The point of view used in the novel Fugitive Pieces is first person. The story is about Jakob Beer’s life, so it is more effective and realistic to use first person point of view. It creates a feeling of a reliable narrator. But the author also has another character, Ben, write from his point of view near the end. This is because the author wants Jakob to be seen as a character in the book, not only a narrator who talks about his life, and helps develop the reliability of the story. Having the second narrator, we can point out if any of the facts read from the previous chapters are right or wrong. We can make connections between the two narrators, and see if both facts are related or not.
Jakob Beer knows everything that occurs in his life,

He wants to learn about everything that he can. He speaks in a confident tone, where it’s hard to recognize any ignorance or biased phrase in the context. “When the soldiers arrived they examined the perfectly preserved clay bowls’ they held the glass beads, the bronze and amber bracelets, before smashing them on the floor” (6). This quote proves that he speaks the facts, and says what he saw without doubt. He is a knowledgeable kid, and knows very well about the world around him. This is because he was raised by Athos, who gave him a chance to live freely, and taught him the truth about the world. The narrator Jakob, is a reliable because he talks about the both good and bad in the story, and explains both with great details. Plus, it makes it easier to understand the story knowing he’s reliable. Nevertheless, for the last part of the book, Ben is also a reliable character. This is because he speaks in a respectful tone. Everything he says is full of facts and has many details to back them up. “Her light- brown hair or her dark- brown eyes or her small hand disappearing into the shoulders of her dress to adjust a strap” (175). This quotes proves that Ben explains every little detail, without leaving one tiny thing out, even if it’s about someone he just saw or met. He is a well-respected man, and only tells the truth. With or without having Ben narrating the ending, the story would have ended up the same way. The narrator
Laura Hillenbrand’s novel Unbroken incorporates the improbable life of the main character, Louie Zamperini. She introduces both the inspiring and powerful journey that Louie encounters in his life as he grows up. Hillenbrand looks to and successfully does catch the versatility of the human soul. Zamperini’s story including his involvement in World War II gives a persuasive stage in which the author demonstrates numerous qualities of Louie. Leaving readers to appreciate his courage, quality, grit and above all else, his bravery. “Confident that he was clever resourceful, and bold enough to escape any predicament, [Louie] was almost incapable of discouragement. When history carried him into war, this resilient optimism would define him.” Louie
People have goals everyday, believe it or not some people think that dreams aren't worth it. I believe that it is worth it to dream because it gives a person a goal, it makes them feel good, and it makes them stronger. I know this from The Pearl, A Cubs video, the Susan Boyle video, and We Beat the streets.
Louie Zamperini survived almost two months at sea facing starvation, extreme thirst, and shark attacks. During WWII, Louie was captured and taken to many Japanese prison camps where he was drained emotionally and physically. Though his conditions were obviously not ideal, Louie kept up his lively personality and found ways to take care of himself to survive. In the novel Unbroken, Laura Hillenbrand uses both internal and external conflict to show the theme people can stand up against enemies even when the odds seemed stacked up against them.
The story is written in 3rd person P.O.V as to give an idea of the setting, and as they waged their war the outside person could give unbiased information of which would have been limited if it were to be presented in a 1st person P.O.V. We wouldn't have got an unbiased opinion of the two snipers, which defeats the purpose of the theme.
This style of point of view adds a new feeling while reading the novel. The reader will be looking through the eyes of someone shadowing Jennifer Government and seeing it in one style, but then on the next page, the reader will see what's happening through the eyes of someone shadowing Billy NRA. Even though the narrator may change, the story will progress. You can compare the technique to a basketball game. One moment, the person is in the audience watching the game. The next moment the person is a player on the bench. Then the person becomes a player on the court taking shots. After that, the person changes into a referee calling the game. At the end, the person becomes the coach and calls the shots of the game.

The novel Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell is a story about four Navy SEALs whose top secret mission is suddenly compromised, creating a devastating skirmish with the local Taliban. During the mission to look for the senior Taliban member the soldiers are caught by surprise by three wandering shepherds. An intense vote over what to do with the captured shepherds leads the team to decide they must follow the rules of engagement, meaning that they must release the shepherds. Consequently, shortly after the shepherds are released the SEAL team is surrounded by Taliban soldiers. Ultimately, with the aid of some valiant villagers only Marcus Luttrell finds himself alive to tell the tale. Throughout the novel Lone Survivor, it is evident that Marcus Luttrell evolves as a soldier, person, and a citizen.
A woman has always been told to act like a lady, to be proper, and to show manners. The history of women is being told through the books, actions, and through history. The role a woman is usually portrayed as pure and very welcoming. Will Cather created this character of Marian Forrester in her book “A Lost Lady” as a very high end woman that leaves an impression on anyone that meets Mrs. Forrester. Since in the pioneer day’s women where divided into to social classes like the upper division called the aristocrats, and then there was the lower division woman that did all the labor work. A lady is meant to be a wife and stand behind her husband and not question their role that a wife plays. The gender role played a key factor throughout the development of the identity of Mrs. Forrester. The way Mrs. Forrester
Much work goes into musical , as was the case in “Catch Me If You Can”,which La Joya Middle School drama had the pleasure of watching on January 15, put on by El Diamante High School. The musical was directed by John Sorber and Michael Tackett. This amazing production included many talented actors such as Maverik Dakota Raven starring as Frank Abagnale Jr., Kiley Hoffman playing Brenda Strong, and Jonathan Johns as Carl Hanratty. This incredible play carried a strong lesson. As was seen the protagonist ran from his problems and pretended to be someone who he wasn't. The plot of this story showed us that we can't run from our problems, for that only worsens the situation and is a snowball for our problems.

Some people treat others nicely with a different motive than being friends. Some people use others for many things that their helpfulness. In the short story The Stolen Party by Liliana Heker, the author suggests that the way people treat others can be deceiving because Luciana and her mother treated Rosaura as a guest at the party but in reality she was a servant. Some people might argue that not everything or everyone is as they seem but there is evidence to show a different claim is stronger. The theme that fits the best for The Stolen Party by Liliana Heker is that the way people treat others can be deceiving.
Most importantly Sonya gave Ben motivation. As he was a young boy he went through a lot of difficulties, grades started to drop, and he wasn’t believing in himself. Due to the fact that his grades were dropping Sonya made limited Television time to 2 shows a week, both boys had to go to the library, read at least 2 books a week and write a report on them. Sonya encouraged Ben to always to better, never give up and he would succeed in what he wanted to do with life.

In order to build, you need to destroy.
