There once was a water droplet named Raine, she was thousands of years old. Her routine consisted of going through the water cycle, she got to see new things each day and explore. Sometimes she ended up in the same place, but most of the time she got to see new things. In this story you are going to hear about one day when Raine went to Fruitvale. Raine woke up early in the morning to be ready for her next adventure. She was in the form of condensation and had no idea where she was going. Raine seemed a little nervous. Her friends had said the direction she was heading was a larger town where she could possibly get lost. The breeze had picked up so she was moving a little quicker. She saw a sign that said Fruitvale and laughed at the name. …show more content…
Out of nowhere she is sucked back into a cloud, which is called evaporation. The cloud began to become very heavy and Raine was the first water droplet to fall, this time she was in the form of a precipitation. Raine became stressed again because she remembered what her friends had said about getting lost. Raine finally made it down to Earth’s surface. She met a very nice crawfish after she landed on his belly. A few hours after talking to the crawfish Raine was sucked back up into a different cloud through evaporation. The updraft from a thunderstorm begin to freeze Raine creating hail.
She becomes too heavy for the cloud and again begins to fall from the sky. She sees the Eden Agriculture Chemical Company. Raine then bounces off of one of the company smoke stacks. After a few hours the she melts back into a water droplet. The sun comes out and she begins to turn into condensation. The wind begins to blow and she is carried to a nice orchard many miles away. Raine beings the process of infiltration, which is where she seeps into the ground and soils underground. Raine didn’t know what was going on she began to be pumped up through a well so that JoJo the dog's owner could get him some fresh water. JoJo began drinking the water. Raine ended up falling out of the bowl. She talked to JoJo for a while and she ended up falling asleep in the sun so she was again brought back up to the clouds due to evaporation. She is in the form of precipitation again and is falling down towards the ground. The last place Raine ended up was in the soil underneath some garbage at the North end of Fruitvales’ dump. She had ended up somewhere so she was calling for someone to answer her. Finally after a few minutes she met a droplet named Haily and they became friends. That was the final part of the
adventure.

There were two instances in the story when the man in the well asked, ‘Do you think it will rain?’ Both times the girl Wendy answered, ‘No, I don’t think so.’(117,118) However, when the children went home that last night it finally rained. Whether the man drowned in the well from the rain or was able to use the rain to get out of the well, I am not sure of. The rain seems to show an ending to it all, as a way of washing it all away. While the man was in the well the children never showed any guilt, but they never went back to the well. Even as the children grew up they never went back to the well. The narrator says that he will never go back, but in a way he has. He is remembering this story and it is obviously something that he remembers very clear, so in a way he does go back to that well and revisits it every time he thinks of it.
It is also stated that she has never seen him alone. The storm starts to increase outside, reflecting the sexual tension inside. The storm's sinister intention appears when "The rain beat upon the shingled roof that threatened to break an entrance.". It seems that the storm knows what is going on between the two and is threatening to break in and ruin their chances. They move throughout the house and end up in the bedroom "with its white, monumental bed, its closed shutters, looked dim and mysterious.
The water yields a home for Beloved as she finds herself lost and confused. As Beloved emerges from the water, she searches for a place of belonging in the life she left behind. “I come out of the blue water… I need to find a place to be (213).” Because she has been lost inside the spiritual world, she searches for a “home” after being reborn. Once she finds this home, she is able to accept herself and can begin taking revenge on Sethe for what she did to her. Her simple beginnings of praising and worshiping her mother, captures Sethe’s complete devotion and love. “Rainwater held on to pine needles for dear life and Beloved could not take her eyes off Sethe (57).” With Beloved constant flattering nature, Sethe handed herself over to Beloved and she became part of the family. Beloved’s evil ways of manipulating Sethe into caring more about her than Den...
...o be correct. Hemingway uses rain as a sign of death, sadness or to give one of his characters the state of being afraid. The despair brought by rain, Frederic says „ good-bye to [Catherine], and then „[leaves] the hospital and walk[s] back to the hotel in the rain". The rain described as he walks home represents again a cleansing in which Tenente will be forced to start a whole new life now.
