Frost/ Nixon is a drama which is adapted from the staged play of Peter Morgan, directed by Ron Howard and released in 2008. The movie makes for an interesting watch because most of the action of the movie focuses on the two lead characters, that is David Frost (Michael Sheen) and ex-President Nixon (Frank Langella), both who view the interviews as a way to revive their failing careers. David Frost wants to use the interviews as a way to redeem himself after his shows in America are cancelled. He makes this known when he says,” Its indescribable, success in America, it’s unlike success anywhere else” and the former American president wants to use the interviews to show the American people that he is still ‘presidential’ and also benefit from the 600,000 dollars appearance fee Frost promises to pay him. The movie is based on the 1977 interviews between British television broadcaster David Frost (played by Michael Sheen) and former American President Richard Nixon (played by Frank Langella). Other cast include Kevin Bacon as Jack Brennan Nixon's post-presidential chief of staff, Oliver Platt as Bob Zelnick and Sam Rockwell as James Reston Jr. as two investigators Frost hires to help with research and Matthew Macfadyen as John Birt, Frost’s producer and friend. The movie opens with a recount of how the media covered the events of the Watergate scandal which forced ex- president Nixon to resign from office. Three years after his resignation, Nixon is still tight-lipped about the scandal and only consents to give Frost three 90 minute interviews because he thinks he can easily outwit Frost since he has little experience in high profile interviews.