To me one of the most significant things that happened in the story is how Raina is represented that she does not feel very confident with herself, which is an actual problem that many pre-teens and teenagers go through while in school, and it is quiet realistic since her struggle with her image is on the lighter side of the spectrum like some kids due to peer pressure. Another thing that is well represented is that with the help of her friends though she is able to get over her image and begins to feel confident again. This example shows that someone should always surround themselves with good people that are willing to support you and help you get back on your feet when your knocked down or at least help soften the fall. Although Raina regaining
The constant appearance of rain allows for sadness to be foreshadowed; the opposite can be inferred where there is more of a relief than sadness. The book says in the weather “…came the permanent rain and with the rain came the cholera” (Hemingway, 4). When the rain pours in the beginning of the book, it started to describe the scenery. The rain was signifies rain as death and as a tragedy for thousands of death soldiers follow along the cholera that comes with the rain. Usually when it rains in a novel or in a movie, the plot turns negative. Rain serves as a potent symbol of inevitable disintegration of happiness in life. Before Hemingway describes the rain, he says that “the leaves” on the trees “fell early that year” and this is not an example of rain, but it shows that not only does rain foreshadow sadness, but nature itself does. The nature aspect of this was that the leaves symbolize the soldiers and since they are falling early that year that means that they are dying as a young man. The death of them are sometimes forgotten with the permanent rain that falls o...
As my father and I went into town to fight off more misery for the mortals, there was a cloud that we have been fighting off for two days, but it still returns. Exhausted, I was ready to drop, but the cloud continued to grow. Covering town after town. When it seemed to me that it was hopeless, I saw a bright blue spot in the sky. From cloud to could, they were finally clearing up.
Finally the sun was going down slower and slower and everyone was think to themselves what is happening. “A few cold drops fell on their noses and their checks and their mouths . The sun faded behind a stir of mist. A wind blew cold around them¨ (4). It was raining again and people were crying and becoming sad about themselves and didn't know what to do. Then here it came BAM!. It came back the thunderstorms, tornadoes, and the huge hurricane. THe class went and find a doorway that made them go underground so they don't die from these places.”They glanced out at the world that was raining now and raining and raining steadily”(4). Everyone was very disappointed what they did to Morgot and how they treated her as she was just being herself and never spoke up for herself. “Behind the closet door was only silence. They unclosed the door, even slowly, and let Morgot out¨(4). Finally, they stood there in sadness and didn't know what to do but say sorry. Morgot was silence the whole time and scared and didn't know what to do in her life while she was living on
The vicissitude of weather came suddenly and unbeknownst to our small sleeping company. Thunder boomed. Lightning cracked and split the sky. Clouds formed overhead, rain began to fall, and the wind grew unpropitious. Clamoring voices pulled me from unconsciousness. Water pooled at the base of our tent, our rain fly and tarp doing little to protect us from the raging storm. Our counselor, Jane, ripped open the zippers of the neighboring tent and emerged. Her voice barely carried over the harsh drumming of the rain, coaxing us out of our saturated shelter where she explicated her

Once upon a time high above the earth, fluffy white clouds drifted through the atmosphere. In the clouds lived a family Droplet of water, round and content with life. For as long as I could remember, I spent my days lying on my back, relaxing and soaking up the sun's warm rays. One day, I took my usual place in the sun but the light didn't seem to be as bright. In fact, as the day went on, it grew darker and darker, loud claps of thunder shook the cloud, and the Droplet felt as if he were getting so heavy he could hardly move. This is called precipitation.
I put my head between my legs and sobbed. I stayed on that little raincloud until sunset. I watched from my cloud until it finally had no more water and I flew back to my mom. I landed back in Heaven and discovered all the angels were gathered.
She went downstairs to get breakfast. When she got downstairs, she grabbed strawberries and put them in the blender. The blender crushed and spun the strawberries like a tornado. Mom and Dad were also downstairs preparing for the party. Meanwhile, Isaac was upstairs getting ready for the party. The neighbors from across the street rung the doorbell to help the Montgomery family decorate. The day passed by as they were preparing for it. After they were done decorating Isaac wanted to go trick or treating to get some candy before the party even started. As Isaac, Jessica, and Cassandra, their new neighbor, roamed all around town it started to get unmistakably windy. Their bags sagged from all the candy. They got to this enormous house where all of the sudden Jessica saw the same shadow as the night before. She grabbed Isaac and Cassandra from the hand and started running home. There seemed to be more shadows as they got closer to their
...t, I always assumed that rain was simply a type of weather. To me, the word rain was used as a clarification to help viewers understand. However, rain is so much more than just a clarification on the weather channel. Rain is associated with several emotions ranging from cleansing to depression, love to anger, and life to death. Sometimes I wonder if life would be better without rain; there wouldn’t be as many natural disasters or frequent reminders of depression. But then I imagine not being able to feel renewal and love, or see the effects rain has on life; suddenly, I realize that the positive effects of rain far outweigh the negatives. As you see the majestic rain gracefully floating down, recognize the simple beauty and importance in rain. Uncover those feelings you’ve been burying within you for so long; expose the emotions you’ve been hiding and feel free.
